Apparently, Jigsaw does science tutorials in his free time.

This is complete c*ck. My boss sticks his entire arm in the LN2 tank to check the level. The rest of us take frozen eppendorf tubes out of the nitorgen with our hands (I usually wear latex gloves, if it is a hot sweaty day sometimes they freeze). Boll*cks to the "I am an expert" bit as well, anyone can do this. The fact that people don`t know this is that the world is too full of credulous morons who get all of their science (and history for that matter) from Hollywood, which is nearly always wrong.

Some guy won a Darwin Award honorable mention with something similar to this. The leidenfrost affect also applies to putting liquid nitrogen in your mouth, so he accidentally swallowed it trying to do so. The genius nearly died, but to all of our disappointment he lived.

Hmmm... I think I`ll freeze my hand in liquid nitrogen today.

i kept expecting a accident at the end all it would take is a distraction at the moment of insertion and his hand would be done for

it puts the nitrogen on its skin or it gets the hose again

"Why the hell did he alter his voice? Is he ashamed of being such a nerd? Or does he talk like a woman?"

Voice masking + Woman hands = Woman.

I have no idea why she`s hiding it behind the creepiest voice imaginable.

As a chemist who uses Liq Nitrogen regularly, this video is very irresponsible.

"Why is everyone so afraid of it?! I use liquid nitrogen in the genetics lab and I always fish out my centifuge tubes from it with my bare hands - takes no *psyching up*..."

As for this, you obviously don`t have your centrifuge tubes submerged in Liq Nitrogen, otherwise you will have lost your fingers by now. Even the video shows that the effect lasts no longer than about 15 seconds, meaning that the tubes would be that cold after 15 seconds, thereby freezing your fingers on contact.

I also know this from experience of being wholly stupid in my research lab and grabbing a vessel that had been in Liq nitrogen, it took 5 minutes to defrost it from my hand without permanent damage and a week of bandaging.

that sounds like it`d work, until you realize the tube would be as cold as the LN if its been in there for long. i dont believe you.

his voice is probably masked so people dont recognize it then sue him when they try this

That sentence just took away all his credibility as an educated person.

I have to agree with a few others...what is with his voice? It`s like a cross between "Buffalo Bill" and "Jigsaw".

Heey, I used to mess around with this effect back in my freshman year...In metal shop...When I finished welding some peices of metal, I spit on it, and the spit would ball up and roll around. Neat-o Torpedo!

I`ve worked LOTS with liquid nitrogen. Daily for three years in fact. And I would NOT try this shiz, ever.

Also, deeply unsettling girl-fingers at 2:51.

i remember my science center dipped an onion in liquid nitrogen and dropped it, I was more interested in the sound it made, I dont think ill hear anything like it ever again

That`s awesome.Having not seen this I would have assumed that one would get instant frost bite from doing that. I think you get frost bite from touching a chunk of dry ice for a couple secounds, I`m not sure though I`m not going to try it lol

My dad is a college professor and has access to this huge tank Liquid Nitrogen. whats really cool to do is dip in a fresh rose for about 2 seconds then pull it out and flick it with your finger. it shatters instantly

"
Cajun247 THANK YOU! that link proves the video of the monk pouring hot lead into his mouth is completely possible!"

The video didn`t show the next 30 seconds where the hot lead melted out of his internal organs and fell through his pelvis, did it?

My chem professor did a demo with liquid nitrogen and let some of us stick our hands in it. It felt really weird and you can`t really even feel the cold due to this effect.

He also described how some chemists will take a drink of it and spit it out. The effect still works as long as you are able to spit it all out. My professor wasn`t crazy enough to try that though.

We did some stuff with liquid nitrogen when I was in high school. And My science teacher did all of this, then found it necessary to Pour a cup of it over my head. lmao.
The coolest thing we did with it was froze oranges solid then shattered them against the wall, but he shattered roses as well.

I do research in a lab. Last july I had a full liquid nitrogen tank erupt on me. I had some cryogenic burns which sucked but at least I could tell my friends that I knew what the evil T-1000 felt.

That`s really cool. I especially like that he explains why it works unlike most videos like this that just show you and don`t explain.

But why do I feel like he`s about to make me cut out my eye to get the key so I can unlock the bear trap on my head?

even better is filling a plastic bottle with LN2 and screwing the cap on tight enough to ensure no leaks. Hide it somewhere an unsuspecting victim will go in the next 5 mins and enjoy! (NOTE: removing plastic shards from eyes, yours or your victims, might not be fun. glass bottle might have similar more destructive effect, but i have yet to try that...glass is totally more painful to have in your skin)
