Girl Arrested For Swearing On 9-11 Call [Video]

17 yr old Adrainne Ledesma calls 911 after her father had a stroke. Then the operator started to lecture her on swearing

Let me just clear something up about my last post. When the girl says "Send me a fu*king ambulance?" she said effing on purpose to irritate the guy. And if she was so worried about her dad dying she wouldn`t have called back just to threaten to sue him.

I agree that the operator was being a di*k but she`s playing the innocent victim and most people are actually believing it.

"obnoxious and should have asked for an ambulance by calmly giving her address and stating the emergency."
Yeah, okay you can say that in hindsight, but YOU try keeping calm when your parent is lying on the floor having a seizure after brain surgery. I do agree that it was stupid to call him and ask for his name. It`s unfortunate all the bad publicity certain cops bring on all the other ones that are actually decent at their job.

Okay, a kid is seventeen years old, her father just went through brain surgery, he`s on the floor having a seizure, and she`s supposed to "stay calm" and play nice while this guy endangers her parent`s LIFE?

Let me restate this in a way as to demonstrate my point: I am a health care professional. We are trained that it is a basic part of ethics to assume that the person we are dealing with is seeking help in the first place because they are dealing with a situation with which it is beyond their current abilities to cope well independently. We are supposed to facilitate the person getting their needs met, starting where they are. Honestly a police officer that gets that upset about a scared kid using the "f" word doesn`t need to be a police officer. He needs a therapist to help him thicken his skin, soften his heart, and harden his resolve to actually serve the public as he has committed to do in his career.

Both of them are to blame really. The guy had no right to lecture her on swearing, especially since he called her an a55. But she shouldn`t have been so stupid and obnoxious and should have asked for an ambulance by calmly giving her address and stating the emergency.
If she was really worried about her dad dying why did she call just to ask what the operators name was so she could sue him! Way to play the victim girl.

i dissagree entirely and i heard somewhere that the dad diesd because of this 911 must deal with much worse mouths then hers i feel very bad for her

That guy should be fired.

The job of someone handling a 911 call is not to police someone`s use of language, nor is it their privilege to decide whether to help based on whether or not they think the caller is an adequately good girl. People calling 911 are usually not in a position to pull out their etiquette primers or review the Ten Commandments first. (Also did you notice that he responded to the caller by cussing back at her? Maybe he should have asked the guy at the next desk to arrest him?)

Cops like this are the sort that give the rest an unfairly bad name.

Both the officer and the girl are idiots. The girl`s swearing was excusable at first, but she should have at least stated her situation before losing her temper. 9-1-1 operators get lots of crank calls full of people just swearing and asking for an ambulance, and the officer needed to know what her emergency was. And when the girl knew that the officer didn`t care for swearing, she should have known enough not to swear the next two times she called, for the sake of her father`s life. I mean, her father has fallen on the floor due to a heart attack and she`s calling 9-1-1 to get the officer`s name to sue him instead of telling the officer her dad had a heart attack. And the officer was way to uptight and bitter and needs to accept that people swear in times of crisis.

When I was 18 I was raped and I swore on the phone to the operator and to the police. When you get stressed out you are likely to say anything. The officer should get fired for hanging up on her he heard her ask for help and he should have remained calm and tried to calm her down not upset her more. He should be ashamed of his actions. What if her father had died how he feel then? Would he be proud of the way he handled things? I think not.

"Well, the officer`s actions were inexcusable, but that girl`s completely emptyheaded. She`s as much an idiot as the officer."

Ok let`s analyze the difference between a 17 year old and a law enforcement officer. 17 year olds do not have college educations. Most haven`t even graduated high school. 17 year olds are not paid 62K a year to f-ck over the very people who pay that salary. 17 year olds are not professionally trained and expected to handle any and all emergency situations. 17 year olds are KIDS. 17 year olds are expected to have foul mouths. 17 year olds are stupid, which is probably why you never see 17 year old cops. There is a reason people hate cops, because many are pieces of sh-t like this guy.

I would sue the sh*t out of him.

Wowzers Robot1 I Kinda Agree With You But Kinda Not I Mean In The First Place The Operater Should Ignore Whatever Lingo People Have On The 911 Call Because In Some Cases People Flip Out And Are GOING To Cuss But On The Flip Side She Should Have Heard "Stop Cussing" As A "Calm Down" And Gotten To Her Problem ASAP Her Dads Having A Seizure RIGHT AFTER Brain Surgery Thats Nit An Appropriate Time Ti Threaten To Sue She SHOUL`VE Gotten To What Her Problem Was And Threatened To Him Sue Later If That Was What She Wanted At The End Of That Call Cause Hell Who Knows If She`d Ignored His Mini Lecture He Might Have Been Able To Help Her With The Seizure And She Might Have Changed Her Mind About Suing Him...Sorry That Was So Long I Tend To Carry On...:-)"

This is the only possible scenario in which swearing could actually kill someone - and it`s because that idiot 911 operator was offended by the "buffoonery" of some "foul-mouthed girl" and her "comments."
In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with swearing or cursing or whatever you call it. None of the Ten Commandments say anything like, "Thou shalt not drop thine F-bomb." The closest thing would be "Honor thy father and mother," and that one only applies if your parents don`t like swearing.
A lot of crazy Christians (not all Christians are crazy - I`m a Christian... okay, bad example) say that people swear because their vocabulary isn`t big enough for any other words... well, my vocabulary includes seven extra words that some Christians` vocabularies do not include. So there!

If you deal with emergency phone calls for a living and dislike people swearing, go f*ck yourself, getting a f*cking life and a f*cking job at Chuck E Cheeses so that while you may have kids kicking you in the neck, they won`t be using vulgar language while their father lays unconscious on the floor.

I mean, the girl should have said that her dad was having a stroke ASAP, but that is not how to be professional. Why did the dispatcher even sign up for the job if he was gonna do stuff like this?

Call a lawyer, the dispatcher denied her father medical attention. Sue the PD, the arrestinf officers (she was under severe emotional strain at the time of the alleged crime). Her lawyer should get her and the story as much publicity as possible.

Things like this cause me to trust police less and less... When a cop car caused a collision, where the other car (carrying a couple kids that I used to babysit) to break apart and explode into flame, killing one (age five) and permanently crippling the other(age eight), because THE COP SPED THROUGH A RED LIGHT WITHOUT LIGHTS OR SIRENS and he gets some desk job with a PAY RAISE because of it, then I stopped trusting local police. Now, I have no reason to trust really any police officer.

Fire him. Seriously, cops get away with everything.

What if her dad died because the cop spent 6 minutes lecturing the girl, insulting her and hanging up on her instead of sending an ambulance? SURE she was swearing and yelling, but I would be too if I saw my dad like that. If he can`t handle swearing from distressed callers, then he shouldn`t be there.

Probably wouldn`t matter though. Even if he HAD died, they likely would have given him a slap on the wrist and send him back out.

To all those saying she needs to learn manners:

Her initial "What the f**" was BEFORE the call was picked up... she was probably wondering why it was taking so long to answer. Yes.. I know it wasn`t that long, but when you are panicked seconds feel like eternities.

The fact the cop called her an a$$ and a buffoon only fueled the problem, taking it from panic to anger since he wasn`t wanting to help... which is sort of part of the job description.

I know it`s a repost but this di*kwad cop needs more bad publicity.
