I actually agree as well. I graduated high school on just B`s and C`s and occasional A`s in certain classes. As a matter of fact the only reason I was able to graduate was I passed with a D in math lol. I don`t understand people who drop out of school because it`s "hard". Unless you are in Advanced classes it`s pretty simple. I can safely say the hardest most time consuming aggravating thing I ever had to do in high school was the senior paper that you had to do in order to be able to graduate. It had to be a minimum of 10 pages long and you needed to speak about in front of the entire class for 10-15 minutes.

    Ugh...public speaking.

Graduating high school is easy, not really an achievement, even if a school`s curriculum is rigorous there are other schools that will have all but the most uninterested and or incompetent person graduate somehow. however, this might be true only in my school district, and not on other school districts. Either way a stupid act.

To everyone who says they don`t understand why someone would drop out or not be able to finish school, a main reason is lack of parental support. Would you have gone to school everyday if someone didn`t make you? I did well in school and liked it, but I probably would have preferred not to go if my parent`s hadn`t made me.

But, this guy apparently has parental support so he must just be a loser.

Vega, I have my GED. I am a dropout. It is not because I am stupid, or lazy, or anything of the sort. I finished 4 years of highschool, and had 33 credits when I was done. Because of moving from one side of the country to the other, and because of moving from a block schedule to a regular schedule, my credits did not transfer right, therefore, they wanted me to stay in school for almost 2 years longer.
Not all dropouts really have a choice. I know several other people who have a situation similar to mine, and this might be one of those cases.

donthaveone, your list is pretty good, but it seems like most of the people who dropped out of high school went on to success in a "one-in-a-million" career like acting or music. So, unless you plan on being super-talented or extremely lucky, it`s probably better to stay in school.

XfaTedX, when I said stupid act, I meant when the circumstances are under the student`s control, I didn`t mention the schools messing up because I wasn`t expecting it to be that common. then again I go to a good school district, I have seen students screwed over one or two classes, but never a case like yours. still, nothing wrong with G.E.D`s, the way I see it`s as good as graduating.

"Unless they make you take all AP/IB classes and a minimum SAT score of 1300/1600, then it isnt hard"

I go to an all IB school, where you have to take all IB classes (a minimum of three must be HL) and we did have a required SAT score. So don`t make assumptions about other people`s school experience, because mine was impossibly hard.

the reason that saying high school is "sofa king easy" offends me is because that statement belittles the efforts of those for whom high school was rigorous and extremly difficult. I went to an ridiculously strict IB boarding school and High School was by no means easy. I am not saying high school was tough for everyone, but for some people it is really a struggle. Respect that struggle and don`t declare high school "sofa king easy" because, for some, it wasn`t.

Obviously none of you people have taken IB, or you wouldn`t think high school was so easy. Get back to me when you`ve been through my school, then tell me it`s easy. And procker14, I am going to an Ivy League college.

Clarkie, I`m graduating having taken IB and a few of my friends have graduated full IB. Still way easier than college. I am taking their word for it.
And no matter how "hard" high school is, being a drop-out without a high school diploma is even harder.

Everyone at my school took full IB. Including me. I agree with Dairy, high school for me was so much harder then any college could be.

and mcmonkeyman, what kind of idiotic comment is that? What exactly do you suggest I do? Additionally, "Prove it" is such an immature phrase. What are you in, middle school? Give me a break.

:( It makes me so sad to know that people take their education so lightly, standards are low, well that might be true, but you can take it upon yourself to exceed the standards given you. :(
