The color... it burnses us... >.>

Anyway, funny article. Who would go so far as to break the windows, however? Pulling the alarm I could understand, but after that it gets sillier and sillier.

I have had someone call in a bomb threat while working at a pizza joint. She was arrested shortly thereafter while my boss called the police. Apparently, the girl didn`t know about caller ID.

While it`s amusing, the prank caller needs to be drating whipped until his skin falls off his back.

"Perceived Authority" - an interesting psychological tool. Me and a mate went to Kmart a few years back, he went in and engaged a $3/hr nobody in conversation, found out his name, who his superior was, etc. Then I went in, dressed in a suit and with a clipboard on my arm, said "Are you Daniel*? Scott* told me to get you to load these for me". I then went through the shelves of TV`s pretending to consult my clipboard "That one... not that one... not that one... yes, that one..." and he loaded all the ones I`d chosen into my car out back for me while my mate filmed it all from a few aisles away. We then went to the manager and showed him how easy it was for someone to rip off his store wearing a suit and a clipboard. You should have seen his face!

This is the kind of thing that is SO evil that you can`t help but have a begrudging respect for the guy who pulled it off.

I`m not going to call the person who answered the phone stupid, as this seems like a clever prank, BUT if they had asked a few key questions, or at least considered... I donno... that there were guests in the hotel. That they should re-consider pulling the fire alarm? Mabie getting their superior? Yea... not the brightest person.

God, whoever pulled this off is a genius. I want to hear the call, I mean I can`t imagine any possible way of talking someone through the phone into breaking the windows of a hotel. I just can`t.

It is sad that people can respond that way to perceived authority. To those people that are claiming that the receptionist got fooled cause she was just stupid, I think it disregards the fact that people are creatures of fear and routine and it is possible to play on that. As we are not privy to the phone conversation, I would love to have heard that. Admitadly most of us would not be fooled, but then through a lack of training and early morning drowsyness, anything is possible

The employee didn`t bother to check with the manager first? are you kidding? I think the employee should be fired for such a horrible lapse in judgement. it`s like telling some person to go kill themselves as an insult, and then getting in trouble when they actually do...
