What`s with all those plant murderers anyway. Don`t they know everything has a right to live. Just because they can`t speak doesn`t mean they can`t think. Just because science has yet to discover plant motions doesn`t mean they don`t exist. Whatever tree is injured it produces sap. So all you vegans out there to enjoy some syrup with your pancakes. You are really drinking the blood of trees!

How are they being preachy? They have a group for vegans and put up a sign to tell other vegans about it. I believe the only person being preachy in this instance is the meat-eater.

Judgmental Carnivores >.> Just cause us Vegi-Kids wanna hang out with other people like ourselves. It`s harder to find new recipes and stuff than it is for non-vegetarians. Also as a social group it`s nice because we`re looking for people to date who are either open to the way we eat or are the same as us.

Most of us aren`t trying to change anyones eating habits, we`re looking for people like ourselves to hang out with.

This photo post is kind of un-cool.

frumgf, It`s really not that preachy, but the idea that vegans and vegetarians need a support group is a bit ridiculous. The very existence of a nonjudgemental support group means that they think they`re both special and oppressed by the `judgmental` non veg people. The fact that they find their food choices enough to start a support group over can be seen as arrogant. There`s no one trying to keep rights away from vegetarians. There`s no "No Vegetarians Need Apply Signs" in shop windows. Simply feeling annoyed when a vegan botches everyone`s restaurant choices for the night is nowhere near what other groups have faced. I don`t dislike vegetarians. People can eat whatever, I don`t care.

Or on a lighter note, maybe they realized that carnivores have the decency kill their food before they eat it?

a friend of mine was a vegetarian because he had a bad case of acne.
After a 10 years he started eating meat again, because ha really hated being put in that "gay-bio-vegan stereotype"

Its ok to not eat meat, just don`t make a big deal out of it or try to convince others.

Heck the vegans on our campus can be just as annoying and preachy as the traveling ministers that tell us we are all going to Hell.

But its always great, right after the Great American Meat Out, the Agriculture Club throws a Meat In. They hand out jerky, beef sticks, and bologna on the streets. The dumb vegans just dole out flyers saying why meat is bad and how it will make you rape innocent kittens on a full moon.

Yeahhhh and the people here calling them wimpy and stupid ISN`T being judgmental...

For the record, with the kinds of preservatives and crap junk food is stuffed with, a vegan diet WOULD be healthier by comparison. Berries hold a buttdratload of antioxidants, and certain nuts and seeds are full of good things too.

It`s the preachy kind of vegans that need to cool it. I won`t give up my meats, but I sure as hell could tone it down too.

What about organically raised, steroid free beef and farm fresh, cage free eggs? You know, not all non-veggies eat nothing but junk food and fast food. Though, I do enjoy both of those myself on occasion.

Are you kidding Kaizen?? I don`t know a single omnivore out there that feels the need to tell the world they eat meat. Usually that only happens when some self-righteous vegan tries to tell the meat-eater how horrible they are for eating meat. Passive agressive?! Yeah, right! It`s passive to throw red paint on people? It`s passive to go to a restaurant and protest, yelling and insulting all the patrons who enter/exit? If people want to be vegans, that`s their choice. Heck, I support it! That just means there`s more for me! What I can`t stand is people trying to put me down for my choice to eat that meat!

The vegetarian, and especially vegan diets are some of the worst diets out there. Vegatables don`t supply the complete proteins needed for healthy living. Pretty much the only food that does is meat. Without the correct proteins the body looks for it elsewhere thus causing "self-cannibalism". Besides health the vegatarian diet is hypocritical. Why do you need meat flavor when you don`t eat meat? I understand if you don`t want to support inhumane treatment of animals, but if you wan`t something done do it.

But, not the PETA way they kill more than they save. Google Vegetarian unhealthy and go to petakillsanimals.com

There are plenty of other ways to get proteins. How do you think vegetarians stay alive? Lol. I would never be a vegan tho... WAAAY too hard-core and crazy!!

We are designed to eat meat. Yes, other protein sources such as tofu and soy do exist but they`re not nearly as high in protein and b-12 (strictly a product only found naturally in animal meat).
What I am against, though, is killing for PLEASURE and fur from an animal that was slaughtered for that only purpose. For example, with cows that are slaughtered, the majority of it`s body is used up and very little wasted. So leather isn`t evil to me. But when it comes to killing an animal only for fur..that comes off as cruel.

Meat not be "necessary for our bodies", but the majority of vegetarians I see do not have adequate diets or substitutions in place, and subsequently suffer from anemia and other deficiencies. There are also cases of people who can`t live without the high protien only meat can provide. It`s how we`re designed why try to fight it? Eat some meat and shut up.

vegans and vegetarians CAN remain healthy with their diets but not without supplements that they would get from meat. and without those supplements and even sometimes with them they can develop serious physical problems and abnormalities. so if u want to drat your body up just so u can have one less thing to feel bad about GO AHEAD! i will laugh as u slowly deteriorate and die

dragosal: How about you shut the hell up about things you *clearly* know nothing about. I`ve been a very strict vegetarian for almost 7 years, and have my blood checked ever year. Guess what? I have no "abnormalities" and no deficiencies. I take a regular multivitamin that anybody (meat eaters included) should take. Jesus Christ. There are healthy vegans and healthy meat-eaters just like there are unhealthy ones. Eating meat doesn`t automatically make you super healthy and does not make it impossible to be deficient in nutrients or whatever. Get a drating brain you enormous tool.

"Well Ricky, I made it myself. The secret ingredient is cow blood."
    "hehe, good one, Dave."
"No, really! And don`t worry. I know you`re a vegan and don`t want animals to suffer, so I kill the cows as soon as they leave the womb!"

    Technically we`re omnivores.
Vegans are morons! They don`t think what would happen to the animal population if everyone became vegans like them. 1st thing that would happen: A lot of animals that are raised by humans for meat would go extinct. After thousands of years of domestication, they wouldn`t be able to defend themselves in the wild and would die of exposure, starvation, or being eaten.
The 2nd thing: where in the hell would we get all those veggies to feed the earth? We would have to clear out so much land to use as farmland, we would probably cause the extinction of hundreds of species of animals. There would be an inherent break down of government in third world countries that rely on outside assistance for nourishment. The US` main export is corn, and only about 10% of corn grown here is actually edible. The rest goes into feed for livestock.

Oh, and ZenDragon, you just contradicted yourself in 2 sentences. You said you weren`t preachy, and then judged c

I can`t believe some of the stupidity here, it`s kind of sickening. Seaker:
    1. I think you missed the point. They`re against animal cruelty, not for the preservation of certain breeds.
    2. This is very LOLable. Are you kidding? Do you not know that it takes land to raise animals and it`s MUCH less efficient than using it to grow vegetables?

I can`t believe all the stupid misconceptions here, but it`d take forever to get through them all. It`s like you`ll believe any half-baked idea regarding vegetarianism that your idiotic friends will tell you because it supports your current opinion that vegetarianism sucks.

vegans would bother me so much less if they didnt shove all that organic crap at me. If we devoted all of our farmland to organic farming, we wouldnt have enough food for a large amount of people. plus, come to think of it organic farming is already practiced in a part of the world and it sucks. that part of the world is africa.

Csrmen the only animal that uses a lot of land that we raise for food would be cattle. Chicken, pork, and fish all use little to no land. You totally missed my point. World wide veganism would cause so much land to be allocated to farming, there would be massive amounts of domesticated animal death, due to the fact that no one wants to raise cattle, pigs and chickens for fun. This would cause human induced starvation, just like a person who doesn`t feed their dog. That is animal cruelty.

Oh and I didn`t say being a vegetarian sucks. It is very healthy for you. But you have to be one for the right reason: personal health. Vegans think that consuming ANYTHING that has to do with animal death is wrong. So say good bye to leather, jello, mayo and a ton of products that uses animal products.

People with low blood levels of vitamin B-12 and folate may face an increased risk of developing Alzheimer`s disease. Vitamin B-12 plays an important role in maintaining nerve cells, and some research has linked low blood levels of the vitamin to Alzheimer`s and mental decline. In a study of 370 men and women aged 75 and older, investigators found that those with low levels of either vitamin were twice as likely as those with normal levels to develop Alzheimer`s over a 3-year period. Vitamin B-12 is found in animal products, including meat, fish, eggs, and milk. Vegetarians are frequently deficient in vitamin B-12.

Stupid vegetarians are deficient in b12, same way a lot of stupid "carnivores" are deficient in several vitamins since they don`t eat their greens. Either way, a simple multi-vitamin fixes you right up. And we`re not "predators", most species that are omnivores are scavengers. Our ancestors ate whatever they could find or kill, animal, vegetable or mineral.

    This comparison is epic.

This has probably been said, but... Hey veg-lovers! If we don`t get enough vitamins and all that from meat, then why did the human race live this long? Balanced diet means, well, balanced. Equal weight to both parties.

    That means meat.

I love how vegans talk about how meat-eaters are so deficient in vitamins and minerals that would be otherwise found in fruit or vegetables but seem to ignore the fact that they are deficient in all the nutrients in meat like essential fatty acids.
Most vegans are weak for a reason, they don`t eat enough calories and thus have no energy, and no excess to grow.
Sorry to go off topic by the way, the picture was good.

Now, take away the "mu" and you`ve got a whole different story.

Avoiding all the drama of this post, I just wanted to point out the onbious flaw in this picture, that most humasn are not carnivores. Carnivores eat meat ONLY. Omnivores eat meat and other things, humans are omnivores. You try being a carnivore, and no matter how awesome you are, you`re likely to have a heart attack at the age of 50.

I don`t care about any of the bullpoo arguements anymore, but let`s face non-meat diets are diffivcult for the majority of people to maintain. Culturally non-meat diets come from places of extreme historical famine (find one that`s not), and often have their own drawbacks. The most healthy diets in the world contain both vegies and meat especially seafood. Japanese diet pretty much tops the list. So it`s hard to argue that non-meat is the way to go, when the alternative delivers a better result. Besides, when is the last time someone got bent out of shape about you talking about how to cook brocoli? Talk about steak in front of some vegetarians and they have to leave the room. Meat eaters are clearly heartier stock lol!

Vegans aren`t weak. But they`re often like the dude that constantly in your face about the importance of a $200 hand pumped water filter, when you can get the same results by filtering the water with a $0.02 coffee filter, then boiling it. You get similar results, but he`s still an obnoxious douche.

My grandfather is vegetarian and is the healthiest person I know. His kids can`t go a week without a steak or half that time without some fish; but they`re just as healthy. The reason? In their words: "It`s not what you eat, but how you live."

Preachy vegetarians and vegans rag on true omnivores so much, they deserve to be ribbed back every now an then.

BTW: If you need a support group for a diet you chose, with similar benefits to the alternative, which you can leave any damn time you chose, and which no one`s really persecuting you about. . . Then THAT`S what makes you a wuss. And you need a whole `nuther support group.

    Seaker:
*shrug* you make a lot of assumptions. Were it to actually get to the point that no one ate meat or used animal products, there would probably be advocacy groups that protect/look after them. Whether that happened until they died off or people adopted them as pets, who knows. Saying something`s wrong because "if everyone else did it, ____ would happen", especially when there are too many other factors, is just not sensible. Also yes, some animals take up less land when they`re shoved into tiny cages and have no land to roam. But there are free range farms.

Also for those suggesting VEGETARIANS can`t get any/enough B12, you`re thinking of vegans. Dairy products contain B12.

Being a vegetarian for health reasons alone is silly. You can be healthy eating moderate amounts of meat, that says very little about the rest of your diet. I`m a vegetarian for ethical reasons. I don`t shove it in peoples` faces though, there`s enough people out there making me look bad alre

Also I find it funny that people say you shouldn`t be vegetarian because you have canine teeth. I think you completely missed the point of evolution... it involves change.

On it being "unnatural" because many vegetarians take supplements - why does this even matter? How "natural" is all the processed garbage that most people here eat, anyway?

On vegetarians/vegans being "weak", are you serious? Any flak I took for vegetarians being "weak" was usually from some insecure fatso or scrawny dork, neither of which had any measurable amount of strength. The only others that ever said anything were the idiotic jocks that think eating meat makes them macho and superior.

On protein - for the average (nonathlete), most Americans get more protein than they need. Either way, it`s not hard at all to get it into the diet unless you just don`t know what contains protein (nowadays we have something called the Internet for these things, you may have heard of

Carmen, being a vegan for ethical reasons is hypocritical.

At what point do you say enough is enough when it comes to killing animals? Are insects considered animals? Is shearing a sheep, to use it`s wool, unethical? What about hunting wild animals? Is that unethical? What about certain animal overpopulation(like Wild Turkeys)? Should they be hunted and given a swift death rather than starve? To have a set answer like, "I refuse to eat or use animal products is wrong." is extremely closed minded. Now to say something like, "I will only eat free range chicken, because this chicken wasn`t cooped up all it`s life and was treated humanely." is much more sensible than swearing off all animal products. Something to point out to you, as I grew up in an agricultural rich area of the country. When those wheat and corn harvesters come, do you know how many animals they kill when they run through those fields?(mainly rabbits and squirrels) Also do you eat chees

Sounds like you`re shoving it people`s faces to me hypocrite... Also tell me how eating plants, which are living, is any more ethical than eating animals? also i`m vegetarian, and in response to Seaker`s insects point, I dunno bout vegans, but I just try and avoid intentionally killing insects. vegans are a bit pointless really, as just to live you`re body is constantly killing living things. for me its about limiting my impact, and i wud never last more than a day as a vegan anyway (i love cheese!).

Jesus people, seriously who cares if someone eats something else why do you care I don`t mind if people eat meat why should you be any different in saying that people should or should not eat meat you have your opinion i have mine that`s what makes us different difference in most part is good.

"the tru bob: You`re the ignorant fool your dratwad toolbag. Do you see no difference between taking a machete to a carrot and a machete to a cat? Ever heard of something called the drating central nervous system? Nerve endings? drating dippoo."
No, I don`t see the difference, unless of course you are not going to eat the cat you killed, you are still killing something to survive, so how is it any different to kill an animal than it is a plant? I don`t give a rat`s ass about your "but ANIMALS have FEELINGS" crap, so you think animals are more important because they can feel pain? Humans have to kill things to survive, people really surprise me with their ignorance sometimes. Besides, by eating those plants, you are indirectly killing other beings by taking their food supply away anyway. I don`t really care that people are vegetarian, but I hate when people act "holier than thou" like they are morally correct for some reason. Morals are useless, everyone

I`m sorry, but how is this "spreading their manifesto"? It`s not a big sign telling people to go vegan. It`s simply advertising a support group for those that are, or are considering it.
