Those are on my `do they exist or not` list, somewhere between UFOs and bigfoot.
similar when something is protested against, so they used that to their advantage.
btw...christians need to get over it....protesting the protesters shouldn`t make them cry...if it does....maybe they shouldn`t protest....
ah well video games are video games rwar
No pun intended.
You should watch Zeitgeist and that could change your opinion
I`m no expert, but I`m almost positive that throughout history and cultures, one group or another has been singled out and treated differently than everyone else. Whether it be because of race, religion, physical appearance, ethnicity, tribal affiliation, intellect, income...The examples are too numerous to mention. Right now, in our micro IAB culture, it just so happens to be mainly Christians and Southerners who find themselves the subject of ridicule. Not saying it`s right or wrong, just saying.
If undeniable proof is presented.
There, happy? Now continue to chill, and have a nice day :)
You say: "No one is saying it`s okay to do what EA did"
The board says: "LOL making fun of Christians is all right by me.""Of course its alright"Etc.
Yea, but the religious aren`t as cool as the non-religious so it`s okay to make fun of them. :P
No one is saying it`s okay to do what EA did, all we`re saying is that because of the stunt, "Dante`s Inferno" got the attention the company wanted.
Morally speaking I mean.
And you`d have no problems?
Well great, except of course the tremendous pile of bullpoo that is. You would be more than offended. You`d be in here as soon as the link "outing" it got posted whining about the religious right.
EA may have been playing on the idea that people will be more likely to play a game if they think it`s somehow taboo or "forbidden"; it adds to the excitement (and the graphics looked pretty darn amazing, if you ask me). Whatever their motive, it probably worked.
Seems like a sound marketing strategy to me.
christianity is bum anyway.
don`t get me started on the gigantic load of poo they tried to pull here.
And why do religious organisations have the right to use people for their own selfish means? Because that`s exactly what they do.
When I first heard about Dante the poet going through hell rescuing his girlfriend from Satan, instead of her being his guide through heaven I just laughed.
It`s like rewriting Romeo and Juliet with miniguns and Matrix moves.
First they ruin Spore with their DRM restrictions, now this? No thanks.
Well then, SOMEONE has a bright future in video game design...
If you`re being sarcastic, I must applaud your humor and wit.
@videogamerNah, that`s not the Devil, that looks more like one of the biblical giants. Can`t remember his name right now.
Sure are a lot of complainers these days. Every other week you hear of a very minor thing on T.V, nothing terrible.
Some however take it far too seriously and phone in to complain. Shame they have nothing better to do.
Yes, that IS completely wrong. Hell is not cold, it is a real place and is all flames, where those who reject God`s message of salvation are doomed to spend eternity being burning in unrelenting agony with no relief.
But on the plus side, modern churches say God loves you, and given the alternative, you`d better hope the f*ck they`re right...
Guess what. It already has.
Dante is FIGHTING the Devil? In a burning pit? That`s completely wrong. In the poem, the Devil is just a miserable lump of sadness frozen from the waist down in the coldest reaches of Hell.
Plus, they just buy up every promising, young developer group and then just publish the titles. They don`t really make anything. "
Which is why i like EA
Plus, they just buy up every promising, young developer group and then just publish the titles. They don`t really make anything.
Even more than Sony.
I could understand a religious protest if EA made a game called "Uber-Awesome-Zombie-Cyborg-Ninja-Jesus." But sadly, no such game exists. Come on EA, GET TO IT!
Oh yeah, before the anti-Christian dogs get unleashed...Weren`t there some monogamous homosexuals they should have been bothering?
Said it first.
