Foie gras makes me want to cry. They keep those ducks and geese in little goose caskets ans shove fatty corn down their throats to make their livers get huge. They then kill the bird to eat its liver. See you later guys. I need to go forget the look on that duck`s face.

They get sad when they see a lion eat a cute little deer or something without considering that the lion would starve to death. If an ugly species of rat was gonna go extinct many fewer people would care than if some cute little bunny was about to go extinct."

True dat. My local airport is overrun with rabbits, they`re a danger to planes taking off and landing, so there`s a cull on them. The backlash has been out of this world... people were literally chaining themselves to the outer perimeter fence to stop the cull.

One wonders if the protests would have been as loud if it was an infestation of black rats rather than cute little bunnies.

How do you measure the value of 1 animal`s life? I used to stomp snails while walking to school back when I was a kid. Is that different than stomping kitties? Are cats more alive than snails? Where do you draw the line? You see hundreds of people grieve when a whale beaches itself, but nobody cares about the sand crabs that are crushed underfoot as the swarms of self-righteous activists skitter around the sand trying to push that fat bastard of a whale back into the ocean. Is that whale`s life worth more than the life of all those sand crabs?

When you harvest the fruit of an organic, pesticide-free orchard, millions of insects are killed in the process, bird nests are knocked out of trees, field mice burrows are crushed by the equipment, and the animals that used to live on the land are pushed further into the wilds by the expanding farm. How is this any different than killing and eating a cow?

No matter who you are, if you live, animals will die because of it. Get over it.

1.PETA sucks, they kill more animals than they save.

2.whoever said animals don`t have souls is stating opinion not fact. AND in my opinion, animals can express emotion and intelligence, not rational thought although maybe to a certain degree some can. and that leads me to believe that maybe animals do have souls.

3. i do eat meat but we all must agree that slaughter houses are inhumane and do not make it "quick and painless", i don`t think it`s immoral to eat animals but i do think we should make it as painless for them as possible, to inflict unnecessary pain is immoral. that being said a fatty liver at least in humans can be painful and lead to cirrhosis. im pretty sure its not comfortable for the poor duck. and i know that fois gras is a delicacy abroad and pretty much a national dish in france but we don`t accept eating dog just because the vietnamese do it.

4. i just feel bad for the drating thing.

5. we should all try to eat on a lower entropic level

Important point to remember though...Domestic animals like this Goose and Bunnies wouldn`t even exist if it wasn`t for us, they were made to be eaten.

2) even wild rabbits are in England thanks to the hungry french men bringing their food with them

I agree with veggieman. pic a side.
but just because we are a more superior species then the rest of the living creatures here on earth (maybe exept the bugs?), don`t mean we should treat them as crap.
Idk if we can call our mind a "soul"
*sigh* I think we all are just made out of a bunch of tiny cells that`s cooperating to survive.

Don`t mess religion in to this, please, do not include religion into this debate.

I`d say, lets kill the neccesary amount of animals we need to supply us with enough food. don`t kill the rest. treat the animals we kill for food with respect b4 death. just because we are on top of the food chain do not mean we should act like douches. They are just animals like our selfs with just a bit more simple and less complicated mind, they still feel pain like we do, so kill them as humanily as possible, noone likes to be probed in the ass to death

Yeah, but there aren`t as many other things now as a result. Seriously, I don`t know why pictures of animal abuse which are actually very upsetting to some people are accepted and glorified whereas my submissions don`t even get a glance because they don`t have [Pic] on the end. This isn`t the sort of thing I would expect on IAB, as you can see a lot of people have been quite upset by it.

Sorry for ranting, I know I`m probably taking it all a bit too seriously, I`m just starting to question what is considered entertainment these days.

Now, like I said, duck liver is good, I like it, but doing so in a natural manner is better for the duck and the final product. The liver gets big anyhow in the duck, they just make it go alot faster.
