How is that easier than maximizing a picture and unplugging his mouse?? lol But that is pretty cool, didn`t know that was even possible..
Anyway, they`re at least partially operational even if they do break like that, so the guy really was an idiot, and this `prank` is still pretty pathetic.
Oh and I forgot to add... if the resolution of the image didn`t match the monitor`s native, then there would have been distortions - an obvious giveaway.
How in the heck is that way supposed to be easier? I`d much rather just click "Open Windows Picture viewer" and be done with it. O_o
Very true; likewise he should have noticed the keyboard and mouse unplugged when he unplugged the monitor, but I suspect he was in a state of extreme panic by then and not thinking clearly.
*POUND RANDOM LETTERS*
And when he switched the cable and the monitor showed its diagnostic message (with no cracking) he should have figured out it wasn`t a problem with the monitor...
What are you tripping dude. Look up smashed LCD on youtube. That`s exactly what they look like smashed.
Ok the surface of LCDs is plastic, they`re not glass like CRTs, you can`t crack one.
If it was `cracked` then it wouldn`t also be on and running fine.
If the screen was `cracked` such that it was still bright (the cracked image has different colors, its not just black), then there`s no reason why the mouse and keyboard wouldn`t also work. A monitor merely displays things, your computer would work fine without it.
I don`t know if these people are stupid or just new to this. Mabie a little of both.
My dad`s LCD on his laptop cracked in the same way displayed in this video. It doesn`t appear to be cracked like glass when you touch it. It just appears cracked on the inside, which is why this prank works so well.
Make sure that screensavers and sleep mode are set to "off." It helps if the screen doesn`t turn black within the first five minutes. >_<
I`m going to try this.
"What the FARK have you done to the computer, Willow!??!?! If you do something you TELL ME. YOU DON`T JUST PRETEND YOU HAVEN`T DONE IT AND LEAVE IT"
make this picture the computer`s background
CTL+ALT+DEL > Processes > right click on explorer.exe > end process
This ends the main windows process, leaving only an unuasable background pic (the broken screen pic). So then he won`t ever notice an unplugged mouse if it has lights on it.
How funny would it be if he broke everything else while attempting to "fix" his screen?
