Adorable, but yeah, roosteratiels are notorious for those kinds of escapes. I prefer hinged cage doors that have a locking bar for my birdies.

Anyone who`s ever owned a roosteratiel finds this completely unimpressive

I had a pet rat in a cage like that and it managed to escape as well so i don`t know how impressive that is for a bird ;)

smart birds. A simple latch will stop em though. On that cage you could use a paperclip, or twisty tie.

My budgie used to get out of way tougher cages than that. But then she`d do disgusting bird things like poop on the lamps... and build a nest behind the bookcase....

I swear my cawkatiels try to open their cage door like that sometimes...but I honestly think they are too dumb to even try it lol so maybe they just like to make alot of noise and wake me up in the morning =P

just put a lock on it.

nice choice on the music in the background, "we gotta get out of this place, if it`s the last thing we ever do" as the birds are escaping.

I once had a bird that could open a cage like that. And when I added a twisty tie to keep it closed she managed to untangle that too. I would up buying a mini lock for the door to the cage.

    mrGuy,

these animals are smart! my birds food was too hard so he would soak it in water for an hour before he ate it. he was a little older than his cage mate so he would cut pieces of dried fruit for him.

lol, ya, birds. did you guys see the video of a crow breaking out of a cage, opening a combination lock (he`d seen it opened once) and take cash out of a wallet?

Opening the door was pretty cool, but the best part was when he held the door open from the outside. I couldn`t figure out if he was holding it for the other bird or trying to teach the other bird how to open it. Either way, it`s a win.

My quick fix for my parrot was to put key rings on the doors I don`t often use and carabiners on the others.

My parakeet used to do this to get to me. He was so clingy. It was adorable! He followed me around like a little puppy..
