The dog didn`t seem bothered by it. I guess as long as the animal doesn`t mind it, it`s a great way to get them clean. Yeah, I`d love to see how a cat reacts to that thing. It would probably claw your eyes out as soon as you open the door.

I`m pretty big on animal rights and such, and I just don`t see how this is cruel? Sure its a little scary, but the animal isn`t going to get hurt and they do need to be cleaned..

I bet your not a dog owner! My dog LOVES water. Pools, hosepipes, baths..it`s all fun for her!

I have to lock her out of the bathroom because she thinks it`s fun to try and get into the shower when I`m getting ready!

Then again..she likes to wear a t-shirt as well. Sometimes I wonder if she`s a bit wrong in the head!

MADDOG are you CRAZY!!!?? That is downright cruel. Can you imagine what they are thinking. First off, your putting them in a glorified water microwave and then blasting them with soap and water...that`s drated up!!!!!!My 4legged son would have hated that. That is cruel, and I am sure VERY uncomfortable!! I had to wear a swimming suit and get in the bath tub with him in order for me to give him a bath...from 6 weeks to 17.5 years he hated baths....

My son wore t-shirts too and PJ`s to bed everynight, socks, boots and a jacket in the winter and...well you get the idea.

Unfortunately, he`s gone now..he in doggy heaven! |-(

Just slighty unbalanced with homicidal tendancies, why?

Hey I wouldnt stick my dog in that thing, but dogs dont hate water (well a lot of dogs). I dont belive this machine is cruel persay, I think it will depend on the nature of each dog and some obviously wont like it.

One of my dogs (the one in my default pic) would have a heart attack if I put him in this thing and turned it on. If I turn on a hose with him nearby, he immediately finds someplace else to go pretty quickly.
The other one loves water and actually plays in the sprinkler when I`m watering the lawn, so she`d probably like it.

Some dogs won`t mind, some will freak out if they`re put into it. It depends on the dog.

If the dog freaks out, then it`s cruel to put that dog into it.

If the dog is blase about, or likes to play in water, then it`s no big deal and pretty convenient.

PETA is a dangerous, hypocritical organization. They kill more animals than they save. I think they have done more to set back the animal rights movement by their very existence.

I think it remains to be seen whether the dogs will put up with it... he got in pretty readily the first time but will he go in the next?

And the dog may feel it is unpleasant but I wouldn`t call it cruel. It`s a bath. I didn`t like getting haircuts as a child but I wouldn`t describe my parent`s treatment as cruel. Sure I cried and whined and screamed... but it was just a haircut.

anyhoo, seen one with the cat too. few left comments that I agreed with, well if a kid took a fit because they had to take a bath you would still make him take a bath wouldn`t ya? so if your pet takes a fit, it will be over with soon, won`t kill it

Mean - if they`re afraid of taking a bath in the first place, shoving them in a dark container under a spray of water isn`t really going to help. They`ll probably hate you. And kill you when you`re sleeping.

Hi, I just would like to clear some points.
The man you can see on the video is the owner of the dog and also a customer.
I didn`t create that cabin but the concept which is a dog washing place where pet’s owner can wash them easily without dirtying their bathroom.
The automatic cabin takes the concept of a water jets shower obviously softer than for humans (nothing is turning inside the washing space for people which were thinking this). Shampoo is similar of a shampoo for baby adapted to dogs and cats (doesn`t hurt eyes and hears).
In case of dog`s panic, owners can push the stop button or open the door. After washing something like 50 dogs in 7 opening weeks, I’ve never see problems with dogs. You can use too a manual washing cabin.
I saw a lot of dogs very cool inside the cabin and that was surprising the owner because they said to me that it was a pain to wash them by hand.

no, no, no, no....anyone who owns a dog and is too damn lazy to bathe them in a way that doesn`t involve electricity and an enclosure just shouldn`t be a dog owner. What a crock! Poor dog...bath time should be fun not torture.

The French are not my idea of animal friendly people anyway (I lived there for years) so I`m not surprised they invented this contraption.

As far as putting a cat in there...besides the entertainment value...NOT!

I`m all for anti-animal cruelty, but the dog seemed just fine, and quite happy. No harm done. :D

Those are actually real dog washers. They usually use them for cats in grooming parlours so they don`t get all scratched to hell lol.

I`m all for advances in technology.
I`m also all for not having to wash my dog myself xD

But there are so many reasons why this would be a bad idea.

My main problem with this is that many dogs, mainly large dogs, are claustrophobic, and would freak out in that small of an area. Also applies to kennels, which are annoying to get a dog used to. This being said, an older dog may have a heart attack.
