How A Phantom Oil Leak Will Ruin A Motorcycle Race

Instead of stopping the race, the race marshals at the Nurburgring just stand and watch as top riders crash horribly.

Also the marshalls were crap, especially as it is a German track, so you would expect them to be well drilled and super efficient.

If memory serves me right the race director got a bit of a bollocking after the race finished.

Ah well at least Foggy won. Guys a legend.

I remember this well. Was gutted for Edwards as he`s one of my favorite riders.

Max, they don`t use antifreeze in racebikes, cause it`s too slippery in a crash if it gets on track. They just use water.

I wish they showed this type of racing in America, NASCAR is so boring and requires no skill whatsoever.

But yeah, i see your point, not likely to freeze up during a race, so you may as well just put water in and forget the old poly-ethylene glycol, so sorry.

"oil or anti-freeze? Well, unless your a dumbass, bikes, Especially in races do not use anti-freeze... and those flag holders are crap. fixed race."

My Girlfriends CBR600 uses antifreeze as it is WATER COOLED, my 1200 bandit streetfighter does not use antifreeze as it is OIL COOLED. My old Z1000A1 had neither it was AIR COOLED. Live and learn "dumbass" but S.T.F.U. unless you have a clue what you are talking about. Blimey, that was a proper ignorant flame wasn`t it? Yes I would say that to your face.

Wow, this is the problem with the internet... you can never get the conclusion. I want to see when they tied that flag guy to the back of one of their bikes and dragged him around.

@Yokel. NASCAR is an oval track, which you go around in one direction, and is cambered for the turns. It aint racing.

i never really like superbike racing. to dangerous for me.

NASCAR has much higher saftey standards. you would think that ater ONE wreck, they would have at least done something.

"Lol american tools dont know how european racing is done. Its not an oval track where the racers just go in circles. Nurburgring is a huge track.. it would be impossible to stop the race even if they wanted to. Also there isnt someone with a caution flag at every turn of this huge track."

Lol canadian tool doesn`t know how european racing is done. They could have the teams radio their drivers and stop the race until they get the track cleared up. This corner is right beside the pit lane so they could easily get someone waving a flag. In fact, at 0:33, someone is waving a yellow warning flag off to the right of the screen. Also, these commentators are English, not American.

Six spills, all the fault of the marshalls. Great TV. Your man Chili was walking back to the pits like he`d crapped himself

Are the officials allowed to take a lunch break? Doesn`t seem safe to walk away from a race like that...

Hey now, for those of us yanks that have played Grand Turismo...we know EXACTLY how big that #"!%¤ track is. ;-) LOLOL. It`s a BEAST!

That said, jeez...how could they have stood there and allowed this to happen. They`re lucky all that happened was some skids...could have been much worse, especially with how many were going down at the same time and it being right on a curve!

No matter what, they allowed it to get to the point that winning that race loses all credibility, when you know the level of competition was wiped out compeletely. It`s like running a foot race with a sniper popping off 75% of the other runners. Sure, you may win, but how awesome were you really considering most of your competition got thrown out through no fault of their own? Bad officiating indeed. ._.

I believe they said it was the 4th corner of the track so that means they shortly before hand crossed the finish line which i am 100% sure they had someone manning with flags at which they could have stopped the race. Not to mention the guy also said it should have been stopped 8 laps ago....So they had ample time to stop the race.

Wow. I wonder if they are allowed to stop the race or not. The least they could have done is clean the track after the first one broke down.
