...I`m actually from Detroit X-(
I personally adore Chicago, and the Bean.
To each their own I suppose.
Basically, Cleveland is at the center of the Manufacturing Belt of the US, which extends primarily from NYC, across northern Pennsylvania/southern NY border, around the shore of Lake Erie, extending west to Chicago, and including most of Michigan.
Of course, the manufacturing belt is commonly referred to as the "rust belt," given that most manufacturing has moved out of the US. Large cities such as NYC and Chicago are big enough to not rely completely on manufacturing jobs, but cities such as Buffalo, NY, Erie and Pittsburgh, PA, Cleveland and Toledo, OH, most of Michigan, and Indianapolis, Gary and Fort Wayne, IN had almost purely manufacturing economies.
What made things worse is that, in addition to the big companies moving out of those cities, many relocated their headquarters to areas such as NYC, LA, or Chicago.
I think every city in America should be happy that they aren`t Detroit.
I LOL`d at the art sculpture.
