@ollie:dont post opinions on iab. they dont like that.
But it`s adorable you think your flaws are a result of our "spinning" your contribution. High five, buddy!
Actually, I found them both to be equally unfunny.
@Skibi "Also, Ollie, Jon`s focus was more on the inanity of spending five minutes reporting that the prez went for fast food, and also poking fun at how slowly Obama ordered.
"Dijon was not mentioned once."
Okay, I get it.
Fox: Obama is elitist.Comedy Central: Obama is retarded.
I guess retarded is funnier than elitist. At least that was the joke when Bush was in office.
@TR-Wolf "OldOllie: One is a comedy show making light of a silly situation, the other is a news channel making an actual news report on it."
You obviously have never watched Fox or you would know that Hannity is not and has never claimed to be a straight news program.
Sorry guys, I`m not buying the spin. But thanks for playing our game.
But yeah, a NEWS report on the type of relish the president has on his burger? If that`s all they can snipe at him for, he must be doing a pretty good job generally.
Dijon was not mentioned once.
Actually, Ollie, the main difference might just be that John Stewart was actually funny, while Hannity failed miserably at his attempt (if he was trying) to be funny. What that does is make the Daily Show version seem like a lighthearted take on the whole situation, while the Hannity clip feels more like an attempt at a slight on the president himself.
So why are you ripping on Fox and not Comedy Central? I guess that wouldn`t fit the template (Fox = BAD, conservatives = BAD).
You`ve... you`ve completely rocked my world. I always thought you guys KNEW you weren`t funny, but tried anyway just so you could claim liberal bias when your jokes failed.
Dear God, you can laugh at stuff like this without even a trace of a sneer, sarcasm, or pity?
holy poo, an insult targeting former president bush`s intelligence? WITTY! ORIGINAL! PURE GENIUS!
What did you expect, he`s from the Midwest.
I cannot wait until I escape this ignorant, and arrogant nation filled to the brim with idiocy. At least Obama is capable of making intelligent decisions regarding our nation`s course, unlike our previous president.
Oh and"Obama just had Air Force 1 buzz New York. And for those of you who believe he didn`t know, AF1 is on 24 hour stand by to the President alone. It goes NOWHERE without his approval, and certainly not without him being notified at all." Air Force 1 is the call number of the plane the President happens to be on at the time. If he went up in a 2-seater Cessna, that plane would be AF1. The plane itself is a Boeing VC-25, a military version of the 747-200. And the US has 2 of these, not just one. Louis Caldera, director of the White House Military Office, approved the flyover not Obama. I don`t like Obama, but I can`t stand when people make arguments withou
"THIS JUST IN! Obama ties his WRONG SHOE...First!!"
How-low can-ya-go, how-low can-ya-go?
"throw some D`s-jon that!
perhaps the man was a food critic before he was president. sounds familiar hmm?
Wow, Fox is really reaching on this one. Who makes fun of someone because of the condiment they choose? what is this, 2nd grade? oh, its just FOX news. par for the course.
We made fun of Bush because he is borderline illiterate. we make fun of Obama because he likes Dijon. hmmm...
I see Fox as the hokiest news provider. They pick up any story with a bit of flash and the try to push it like hell, throwing in a "right" twist. Most of the others have "left" twists, but their reports have more substance, so people accept it because their news is meaningful.
But they got away with plenty of fluff stories on Bush. No one cared though because it just further vilified the "worst man to ever have lived". So Fox becomes the whipping boy, which it does deserve at times, but the others do not have to worry about accountability.
Now if he ordered Caviar instead of mustard
Nuh-uh!! He started it. :p
I think the better question is: `How many thousands of dollars of taxpayers money did we spend to set-up a motorcade and security so Obama and Biden could go to a burger joint?`
Jesus. I`m a poor college student and I have Dijon mustard. Fox is so desperate...
I don`t think adulthood exists, I think we just get very old children. :(
One example was the time he couldn`t open the door after his presser. Is it really newsworthy to show a President a little befuddled after a technical difficulty. I`d make the same remark with all the news going around with Obama and his teleprompter.
So its fine and dandy to lambaste an unpopular President. But if you take a swipe at the Golden Boy, oh noes, you have no credibility. The fact is all the news networks today suck. But inconsistent sentiments are obviously making people reel against Fox. And people say the media is not in control...
However, 20 years ago (give or take 10 years) there used to be TV commercials in the US for Grey Poupon. You`d see a Rolls Royce pull up next to another Rolls Royce. The men in the back of the car would be eating. One would roll down the window and say "Pardon me, do you have any Grey Poupon."
It was an advertising campaign to try to make people think they had a superior product and that they were fancy. People joke about it some now but good grief the Grey Poupon is on the shelf right next to the yellow mustard at any grocery store.
Fox just has to try to find any way they can to bash Obama. Morons.
If he ever picked his nose they`d rally to impeach him.
Wow, and the fact that there are morons who would think this is news (at Fox or watching Fox) is just pathetic. It`s not news, it means nothing. Get your head out of your ass people!
The news is stupid ;-|
"Oh noe`s. The president likes mustard. NAZI!!"
If it`s not: :|"That`s what I thought at first. After seeing so many conservative "news" reports and comments about what Obama likes on his burger I realized that they`re actually serious...
If it`s not: :|
Oh, so it`s got a french name so it must be "fancy" and not available in ASDA for a pound a pop? What a douche. I`m suprised he didn`t get offended at the word Hamburger. "Oooo fancy name for a Meat-Slab, sissy boy."
