Stupid stunt. Had the game been on the line, and he missed, he`d have his ass beaten by the rest of the team. Totally unnecessary.

Pull that stunt in a REAL save situation and you get a free ride on the bench for the remainder of the season!!

It`s somewhat fake.
the Side referee marked an "offsides" on the other team. THATs why nobody went inside the box for the goal, and then the goalie was like, oh ill try it. so it wasnt a real save.

"Say what you want about Americans, at least we don`t constantly riot or behave like hooligans at our sporting events... I guess you Europeans need SOMETHING to make it worth sitting in a crowded stadium full of drunken louts for over 90 minutes with the final score being 1-nil."

???

say what i want about americans?
i dont need to because i find it impossible to generalise one type of behaviour to millions of people.
you`re just an ignorant f.ucker. Now if you`ll excuse me i need to get in a fight because im drunk.

What this thread has taught me:

Some people like different things, even when it comes to sports. Also, watching people who are too stupid to understand this simple concept yell at each other is absolutely hilarious.

@bobthemime: I`m just amazed that he actually tries to say that "people like me" are the reason the world looks down on the U.S.

Well... I guess my secret is out...

It`s ALL my fault.

I singlehandedly convinced the Bush Administration to act on weak intelligence to further their nefarious agenda.

Oh, and I also am responsible for cancer, AIDS, and Zima malt beverages!

KNEEL BEFORE ZOD... er, OSIRIS!!!

@ibuttPirate: For the 2nd time. BITE ME.
What I posted was meant in jest.
The vast majority here understood that. I don`t see why you don`t, unless you live to troll.

Do you?

ANd for you to make a statement like "I am saying you are the reason other countries civilians hate Americans. Not all of them, but those who are less than aware at why their countries hate Americans, so they blame individuals like you for being as sho les for no reason" is troll-like behavior of the first order.

The world looks down on the U.S. because of the foreign policy of the previous administration.

NOT because I was taking the piss out of a few soccer fans.

I`m done here. I will NOT feed the troll.

I DO find it amusing that someone not old enough to vote would come across as such a pompous ass.

did anyone actually read that bit^^^^^^^?

surely i explained why what he did is considered norm in sports....would ya say a bicycle kick pointless and show-offy?

and as Jtwalker said, he was off his tits 24/7, s for him to even manage to do it was a miracle, and offical reports show he did the save seconds before the whistle blew for offside....

"Say what you want about Americans, at least we don`t constantly riot or behave like hooligans at our sporting events... I guess you Europeans need SOMETHING to make it worth sitting in a crowded stadium full of drunken louts for over 90 minutes with the final score being 1-nil."

Unprovoked and unnecessary.

And what bobthemime said is not necessarily true, as i am not a fan of nachos. That and i play soccer, but i am not defending Europeans for once because i play soccer, I am defending them because you are being a giant douche for no apparent reason.

being welsh i`m miffed we lost....but that was an A-FECKING-MAZING match, a well deserved win by Ireland tbh...

...and as i stated before football is dull and full of pretentious twats, but at least once in a while theres a good game played, with amazing fotball skills...but amfoot is duller than studying paint drying in a cold room in winter in idaho, hell even amateur golf is a more fun day out.

@ibuttpirate: bite me.
I am most certainly NOT the reason the world is less than pleased with the U.S.

It is because of eight years of a war-profiteering presidential administration that turned a blind eye to and participated in rampant greed regardless of the cost to the very people it was sworn to protect.

I seriously doubt our European I-A-B brothers and sisters took my comments as more than as the Brits would say "taking the piss out of them"

For example, bobthemime came back with the nachos comment, which was not only funny, but somewhat TRUE. We have become a nation of lazy, fat bastards who are too willing to lay blame elsewhere.

"Take note all other countries, not all Americans are like him"

You are correct ibuttPirate!

osirisascend: Football (world. i.e. soccer) is boring? I`ve watched baseball, and American football, and lemme tell you there are no other sports as boring as those. Yeah foot ball can be a little dull, but half of the matches are more entertaining than anything that can happen in American Football.

"Bushy-haired showoff with an unnecessary stunt.

If offsides hadn`t been called, he would have been an even BIGGER tool for doing this.

Soccer (Football to you Europeans) is generally about as exciting as watching paint dry.

Say what you want about Americans, at least we don`t constantly riot or behave like hooligans at our sporting events... I guess you Europeans need SOMETHING to make it worth sitting in a crowded stadium full of drunken louts for over 90 minutes with the final score being 1-nil."

Being American and a fan of soccer...

American Football is BORING.

"Let`s put on some heavy padding and pretend we`re not playing grab ass. Oh, and we`ll have announcers comment about the life story of every player on the team while we`re waiting for the coaches to finish their 5-minute strategy per 2-second play."

Give me Ice Hockey or Soccer or hell, RUGBY, anyday of the week. I don`t go to sporting events to see people be protected from the game, I go to

England (White) v`s Colombia. Friendly at Wembley in 1995. Highlight of a boring 0-0 draw.
Midfielder Jamie Redknapp mipoos a cross and immediately turns around expecting the keeper to easily catch it as he`s hit it right at him.
His teammates start laughing.
He only saw `The Scorpion Kick` on video replay.
The keeper Rene Higuita is also famous for thinking he`s an outfield player and used to bring the ball out himself.
That is until Cameroons Roger Miller stole the ball off him in the 1990 World Cup quarter final and scored, knocking Colombia out of the competition.
