That`s not a Home Depot or a Lowe`s. It`s a warehouse for sure, but the Home Depot shelves beams, posts everything are orange and have large upright columns--at Lowe`s they are grey. You couldn`t take out their shelves with a little bump like that. The barrels of who-knows-what are the dead giveaway--neither Home Depot nor Lowe`s sells anything in 55 gallon drums that would require that much to be on hand...

You`d think that they`d have used a bit more structural integrity on those shelves. At least add a bit of redundancy, cripes.

Oh, and Aussieguy29: Got much of a chip on your shoulder boy? Americans are stupid (according to the rest of the world), and yes we have our share of morons, but American products aren`t exactly known for being particularly shoddy. So if you want to flame Americans, try to do it right you frickin` idiot, otherwise someone might think you`re just another goddam asshat.

"...if you don`t mind paying $35 for something you can get from a big multinational franchise for $2.99"

These places like home depo get their own models of things though and the quality isn`t as good I`ve seen it. A faucet for example will have cheap plastic parts istead of the same model from a supply house which has brass their lumber from what I`ve seen is also horrible which is why you pay less.

I hear you dragonshadoz, old clip, old news. It`s fun to watch clips that circulated the `net a few years ago. What`s not fun is watching a clip that`s circulating the `net on several sites and I-am-Bored.com being the last to post it to it`s viewers.

There`s no way that was his fault. A little tap
I used to drive one of those at a Dollar General warehouse. I have hit the racks a few times, and harder than that. I would have to agree. Crappy shelves.

like that should NOT bring an industrial shelving unit down so easily. Obviously it was a flaw in the construction.

But that`s gotta suck, especially having to face the manager afterward.

SuperSmash

I saw someone slam right the hell into a rack so hard the whole thing shook, but didn`t fall. Such a small tap shouldn`t have done that.

I worked at Lowes about 10 years ago. We had a couple incidences like that but only about half as severe. I actually had a hack of lumber slip on to the back of a flat bed truck while this guys wife was still inside the cab. Let me tell you she was flopping all over the place when that thing hit.

I`d almost have to blame whoever put the racks together. They shouldn`t come down that easy. I used to drive a forklift in a wharehouse and ran into the racks once or twice, but nothing ever fell down. All the forklifts were covered with dents. It looks like the support wasn`t even bolted. It should bend before it comes loose.

Also (sorry if this is becoming excessive) The driver kind of deserved what he got. He was trying to force that stuff through (notice the load of plywood sliding on the forks). Had he taken a moment to raise the load (not always safe, but this case is exception-worthy) he would have been able to get past.

I agree with riotDX the racking could not have been sound to begin with to come down like that, or it was overloaded already.

This actually isn`t Home Depot. The orange racking can be somewhat deceptive, but everything is too crowded together, not aesthetically pleasing enough for Home Depot`s "standards", furthermore, home depot makes their forklift drivers go through so much garbage just to drive the thing (spotters holding flags, barricades, etc.) and none of that is present here. The area is also far too large to be a receiving bay as those are usually just large enough to be functional in unloading merchandise for nearly immediate stocking in front. Far too small for storage. That is just a generic building supply warehouse, at least thats my guess.

Also, that other guy was right, this is a repost.

oh and I`m not sure thats a home depot... even so, I do know that once a little girl got crushed by a slab of granite in a homedepot, so that poo scares me.

I have a lot of experience driving machines in warehouses and specifically at Home depot. You have to be cruising to do that kinda damaage. I`ve seen a lot of poo go down, and it`s hard to do more than dent the steel if your going at areasonable rate. I have seen a few idiots lift a rack and drop pallets before. It`s freaking scary, but that said, workplace injuries are down overall.

Heh...I wittnesed something similar back in the early 90s. Basically one of my co workers at the time crashed about £5000 worth of Jack Daniels into the racking (shelves you see crashing in the vid).

Student jobs do have there funny moments!

Thankfully, there weren`t any customers in that aisle. Hopefully, the forklift driver is ok. . .

What a way to go out though!

I would argue that if it all came down like that, it wasn`t really put up there safely in the first place. OSHA would have a fit.
