Tattooing little kids make tattooing look bad in general. :-(

In the poor districts the only way to survive is to be in a gang, maybe the father was forced to tatoo his son by his gang members? You really shouldn`t talk about things you have never experienced yourself, so all you rich kids zip it.

Agreed, firefliet.

Also those guys are shady looking. Their faces are like, really narrow. O.o; Freakishly narrow. Or is that the camera making it look that way?

That`s just retarded. Who the hell tattoos a kid? You`re damning him to a crappy gang life, as well? Seriously, what douchebag thinks that being in a gang is "cool?"

*if they didn`t close, a tattoo is still worse. Piercing doesn`t hurt nearly as much as a tattoo, and a tattoo is far more conspicuous

"I don`t agree with this at all - BUT - what about when parents have their children’s ears pierced? I’ve seen them having it done in the shops and most of the kids are screaming, so it’s definitely against their will. Just because it’s more accepted doesn’t necessarily make it right. I know you can take earrings out, but when you’ve had them a while they do leave a permanent hole”

I disagree. A tattoo is much more serious then an ear piercing. Only about 24% of the American population has a tattoo, whereas over 60% of the population has a piercing. I know six girls who had their ears pierced as infants and none of them regrets the choice their parents made. They could always take the earrings out and let the holes close: I had my ears pierced for three years and, because of an infection, could not wear earrings for a while. My holes closed. Even

this is not worse than when people of weird religions "force" their kids to be a part of their church or whatever by brainwashing them for the beginning... as a matter of fact I think that applies to the major religions aswell...

that doesn`t mean that this doesn`t suck aswell... just felt like most people accept the religious stuff but then feel that this was WAY out of line...

i am NOT... let me say that again... NOT condoning what the guy did by any stretch of the imagination. but, i think its entirely possible that in some sick twisted way he thought he was protecting him... from who knows what. i`m not saying that`s why he did it... not even saying it was right. seriously stupidest thing he ever could have done and to his own kid... but... people do some crazy ass things to protect the ones they love. i`m just saying...

That`s so stupid. Poor kid. At least it`s small enough to hide. I mean... could have been worse. Could have been on his face.
This is what happens when irresponsible youths have kids.

"So is the kid against it? It`s never really mentionned that the kid was against it. Chances are he probably isn`t"

Let me guess - the dad wasn`t holding him down, he was hugging him.... Yup.. that`s definitely what happened. Good call, mrpopenfresh!

Also, if they did it to make the kid grow up into the gang, it might have been a better idea to not have the name of the gang directly associated with a traumatic memory.

Also, what the heck is with all the twisted stuff happened by where I live?

I have less of a problem with the tattoo itself and more of a problem with the fact that it`s a gang symbol and that the boy was held down against his will. Whatever people say, that isn`t right.

Just because it happens in other places doesn`t mean it`s not a `big deal` that it happened to this kid.
It`s not like the people sympathizing this kid are saying it`s all right that children in Africa are apparently being tattooed against their will.

not our country(ies). that`s up to their government(s) to decide whether or not its illegal. not us. also most of those want their tatoos. this tatoo was given against the boy`s will.

erm.. the point is that hes a bit young to 1) be owned buy a gang and 2) hes too young to understand the ramifications

"Ever watch national geographic? It happens everyday in Africa. I suppose we should send Child Protective Services here."?

WTF.. if its apart of a culture thats a bit different. not when its a douchie father that was too young and immature to have kids accidentally had one and the decides that his kid is tough enough at age 7 to get one of those tattoos. thats just being irresponsible. its different when its apart of a legitimate culture as a right of passage. gang culture is not a legitimate culture here in the U.S. because it consists of immature people going shifty things to get money and causing crime. it is totally unnecessary.

for those of you that think its fine for a little kid to get a tattoo, you are idiots. kids that young dont know enough to make decisions like that and are impulsive. thats why we are supposed to have mature parents

At the very least, it`s not visible so the chances of him getting "gunned down" are low, and probably much lower now that this is out. Still, the sick f*ck father should get arrested. No child should be subjected to that.
I urge you all to go read up on the MS-13 gangs of El Salvador

Why is ANYONE okay with this?

The point isn`t that "he can just get it lasered off," the point is that it was forced on him in the first place.

It`s a sign of the times when kids are being branded by their fathers to decide which gangs they should join...

I can`t believe that some people here are okay with this. Yes, it is a small tattoo that the boy will be able to live with (as long as he isn`t gunned down by a rival gang for the `mistaken` identity) but that`s so far beyond the point, it`s irrelevant. Imagine being a seven year old child and the man you are supposed to look up to holds you down and draws on you...with a needle. When you`re making the conscience choice at 18 to do this, props to you but he had no say. This is what`s wrong in the world; not just the father doing this but the people here thinking it`s not a crime. A sad for humanity indeed.

Isn`t that the Classiest thing you ever heard...
Father, if you want to call him that, puts that on this kid, can you imagine what a wonderful role model he must be. That is his achievement in life..This is what the father does to compensate the lack of his own manhood! In a gang cause alone they ain`t poo! Low I.Q. social misfit!!!
Kid is "marked" now so rival gangs know who to go after. Isn`t his dad just the coolest?
What a Schmuck!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whilst I agree there are some real sickos out there who don`t deserve kids & ol` Enrique there is proving himself to be one of them, I can`t help thinking the story is just a tad emotive - the tattoo *isn`t* going to restrict this child`s options for the rest of his life (it can be covered up & tattoo removal is surprisingly effective these days). Plus tattoos aren`t hideously painful like they make out (yes, I have several). But having said that, no one should be going round tattooing their kids & hopefully Enrique gets what he deserves.
