I love Japan and their giant robots.
Someone has probably asked this by now, but why do all the Japanese clips show people`s reactions in a little box in the corner? Do all of their shows use this annoying technique, or is it just a game show thing? I want to know if these people are just audience members in a studio, or if they are contestants in a show I am not understanding.
The people watching are celebrities in a studio watching the recording. You don`t get to see the whole show on YouTube, but everyone`s gathered together and then they talk about what they`ve watched and do other funny stunts later. You see them to watch their reactions to what they`re watching.
#1: WHAT THE F**K IS THAT THING!?!?!
It`s a giant Rhino Beetle model the guy made all by himself for 11 years. It weighs 15 tons and he made it because he told his wife that he wanted to build a beetle that he could even ride. So his wife said, "Ok you can do it. And when you do, ride it all the way to the garbage can"
#2: How long will it take for them to finalise it? (This is just a prototype, I guess)He said he`s done making it... This is his third model called the Kabutomu RX03
#3: How long after they finalise it will it take for Japan to take over the whole damn planet? He said he`s a protector of the Earth... and he`s not for conquest.
#4: Why the hell do Japanese people need Japanese subtitles when they`re speaking in Japanese?! They`re not like little words at the bottom, either. They`re huge cover-half-the-screen subtitles. The Japanese use subtitles for their Variety TV genres to emphasis the humor/impre
It makes little difference, though, someone else will probably pop in and reference a geography or social studies text that was printed prior to 1954.
Every time I think I`ve seen the height of ignorance or stupidity, some "expert" shows up here and raises the bar yet again.
It honestly makes me question how we`ve managed to survive so long as a species.
I generally try to avoid name-calling here on IAB, but GRadde, you are by FAR the most complete definition of the phrase "blithering idiot" that I have come across here.
Read a book.
Maybe you should check your facts next time before you spout such utter nonsense.
You`re talking rubbish. Japan does have an army, it`s jsut not called an army. It`s called the Japanese Defence Force and they have land, air and water defences. You are right about some things, but others you`re just way off on.
The japanese constitution was changed by the US after WWII, and reads as follows:
ARTICLE 9. Aspiring sincerely to an international peace based on justice and order, the Japanese people forever renounce war as a sovereign right of the nation and the threat or use of force as means of settling international disputes. (2) In order to accomplish the aim of the preceding paragraph, land, sea, and air forces, as well as other war potential, will never be maintained. The right of belligerency of the state will not be recognized.
Thus, they cannot have an army. It says so in their consitution. The US swore to defend Japan, since they forced them to denounce having an army.
Summare: Japan has no army. Japan has no right to an army of any sorts, land, air or water. They are not allowed to attack nor defend their country by force.
Yeah, your right. Let`s give up before the demolish everyone with awesomeness.

you`re missing the point. it LOOKS FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!!
I`m Master of three different martial art forms.
Seriously, what`s the practical use of this thing? Where did he get the money to build it?
The definition of "Army" is:
1. the military forces of a nation, exclusive of the navy and in some countries the air force.
2. (in large military land forces) a unit consisting typically of two or more corps and a headquarters.
3. a large body of persons trained and armed for war.
4. a permanent organization of the military land forces of a nation or state.
Look it up if you need to, but please stop trying to bend the language in order to prove your point. You`re wrong.
You can build a place with four walls and a roof in your back yard, but that doesn`t make it a house.
Defense = Cannot Attack
Army = Can Attack and Defend.
Call it whatever you want.
It`s STILL a military, so no Caboose, Slmmhmmr is NOT right. You need to read up a bit on your history. While Japan signed the documents, the Diet NEVER ratified it. The actual language dictates that Japan`s military is to be used ONLY for defensive purpose. In other words, they are technically prohibited from firing the "first shot".
Since the Diet never ratified it, it is still an unresolved "issue".
And look at the article I referenced in an earlier post. Judging from the military equipment they possess, and persons in uniform at their disposal specifically trained to use it, it`s an Army.
Yet I`m sure another High School age "expert" is going to pop up and tell me with my graduate degree and 20+ years in uniform that I`m wrong.
Japan already rules the world. Stupid.
Why does it surprise you that there are so many ignorant people in America?
Unfortunately, this country has a reputation for a reason...
In response to the medical masks, the people were probably just some of the unlucky ones that are hyper-sensitive to mid-to-high range pollution levels (asthmatics, allergies, etc.). There are some parts of the world where people like that would be committing suicide to go outside without those masks.
In response to the VIDEO...
Jesus Christ, it`s a mech-beetle! Get in the car!
Oh, and uh... Robots will kill us all. Surrender now and they might just enslave you instead.
But of course Japan wants to rule the world so they`ll need a military for that.
Man that guy had some free time. Or was paid a lot.
I`d hate to think that the Japanese NCO`s I have personally trained at the JTF school were just pretending to be soldiers...
rx-01,02 and 03 have been built by this guy, how long untill he hits RX-78
Speaking as a soldier, that looks a whole hell of a lot like an army to me.
And please ask your respective schools to purchase textbooks that were printed AFTER 1954.
I read comments like: "imagine what kind of weird stuff like this theyd have if they could have an army" and "I would say that they would have less interesting stuff if they had a military, because they wouldn`t have all of this extra money to spend on things like giant mech Beetles."
Right now I just want to throw my laptop against the wall.
HOW is it possible that SO MANY of my fellow Americans are SO IGNORANT about the world they live in?
I can just imagine someone invading Japan and being all "well we met very little resistance from the populace... which is weird cos we.... WHY DO THEY ALL HAVE MECHS!!!!!"
...not that I could have built anything like it. Good work!
It looks awesome. Give it speed and capability to make a curve! Maybe some flame-throwers too.
Ya`ll laughed at me...Ya`ll laughed at me.
andWhat`s with the people wearing medical masks at 8:16?
