They`ve said it was fake, and that they put it out as an April Fools Joke. "Outtakes from the Best Funeral Ever shoot, a fake Improv Everywhere mission that was released on April 1, 2009 to fool our fans into thinking we had done something horribly wrong. These are the outtakes, things we shot but didn`t include in the video because they were too over-the-top to make it believable."
Nice prank guys - almost too good, I guess there are people who still think this whole thing was real.
if you intend on drating up the funeral cause youre a retard, ill vote for Erunen and his clown idea
Some ground just shouldn`t be tread on by these people. Kinda feeling like they went over the line here.
I have to agree, if a group of OBVIOUS stangers showed up at one of my relatives` funerals, I`d be snacking some people around.
I found that very offensive. Flashmob fail.
I thought it was just kind of rude. I mean, the people at the funeral must have known that these strangers were mocking them. (I am assuming that it is not a set up.) It is a funeral, not exactly the best crowd.
they could have solved this problem by having the strangers show up separately. or at least not all at once. This would have made it more believable and therefor more funny. the only way I can laugh at this video is if I think that the mourners DONT realize that this is all for a tv show, and if they think that all of these people actually showed up for their grandfather`s funeral. otherwise, you are laughing at other people`s loss, and that just isnt that funny.
I know they were trying not to be disrespectful, but really, they just sort of stood there.
No, that is disrespectful if not an April fools joke.
Huh.It takes all kinds, I suppose.
would you like to go to the funeral of someone who clearly wont have many people showing up with thirty other people to make the family and the deceased feel there loss was not just felt upon them,
Then why were they laughing at the idea of it? It was about fun first and foremost. To quote from their website:
"Improv Everywhere is, at its core, about having fun. We’re big believers in “organized fun”. Our missions are a fun source of entertainment for the participants, those who happen to see us live, and those who read this website."
That said... almost definitely an April Fool`s so I guess it doesn`t matter anyway!!
Funerals are obviously deeply personal times, I would be incredibly offended if this happened at the funeral of one of my loved ones."
They never said it was a joke. I didn`t find any comedy in it at all. It was just supposed to be nice - kind of to let the deceased` family members thinks he had more friends than he did. I guess you would have to have very little friends to understand it.
Would you be honoured if they filmed their `joke` and put it on the internet? Lied to your family about why they were there?
Funerals are obviously deeply personal times, I would be incredibly offended if this happened at the funeral of one of my loved ones.
If that was real - then it was really disrespectful! If it wasn`t, then it was a great April Fools!
I think we got punked. I mean, how did the family not notice that they were being filmed?
And they all looked like people out of the matrix with their long black coats and sunglasses.
On another note.
Davymid..lo mate..long time no see.You seem tense.
