First impressions are everything, even for a rock & roll record. Great video clips to supports the list"s claims too.

Should have had Walk this Way by Aerosmith, at least.

Worst list ever.

No Money for Nothing?
No Back in Black?

Add them all together, and they don`t match up to Close to the Edge.

like a rolling stone?

and the 80s were not rock and roll, they were the death of rock and roll. in other words, f*ck AC/DC.

never heard that waiting room one, but it was kinda catchy
did the person say Iceland was literally the land of ice and snow? (referring to the comment on the page where led zeppelin is) Someone needs to do their homework, Greenland is icy, Iceland is not. dork lol (Sorry I just like to be the annoying know it all now and then)

and I do have to agree Ac/Dc`s back in black one of the best openings

I have no idea if it was an opener but all along the watchtower, remade by jimi hendrix, is easily one of the most epic rock songs of all time.

Holidays in the Sun off Never Mind the Bollocks should`ve been on this list. And Rock`n`Roll Star off Definitely Maybe

I`m pretty sure for number 22 they meant Belfast, Northern Ireland, but I`ll give them the benefit of the doubt that there is a Belfast, Ireland somewhere...

I was going to say that this list sucked... but they sorta nailed the top 10. Of course I could name some things that they missed, and maybe Speak to Me/Breathe isn`t quite a rock song, but the top 10 saved this list entirely.

Nice, but I wouldn`t have put The Beatles anywhere near this list, it being rock n roll and all that.
Anyone that has doubts, check out their cover of Roll Over Beethoven, appalling
Chuck Berry must still be pissed off

"i me mine by the beatles"

That is not the leadoff song on the album - the first song on the "Let It Be" album by The Beatles is called "Two of Us"

"Should I Stay or Should I Go - The Clash."

That is not the leadoff song on the album - the first song on the "Combat Rock" album by The Clash is called "Know Your Rights" - I have it right here.

I went into this thinking I would argue against their choices, but actually I very strongly agree with most of their selections. Immigrant Song is definitely one of the best openings to an album, and I was very surprised that they included one of my favorite opening tracks, Bat out of Hell, considering I thought everyone except me made fun of Meat Loaf as an untalented hack, but there is no denying that is a great leadoff song for an album. The only one that I think is missing is 2112 by Rush.

They missed a couple of beauties though:

Should I Stay or Should I Go - The Clash.
Walking on the Sun - Smash Mouth.
Things Have Changed - Bob Dylan.
Two Tribes - Frankie Goes to Hollywood (the version with the air-raid siren at the beginning).

Immigrant song... what a tune.

I`m surprised Pink Floyd didn`t make number 1 actually. Dark side is definitely up there with the best albums of all time.

Wow, journey and meatloaf? These were easy listening pop bands that were on the hits one hundred stations back in the day, the AOR stations never plyed these songs. No Rush 2112? One of the greatest intros to an album.Yes, Fugazi should have been higher, in the top ten.
