Well, if you watch closely, the obese guy is immediately followed by bony ethiopian-type child, so I think what the issue being addressed there was was the whole obesity epidemic in relation to (or in spite of) the continued presence of world hunger.

speaking of grammatical errors

my ex used to write `your` instead of `you`ll`

eg: `your do it`

WHICH MAKES NO SENSE!!

he was an idiot, though =]

Its funny that all the people making comments on other peoples grammar, have bad grammar themselves. The internet makes it possible to read your typing errors, utilize it!

"The problem is is is" is grammatically incorrect; the statement should read, "The problem is that `is`, is." :-)

what irks the hell out of me is when people spell it "loose" instead of "lose"... that will always piss me off.

"The problem is is this video!"

Should be, "the problem is this video."
Or, "WHAT the problem is, is this video."

If you don`t understand it, then I don`t know what your issue is. :) I get it.

If I`m understanding this guy correctly (which I`m probably not... oh, and I`m deferring to his undocumented expertise here), you can say "...is is that."

Why? Because you`re saying, "[whatever] is" and "that is," (but restructuring the sentence, just like "rootbeer is" -> "is rootbeer," the example he used) and then combining the two "clauses" (I guess) to make a new statement... again, the rootbeer example.

Now, the video used a couple of examples (including Obama) to illustrate how many people, even intelligent people, and people in the media, make the "is is that" mistake. But, I think the "is is that" (or is it, "is, is that"?) is acceptable. Then again, maybe I misunderstood.

In other "is is" cases, though, he seems to be making sense.

Well, while we`re making videos about butchering languages, we could always make one about how American English butchers proper English... and how proper English butchers Olde English... and how that butchers German...

Imagine that. I guess everybody`s doing it.

The description means "The problem is `is is`" There is nothing wrong with saying that. Also, "Although I think the big ocean between him and I puts me at a slight disadvantage!" should say "between him and me" as you are no longer the subject of the sentence, you are the object of the preposition.

Yeah it`s hot when he does it.. when you do it on the forum it just makes you look pedantic! But cheers for the grammar lesson! Taken on board...

Why don`t you just butcher Ebonics right back?

Obligatory views of the worlds problems? Check!

I liked the video up until the end, and I won`t like it any less for that little montage, but I felt it was pretty unnecessary.

Also, why was Paul Posluszny tackling someone included in the montage? There`s nothing wrong with the Penn State Blue and White game. Unless this punk is a fan of OSU or Michigan.
