PETA Kills 86% Of Animals

If you donate money to PETA because you think they care for and about animals, you need to think some more.

"So, instead of blaming it on AIG, perhaps you should blame it on Bush, he made a lot of profit from his presidency."

You`re right, he was quite the evil genious. You are also correct that people actually never did get mortgages that they could not afford. They also did not choose to get credit cards, purchase cars that were really expensive and generally people did not choose to live beyond their means... it was all a myth made up by the evil genious Bush and his henchmen at Exxon Mobile.

Does this sum it up? Do you realize exactly how absolutely F**king RETARDED you sound??!!!!

This is just like how Exxon Mobil says it is trying to help the world.

(WARNING: Political information below, skip unless you actually care.)
Exxon Mobil & friends are the true cause of the state of the economy.
The republican leaders tend to claim "People bought houses they couldn`t afford".

Umm, no, people bought houses they could afford, then the oil prices got jacked up so high they couldn`t afford to pay their bills.

So, instead of blaming it on AIG, perhaps you should blame it on Bush, he made a lot of profit from his presidency.

"dude, vegetarians are f*cking supid :/"

You blathering idiot. Vegetarianism doesn`t have to be an ethical choice. It can be a choice made simply because one dislikes the taste of meat. It also doesn`t mean that all vegetarians support the practices of PETA.

My girlfriend is a vegetarian. She made that decision because she was forced at a young age to watch a pig get slaughtered at a pig roast, and then was forced to eat the pork.

People have their own personal decisions to make, and it is HARDLY your place on earth to see what is "f*cking stupid" or not. Your intolerance will be your ultimate downfall.

splurby: No problem, I was the one who wanted an abortion debate haha. I`m tired of all the peta posts and thought we could all fight about something else. It all deteriorates into personal little nit-pick attacks in the end anyway, so why not switch up the original topic?

Any extreme, in any direction, whether it be good or bad, is unhealthy. PETA takes ethical treatment of animals to cult status. This does not surprise me one bit. This is yet another example of why I hate people in general. There are great, kind, honest people out there, but their numbers are decreasing. There are way too many crazy, nutjobs in this country. While thousands die per hour from starvation, simply because their country has no economy and they have no agriculture, we sit at a computer, that is worth, basically, about 300 lives, bi%ching about stuff. Hating our good paying jobs, that allow us to barely pay the rent to our apartment with running CLEAN water, that doesn`t have millions of micro-organisms that eat the insides of human beings like a watermelon. The jobs that contribute to our savings. Imagine that, having enough money, even a couple of dollars, to set aside, and use later " I don`t NEED it right now, I`ll put it towards an expensive vacation".

"so key word ETHICAL."

Yes, it`s perfectly okay for them to violently (Literally, with firebombings) oppose animal research and animals being used as food, then turn around and kill the animals that are given to them to be rescued.

Not hypocritical one bit.

Boadicea:"splurby: Babies slated for abortion? If they`re being aborted, they`re fetuses. Just little clumps of cells. Give me a break."

Actually I lean more toward pro-choice, but just to help you pull your head from your ass; not all abortions are "little clumps of cells", many have feet, organs, eyes, hands, brains and they move too. All that aside, go back to my original post and realize I was simply making a sarcastic/ironic comparison between the topic at hand and to perhaps make a point. I didn`t make the comment to somehow convince you of my "nefarious" agenda to turn a PETA debate into an abortion debate.

Ethical
Treatment
Aanimals

they dont save them. they treat them eithcally. most of the animals they get will die a slow painful death over days. they cant spend that much money on every animal. they dont have enough supporters. so they have to euthanize them so they dont suffer. and thats a cycle. the euthanization causes even less money donated.

so key word ETHICAL.

This article is not a surprise, but holy bull poo, some of these comments are totally unrelated to the article in question.
The human ape is the most opportunistic creature on the face of the planet, plus as a collective is not very bright either.
Humanity is how we (as species) treat our selves and others (other species). We don`t have a steller record at either.
I also find it unsurprising that a terrorist supporting organization was spawned in a terrorist supporting country.
I just feel sorry for those caught in the middle, human and non-human.
PETA plays fast and loose with its ethics and immorals.

Lionhart2, "pro choice" doesn`t mean that pro choice women terminate all their pregnancies. The term "Pro Abortion" implies that you believe in ending humanity, basically.
Pro Choice implies that you believe that if some choose to abort, that is their choice.
I`m pro choice but I would never get an abortion.
Children are born to pro-choice parents every day.

To understand what PETA is really about you need to realize how cheapened the value human of human life has become. They say they are about protecting animals, But we already have the ASPCA and humane shelters doing this.

What they are really about is cheapening human life and spreading veganism propaganda.

These people are pro-abortion, anti-drug research, anti-hunting/fishing, tree hugging, communist, pretend friends to animals.

In their world view human beings over population is the most evil thing, And they believe that Gaia/Mother nature will somehow come to the rescue of Earth and exterminate most all human beings (Either through Mad cow disease, Bird Flu, etc..) Leaving only the non-meat eaters alive.
Thus restoring balance, and harmony.

If you think this is BS...

We all know PETA supports euthanasia.
The freakin` president worked in a shelter (this was pre-PETA btw) and would kill hundreds every morning just to save them being abused by other employees.
I dont have a problem with them killing animals if there really is no hope for them, but if they`re just killing them to get them out of the way then Im a bit pissed at them (PETA, not the animals lawl)

Yep there is a lot about Peta people don`t know, they are against owning pets, but yet they have some as pets, they are against animal testing for any reason even if it is to save a childs life, but the VP of peta is diabetic and they test that med on animals, her quote is "but they animals need me around to help them so it is OK if I use those meds"
So many celebs support Peta, but peta is a radical group, and the people that support them don`t know anything about them.
They also run their group all tax free which they should not be allowed to.

Actually, drag, I don`t think we`re all that better than animals. I don`t feel particularly special, nor think human beings in general are all that special.... I`m simply trying to make you actually consider what you`re saying.

The words you are using already have meanings.
If you want to say children under 3 don`t have certain cognitive abilities, say that, or make up your own word. Person already has a meaning.

Trying to assess my psychology on the issue is evidently futile.
I don`t need to bring God into this argument, and don`t think you should either.
My position on evolution should be obvious.

I already understand your every thought on the matter, I`m simply waiting for you to catch up.

ya there ya go trust an outdated thing like a dictionary. what makes a person a person is sentience among other things. the whole idea that only being human makes you a person is ignorant and self serving... makes you feel special dont it? this topic has been a major subject of study for me for a long time, and what i have found is that alot of the time people refuse to believe things like this b/c it somehow takes away from being special being human for them. like evolution religious people refuse to believe it b/c the idea that some god made them in his/her image makes them feel good and finding out the fact that they are barely differant then the monkey they just watched pick its nose and fling poo at the others insults them so they refuse to believe any ideals that counter their own

Dragosal:

Bullpoo. Words have actual meanings used to convey information to other human beings. If you make them up as you go along, spittoon ball when for sentiment quickly not!

A person is:
1) A human being, whether man, woman, or child.
2) A human being as distinguished from an animal or a thing.

A human is:
1) A member of the genus Homo and especially of the species H. sapiens.

Also, on the abortion topic, abortion limit currently is set *after* the ability to feel pain, not before, so yes, they would sue you if they could understand suing. (Which your average 10 year old can`t).

Any higher thought process you`re attributing as human is
1) Your own subjective bullpoo
2) Probably not present in humans till the age of two. (Most babies don`t realize until quite a while into their development, that when a ball rolls behind a sofa, it hasn`t vanished out of existence. It`s not that they haven`t "figured it out yet", they do not have that capacity to do so yet).

A human should be born at ~12 months, not 9. We are born at 9 because our hip structures evolved, and a 3 month old cannot usually easily fit through the birth canal (that`s also why our skulls are not fully fused, and why most other animals are already "functioning" at birth but we aren`t).

I wonder how many people actually read PETAs reply.

The reply as I guessed, compares the two shelters. A shelter only taking in adoptable pets instead of all pets will have a higher success rate.

I`m sure kids adoption agencies shoot even fewer! That doesn`t mean they`re comparable.

"honestly like animals fetus`s aren`t human they have no meta-cognitive ability. which is a key trait to being human"

Some monkeys also have "metacognitive abilities" as well. Not to mention some species of collies have been known to have vocabularies of over 500 words and some parrots have been taught how to ask questions as well as other things.

The point is, as smart as we are, animals aren`t necessarily unaware or stupid. They`re smarter than you think.

If PETA were in the business of humans (which I guess their acronym would then be - People for the Ethical Treatment of Humans PETH)... then they would do nothing but take babies that were slated for abortion and find other more "humane" means in which to kill those babies.

I think that is pretty accurate.

The problem with pets (outside of peta, i don`t know what they think) is that breeding them is dangerous since there`s so many of them. Basically we should adopt (and spay/neuter) all we can, but stop breeding them.

Don`t get me wrong, I`ve adopted two cats and love the hell out of them, but think of all the animals in shelters and on the streets who end up dead and who aren`t lucky enough to be rescued. Better they not exist than suffer.

(and no, I DON`T mean we should kill the ones alive already).

Those animals have been domestic since the beginning of time, men and dogs and whatnot..Why suddenly do they feel justified to even consider that pets should be "wild". They can`t. They just cannot become "wild" ...what a bunch of idiots..Are they jealous of pets?
What gives,my dog is not depressed,it`s happy to be alive. And she`ll live her life for the short 12 years maybe more. I PAY TAXES for my dog,I love my dog and what`s wrong with that? Ehhh... PETA has always been evil. I agree with you dragosal.

Oh, and good job Joolin at not sounding whiny at all.
Seriously though I do agree that some meat farmers have been cruel and house too many animals, causing them to be diseased and sicked before slaughter and the eventual ingestion, but being vegetarian won`t stop the production of meat.

Dogs should be kept on farms as working dogs or as guard dogs in the city. I know in Australia most dog food is made largely from culled kangaroos and yet we aren`t allowed to have kangaroos as pets because it`s `cruel`. Keeping dogs as useless pets for our entertainment is what results in millions of strays and is harmful to our native fauna

Old news. PETA has become the laughing stock of the animal rights community. I work with a greyhound rescue and I have YET to meet anyone in the national community of them who actually takes PETA seriously. My favorite hypocrisy from them coes from their VP, MaryBeth Sweetland. Not only is she fervently against all animal rights testing, she uses Insulin which is an animal-based byproduct. Then you have PETA supporting known terrorist organizations and more and more and more. Those people are just psychotic.

this fact has been around and presented hundreds of times for several years why are people just now getting this :\ i can respect the view of animal rights people but to maintain our standard of living and current rate of progression we cannot realistically do anything they want us to do

PeTA is a disgrace to the entire animal rights movement. Everything we have done for animals they have made a mockery of. Because of them, vegetarians and vegans are seen as pathetic, whiny, naive loudmouths.

eh, I got started on veganism by peta, but I don`t use them to justify my diet anymore. In fact, its become more of a thing that, I`m vegan just cause I want to be. I could care less what others eat, and I could care less about Peta or animal rights.

now thats ironic....poor doggies.

Actually, it IS ironic. When something happens in a certain circumstance that you wouldn`t expect to happen, it`s called irony. Most people probably wouldn`t expect an animal rights group to kill animals.

Um... where have all of you been the past few years. This is what PeTA does. That and many more stupid ass things.
You see, PeTA is run by some crazy nutcase who thinks anything that can`t live in happy-go-lucky-fun-fun land should die because it`s `merciful`.
