Hm... how honest of them. How old is this video though?

I think big food chains and companies are sometimes hated just because they`re big. People love small businesses and hate big ones, but all big businesses started out as small ones, and all small businesses want to grow.

that was grossly interesting. i wonder if people subconciously decide on the patties on the third bite during taste testing, or if they are told to decide on the third bite?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with mcdonalds meat except it doesnt taste great. People think its made in a dirty nasty place where they use pooped on meat but thats not true. The only problem with the meat is the health factor and taste

You`ve gotta be f*cking kidding me. Is this an ad? How did this make it past the mods? are they getting paid?

How about you go a little further back in the production chain and show what happens before the beef is removed from the cow.

Seriously IAB, I thought you guys were above this kind of bullsh*t.

Joo, seriously? Seriously. Come on now. This was to provoke DISCUSSION, not because a mod was paid. Moderators don`t get paid!

God, why do people keep thinking there`s some conspiracy with money laundering, I-A-B submissions, and the moderators. It`s freaking volunteer work. Do you also accuse the soup kitchen volunteers of being paid by Campbell`s soup company!?

Ah, it`s so nasty (freezing meat and then cooking it months later) but it tastes so good, there has to be a crack lab behind there that McDonald`s uses to flavor the burgers cause there`s no way in hell something so logically wrong can tastes so yummy.

I thought that just seemed like an ad. Not saying that it is, but there are so many hints.

For example, in the McDonalds in the video, there are only two happy kids with smiles on their faces in the whole store. Whatever happened to the huge crowd of busy overweight customers?

"Buying a McDonald`s hamburger is helping a farmer feed his family and pay his bills."
"We want to make every hamburger as perfect as we can."

If you really want to see more truth, you would be better off watching Super Size Me, Fast Food Nation, or some animal slaughterhouse footage.

i do not see anything really suspicious with it at all actually. cause think about it here in this country you can sue and win for coffee being to hot. McDonald`s i really believe is not going to do something that is going to put it in a negative light especially with the economy the way that it is. an for the matter of not allowing cameras to go into certain areas that is almost standard procedure in any food processing facility because of the potential danger to individuals who have not been properly trained to be around the different pieces of equipment.

I have to be honest, that wasn`t nearly as bad as I suspected. Of course they leave out certain things like how Mcdonalds grease traps are only changed every...tuesday I believe? At least where I live. So if you eat there on monday, you`re eating food that`s been in the grease of everything cooked there that week.
    I still like Mcdonalds though.

Once a week is actually pretty often compared to most places.

Ever notice how when you fry any sort of food at home in fresh oil, it tastes differently than "restaurant" fried foods?

Are you really comparing McDonald`s to a soup kitchen? Seriously? Seriously. Come on now, soup kitchens are supposed to provide SUSTENANCE, not because they`re trying to make a quick buck off of obese people. Soup kitchens don`t contribute to obesity!

Notice that he said that they weren`t allowed to film in certain parts of the plant... this is probably the part where they blend 1000 cows at a time into patty juice. Do you really think your burger is a nice piece of whole beef?

"As for being pretentious about McDonald`s... anyone who isn`t obviously doesn`t know what`s good for them, and probably weighs 150kg"

Oh please, get off your high horse, I`m sure the poor thing`s tired of carrying your pretension around everywhere.

At the end of the day, McDonald`s food is no better or worse than the food anywhere else, including what you cook yourself. Everyone`s body is different, and I`m sure there`s people out there for whom a steady diet of Big Macs enables their bodies to function at peak efficiency. I eat there at least once a week, and if anything, I`m underweight.

Hating on McDonald`s is simply stupid. If you don`t like their food, don`t eat there. But don`t sit there and try to act like you`re somehow better than people that do enjoy their food. Taste, after all, is a very subjective thing. After all, I`ll take a double cheeseburger over a t-bone steak any day, as I hate the taste of the meat for a t-bone, despite it being many people`s favor

    Yaezakura, you are so wrong..

"At the end of the day, McDonald`s food is no better or worse than the food anywhere else, including what you cook yourself."

Are you nuts?? the only reason you may be under weight is because muscle weighs more than fat and your probably not muscular at all.. id say 75% of people cook way healthier than that Mcd`s $hit..

its a fact, Mcds is CRAP.. just read their nutrition info.. dont get me wrong, obviously people eat there, but the food they eat out is not NEARLY as healthy as the food they eat at home.. unless they are caker slobs

    I don`t think I`ve ever had a "juicy" McDonald`s hamburger.

I was always under the assumption that the "beef patty" was always some sort of a meat-esque spread that was pumped out of a machine.

When I worked there they came as frozen uncooked meat patty`s, not precooked. And they left out the part were they put a drop of LSD(the essence of all flavor)in each patty.

after the video: *blech* cough cough, do you know how many germs are on those conveyer belts? in the air? ...*blech!* and the reason why they`re only aloud to film in certain spots is because they`re doing stuff to the patty that they dont want the public to see!!!!!! :-<

    PPPRULE is a paranoid spaz.

I think its great what they`ve got going here. As the reporter said, it helps the farmers and such.

... but I prefer the taste of my own burgers, not ones that have been cooked, frozen and then cooked again.

This is a "newsmercial". It`s a "story", in this case, given out by McDonalds that shows how their patties are made. I`m sure there were other similair "newsmercials" in other markets about the same time as well. All the reporters do is add a little bit of their own video at the beginning and the end of the piece.

Notice he says "100% beef patties". Not hamburger, not ground beef. 100% beef. This means any part of the cow, including organs. Usually just the heart and liver, since the lungs aren`t legal in the US, and the others aren`t "meaty" enough. Check in your local grocer`s frozen foods section. You`ll generally find "100% beef" patties in there, usually 1-2 dollars per pound cheaper than hamburger or ground beef patties.

And they do taste like McDonald`s patties. Texture`s about right too. But I don`t recommend buying them. Unless you`re really hurting for cash and need meat on the cheap.

And as to those wondering why they "can`t" film in certain areas - I`ve worked in a food production plant making frozen pizzas. Some of the machinery is proprietary, and not covered by any patents. Because if it got patented, it`d get copied and used by competitors. Same reason Coke/Pepsi don`t patent their recipes.

They sanitize the whole thing between shifts, and the USDA makes sure everything is clean to their specifications. And I guarantee it`s about as warm in there as your refrigerator. Possibly as warm as 45-50 degrees F.

The metal detectors are there because sometimes parts can fall off a machine and make it into the product. the pizzas I helped make actually went through three. Once before going into the freezer, once after getting wrapped in plastic, and once after it got packed in the cardboard case. Metal shavings in your food is bad for business.

A well written but unfortunately entirely incorrect post. The whole 100% beef meaning any part of a cow thing crops up all the time. Beef is NOT any part of a cow - here`s one of many explanations of of how beef is defined: http://www.snopes.com/horrors/food/cowey...

Actually, the "100% Beef" patties refers to the company name that supplies the beef, "100% Beef". So in reality, they could be puttin any crap in the patties and they would still always be called 100% Beef.

just another way McDs messes us over every time.
