ahahahaahahah awesome xD
Hilarious! The man has a point--couldn`t hurt us to all take a moment and feel thankful for the miracles of modern science that exist for our convenience.
Needless to say - I watched twice to catch the parts I missed due to the crazy laughter
i havent heard of this guy but hes 4ucking awesome!
When it comes to current technology.. well of course i apprieciate something like google more than a 10 year old rightnow because he is used to it... however i realize how much work had to go into it.
Ive noticed that in almost every video game that requires players to join in a game one by one before the game starts, its always the young ones that cant wait an extra 2 minutes for more players to join.
my 2 cents
I think I love this guy.
Misogyny in action. Woot woot. I realize how many misogynists there are out there, and I really hope a lot of them are like me and don`t partake in the things that make our world as pooty as it is. I have a feeling that some technology does make people stupid and obnoxious. I imagine someone with a laptop, cell phone and an iPod drinking starbucks looking busy at an airport and I see the fall of mankind, and I smile.
i still get high and think about this lol.
Although, this bit was more about people complaining about amazing things not always working the way they want them to; not a lack of praise for technology. And it made me laugh, so, it`s all good.
has anyone heard his bit about double edged swords?
The good: You could smoke anywhere you wanted (except church), and venereal diseases were all curable.
The bad: Flashbulbs, typewriters, and getting up to change the channel (3 to pick from).
The ugly: Cheap cars were faster than hell, but they wouldn`t turn or stop worth a crap.
He has a few points, and I suppose I did listen, but nothing that he said really strikes me as worth hearing. Most of the people my age that I`m around aren`t the ones yelling at a cell phone because they lost service, but rather its their parents. Every generation is thought to be a self righteous, pompous arse by their predecessors. Sorry that technology has advanced man, but it isn`t like young people aren`t the only ones dependent on it.
Now, before you go judging, let me explain.
Eve ate the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Now, once she`s eaten this fruit, she gets the knowledge and can`t turn back because now she knows the two sides. (Without light, there is no darkness, etc. etc.)
So now, let`s go back to me. And let`s say that I have to make a journey to Mars on a space shuttle, which is going to take months. However, I learn that there`s a way to instantly transport myself, and so I do. Now, after I`ve done my work, on the way back, I learn that I can no longer afford to instantly transport myself because we don`t have that technology on Mars.
So, after knowing the two sides, Good (instant), and Evil (shuttle), I can`t be 100% content with the shuttle.
Same deal with everything else. If for 1 week I get to use a typewriter to write stuff, and then the rest of the year I have to use a pencil, I`m going to say "Wish I had a typewrite
You can go be cynical and angry to your hearts content. Whatever floats your sad boat. Just be aware that when you start ragging on those of us who are trying to be happy, we`re not just going to flop over and be mad like you.
We`d just find a lot less crap to complain about... is that what you`re trying to say?
I agree with you.
Maybe i`m just too angry with everything and everyone around me and I should see thinkgs in a more positive way. I guess I have all of you to thank for making me notice this.
Oh, wait. Nevermind, someone else just posted it.
"What i`m saying is that you should try to learn "Why" most people around are complaining about every little things all the time. It`s always a compilation of little things that crush the high expectations we have about everything we interact with and most everything we interact with cost money so it pisses us off.Perfectly normal by my book."
He`s not saying its not normal. Anger, violence, pain and jealousy are normal. He`s pushing for better attitudes and behaviors. People are complaining, because they`re human beings. Even if we didn`t have a capitalist system in place and instead has something 100% better, we`d find something to complain about. He has issues with human character, not the system. You, misrepresent him as complaining about the system. You`re wrong.
When I read things like "The foundation of capitalism are shattering." i`m like "Maybe we need that."
And he was being sarcastic. I`m not.
I am actually embarrassed to be in this generation. This Mac buying, phone obsessed, cleanliness requiring, tight pants wearing, grammar lacking generation (One of my AP classmates often says "We did good". What`s up with that?).
Perfectly normal by my book.
And why does he complain about that? It`s perfectly normal to take things for granted if they were created to induce expectation in the first place. That`s the whole point of capitalism and he seems to deny that in the video.
The fact that so many people backs what this guy is saying and just "take things into a different perspective" about how difficult life would be if there was no progress... yet, what he`s preaching is basicly like saying "Progress is slow and awkward so live with it." I dont know about you but that would be like giving "the man" the green card to just make our lives more miserable by selling us defective products and second rate services for the full price.
Sorry, but there`s an alternative to capitalism and all those other failled monetary systems.
It`s called a resource based economy and those people pass this sort of message to discredit this sys
I disagree with you Groogle. Don`t worry though, I won`t be calling you a Douchebag just because we don`t see eye to eye.
He was complaining that people take things for granted. All the time, everywhere, people take their lives and the progress made around the world, for granted. It`s sad and its shameful, we should constantly be in amazement at what bounty we have.
"Not everything is amazing, way too many people are happy about it."
More like people don`t care. That is what his point was.
Way too many.
It`s like he`s trying hard to defend the fact that lots of failled inventions/products have been created/mass produced and that we should shut up about it because it makes capitalism look bad.
Sorry mister Louis Szekely but you failled miserably. If the fact that a chair can make you travel in the sky is so amazing then maybe they could put the extra effort to not make it look like a kids toy.
Always good to get a fresh, hot cup of perspective now and then.
