Jeez, wonder if he`s playacting?

Probably not...

You know, that`s just interesting. I honestly can`t tell if he`s jerking societies chain or being legit.

i think i need to clear up what i said earlier.
i don`t admire him or anything. i certainly don`t condone what he did. however, i think that in a way, he is a genius. look at some of the "geniuses" we learn about in school. einstein was basically crazy. ever read up on emerson or thoreau? how about da vinci?
and before someone gets all outraged, no, i`m not putting manson in a group with these guys, simply stating that someone can be a genius while still being completely mad.
i think that charles manson has had so much time to think about the concept of life that he`s got it down. he understands that we are all nobody, and yet we`re everybody. but hey, maybe i`m wacko too.

Is it wrong that i think he is so gosh darned brilliant?
An answer like that just kinda shows the depth of his thinking. The fact that he was able to really non verbally communicate like that just shows why he was so damn successful, even if being successful made him a cult leader and mass murderer.

Or, he could be ape poo nuts and just had a mini seizure of the face, and i`m attributing way too much to him.

Who knows.

Wow,that was chilling,and at the same time...brilliant.
I want to major in psychology and I find the way he thinks interesting, the way he can manipulate, the fact that to this day he still has supporters. Im in no means a supporter, but you have to wonder, what is it that goes on in his head? Its a very interesting thing to ponder, as I do often..

He is so brilliant. You can tell, it`s creepy how much charisma he has. I believe he is being honest when he says nobody. I think the different faces represent to him all the people he has been, has been perceived to be, and is to himself. But I think when he is being honest with himself, he realizes he has no idea who he is. I think he was just very very troubled when he was young, and I have read that he is sorry and I totally believe it. There is a very fine line between intelligence and insanity, and I think he is an excuse. Plus anybody who has tripped knows you take as much acid as he did, and you kind of lose control of your own mind... you believe with all your heart in things and ideals that have no representation or validity in sober life. You get on a subject that you wouldn`t otherwise be on, and follow the trip until it consumes you. I feel very sorry for him.

Baalthazaq, what the hell are you talking about? Kennedy didn`t "passively ignore" the accident; he frakkin` CAUSED it. Look, this is not complicated. If you drive drunk, cause a wreck, and somebody dies, that makes you a murderer (unless your name is Kennedy and you have enough money and influence to buy your way out of it). Hey, YOU try it, and see if you don`t end up in the sodomy factory.

People like him interest me. I don`t mean like I want to be their friend and give them cookies but just the way their minds work. I`m just so fascinated by the human mind and what goes on in people like, serial killers, cult leaders and such. What makes someone go from acting normal one day to shooting up little children the next day. Horrible and disgusting yes but eerily fascinating.

Not quite Dag.

Manson was given the death penalty on charges of *Murder* and conspiracy. Those were the charges he was convicted of.

Before he was executed, the death penalty was abolished in California, so his sentence was turned into life imprisonment.

When California reinstated it, his punishment was not changed back.

To put it plainly: He`s a sick F*ck. The only reason he`s still alive today is to provide the chronological history of his illness in order to further prove how his insanity can manipulate others of weaker minds. If he weren`t so high profile, he`d have been executed long ago."

to the people who say this: Manson hasn`t gotten the death penalty because a) when he was convicted California didn`t have the death penalty b) he did not actually commit the murders himself, so he cannot be charged with any degree of murder. What he did commit was an atroscity, and he was responsible for those 4 for killing that pregnant woman, but since he did not kill anyone, all he can get is life in prison

and just because I say all this, don`t go around saying that I`m a "supporter" of Manson, I was just clearing up what people are saying

Oh and OldOllie, you`re making the argument even worse for yourself.

You`re saying Ted, who let someone die, killed someone.

You`re saying Charles, who told people to kill people, as per his instructions, didn`t.

Passively ignoring an accident is now more to blame than active participation in a triple homicide? That`s idiotic. Get off your motherdrating soapbox and peddle your bullpoo elsewhere. Nobody is buying.

To spit on him would be too far a gesture of caring than he deserves. My crap is too good to drop on him.

Classic paranoid schizophrenic! I agree with "aust4beer"-he should`ve been executed long ago. Not everyone who suffer`s from mental illness should be executed, but because Manson is a high profile criminal in the USA, he`s rendered to the American system of forensic-pharmeceudical sciences. He`s a guinea pig for psycho-physiological sciences. That`s really been the only true use where his life has ever served humanity.

He`s not a hero. Though his followers today like to think so, they`re just really very insecure socially and feel empowered by anything or anyone who strikes any level of intimidation through sick manipulation into other stable individuals.

To put it plainly: He`s a sick F*ck. The only reason he`s still alive today is to provide the chronological history of his illness in order to further prove how his insanity can manipulate others of weaker minds. If he weren`t so high profile, he`d have been executed long ago. Charles Manson=Guinea Pig.Death to guine

@andystevens: Kennedy got drunk and drove off a bridge with a girl he had no business being with.

Kennedy got out the window before the car sank completely. After it came to rest upside down in the mud, it was impossible to get out.

Instead of getting help from one of two nearby houses with lights, he hid out till he could pass a breath test. The first phone call he made was not to the police but to his lawyer.

MJK likely survived several hours in an air pocket and might have been rescued had he not been concerned solely with covering his own worthless ass. If his name wasn`t Kennedy, he would have been convicted of manslaughter and sent up for 10-20 years hard time.

That being said, how about a riddle?

Q: What`s the difference between Charles Manson and Ted Kennedy?

A: Charles Manson never actually killed anyone.

Jesus Christ! Manson did not murder anyone. He was convicted of conspiracy to commit murder and under California law, that is considered "joint responsibilty" so he commited murder by telling others to do it. He told some dumbasses, a bunch of his druggy groupies that John Lennon wanted them to kill some people. Thank God today we have the Internet where douchebags like this can just send an email to ten of their friends, asking them to forward it to everyone they know. Sheep are sheep; they all just believe whatever they are told and follow. Manson`s sheep believed and had knives.

This post inspired me to Wikipedia Charles Manson and read the entire transcript of his 1992 parole hearing... Good reading, I`d recommend it to anyone. FrenchFry89 and others (sorry, too lazy to scroll up and lose my point) are right to a T... Brilliant. Feckin` insane, but brilliant. Keep in mind that Einstein couldn`t remember to put on a coat and didn`t have the cognitive capability to brush his own hair -- But genius is genius. It`s sad to think that he had to (indirectly) murder nine people for someone to make that observation... My two cents.

at the risk of sounding crazy, i think charles manson is brilliant. while he may be "insane," if you watch interviews with him, he certainly has some interesting points of view. this simple answer shows how well he grasps the concept of life. we all are nobody. however, we all have a million different sides to us, and i think thats what he was showing with the crazy faces. i seriously think that charles manson has one of the most intriguing (sp?) minds of anyone ever.

Basicly, what Chronic said was right, while he didn`t acctually kill anyone, he was the ringleader, and therefore fellow conspirator in the murders. That said, anyone who doesn`t think he`s completly mentaly ill is ignorant. He`s just like any other mentaly screwed up person you might find living on the streets of any major city in the country. Mix that with the fact that he was very charismatic with the acid head chicks and thats what led to the problem in the first place. If he`s let out now, he will just be another crazy homeless old bastard on the streets of Los Angeles.

The penal system had Charles Manson in its custody in 1952. He was in prison for auto theft when he raped a fellow inmate with a razor blade at his throat. The State of California paroled him in 1954. A fine example of rehabilitation. The State had him and let him go. Who else was culpable in those seven murders?

@DMrayz... I don`t advocate violence in any form...

"...there is no evidence that he actually personally killed any of the seven victims in this case. However, the joint responsibility rule of conspiracy makes him guilty of all seven murders." - Vincent Bugliosi, prosecutor, The State of California v. Charles Manson (Closing argument)
Patricia Krenwinkel, Susan Atkins and Leslie Van Houten did all the killing. Manson told these three brainiacs that the Beatles had sent him a message in the song "Helter Skelter" (on The White Album) that it was time to start and apocalyptic race war. "Hmm sounds like a plan Charlie.. let`s go kill some rich white people and bring it on!"

He`s insane, there`s no doubt of that in my mind. Now whether he thinks he`s sane and is trying to convince everyone that he is insane, or if he`s really as insane as he seems, well... I don`t know and I don`t care. He`s pond scum.

xParanoia: "I love Manson. Don`t care what you say. XD"

Fine, we`ll take him out of prison so he can stop leeching off our tax dollars and he can go live with you. Of course, he`ll more than likely convince someone to gut you like a fish, but what of that? He`s cool and edgy!

*sigh*

Stupid emo kids.

I`d love to meet him.

I don`t think he was ever insane, just plain drated up and evil. Maybe he is now.. clearly prison can do that to a guy.
