Cameraman Pulls Man from Wreckage

Submitted by: 134 7 years ago Misc

A television cameraman pulls a man out of wreckage just before it explodes. Seems surreal and Hollywood, don"t it?

Where is the explosion? I want a Michael Bay explosion! And I thought the cameraman was supposed to pull him out. He just kind of stood around taking pictures. I like the part where he said that this guys life was worth more than his job and all he did was run to a bus to get a fire extinguisher.

I dont think thats a reinactment

Im almost sure

the way the car blew just after they pulled him out.

but i can see that the camera man wasnt the one who pulled him from the burning car

it was lucky they saved him, close call

LOL @ Doug`s last post. So true... Oh, how I fear for the future of the human race. I see 18-29 year old people making comments which I would attribute to 5-7 year old children....

I am is afrayed!!! I cannot believe that anyone over the age of 12 thinks that this is actual footage of a car accident. I am ascared for the future of civilization.

"I need more details to this story"

Corrine and Charlie have pretty much told the story of what happened. You seriously don`t get the concept of a video re-enactment on TV?

so i`m confused because all of the people who say this is a re-enactment and it`s not real footage and to the one who said the actual guywas the one in the grey shirt... how come one second he`s pulling a guy from the wreck in front of the camera and the next second he`s the guy filming as he runs over to the bus to ask for the extinguisher... plus this doesn`t look like a re-enactment video because those are more often then not, filmed on a closed set.... I need more details to this story

"so a camera man was the hero for going out of his way to help this guy? what about the cameraman who was filming this then?"

Holy crap! That whole thing about placing a monkey at a keyboard would eventually produce the complete works of Shakespeare is plausible. Thanks JoeYC! Yay progress!

Having watched this video (from a TV show) and reading three pages of comments in this thread, I estimate that the collective IQ of IAB dropped about 15 points today. Those Ebaum people just won`t lay off. Sad.

@JoeYc

Um... It`s called making a TV show or a movie. You know how you see a movie or TV show like I dunno, Titanic or JFK or... and it is "based on a true story?" That`s not the actual footage of the actual event? Charilea is right, most TV shows (and movies, and video games too!) are not real.

Jack Klian is known as a "high-risk" freelance cameraman who goes into dangerous situations to get footage more timid cameramen pass on. This is a story of one day when he left his camera in his car and walked into danger, to help save the life of someone he did not know. Do most people really stop to think before they post here?

OMG people. The cameraman is the big dude in the gray t-shirt and the denim shorts who says, "You`ll be fine buddy." So yes, he is a hero. Also there was no music soundtrack nor television nararator present when the actual incident occured. That was added afterwards when the made this spot for a television show. What you watched was something they do on some television shows called a reenactment. They use these as away to graphically illustrate a real life incident. It is usually presented with actors, however the producers will sometimes involve some of the people who witnessed or were involved in the incident. Sorry for such a long post, but I know how confusing televison can be for some.

"He didn`t pull a man from the wreckage as the title suggests - he was filming as people pulled it out."
"Cameraman doesn`t pull him out,"
"...and he continued to film the entire time."

We got some smart ones in the forum today. Jeezus! lol!

weird so now filming someone in danger is the equivalent of helping them. why did the camera man get more screen time than the victim? or i dunno someone who actually pulled him out woulda made for a better interview

Did the cameraman pull him out? Or did he just continue to film. The caption is a bit misleading.

"Blah blah, my country is better than yours, blah blah blah, your country is stupid for X reason, blah blah blah, my opinion is fact and even though I`ve never lived in your country I know mine is better, blah blah..."

Good summary?

NOTE TO ALL: if you come across my wrecked car and the only way to save my life is to yank my ass out of the car and leave me paralyzed for life, PLEASE SAVE MY EFFING LIFE. No one should suffer the horror of burning alive!

All of you should hope you`re never in an emergency situation with me, because I`ll just freeze up and panic probably.

To all the people out there who would yank a person from a burning car just consider the fact that in most if not all common law jurisdictions there is no duty to rescue. If you attempt a rescue and break the guy`s leg to save his life, he can still sue you for breaking his leg. Unless you happen to fall within the "Good Samaritan" law provisions for your state/province if the exist.

Yeah, how *did* this video lead to anti-americanism? :-/

Guys, I wasn`t just doing some unwarranted america bashing. Stories presented like this just happen to mostly come from the US. If the aussies put out a load of videos like this instead then I`d have said Australia. Infact just knock the "from the US" bit out of my original line and it`ll still be the same passing opinion.

I want the thread to get back to normal, but I can`t help to give one piece honest feedback. America isn`t the shiney beacon it used to be seen as. Europe hasn`t been an actual superstate for very long but now that it is things are looking quite pleasant. So you can have your perfectly fine culture and affairs over there and we`ll have our shizzle over here. And we`ll all be nice to each other and wave occasionally.

Wow, thats courage. Please, ignore the other British people on here who are acting all anti-American. Seriously, if that happened in England, someone would just call 999, and wait for the fire crew to deal with it. Although I would try to get him out first, obviously.

How did this video lead to anti-americanism? Someone is a little obsessed...
There is no sense in "fighting back" against idiots. Having inferiority complexes are their problem. We get it, you hate America (because you wish you lived here). But sensationalist television is NOT unique to the US...
We get it, you pay 70% in taxes, have free healthcare ("free" because of 70% taxes), and you cry to your government because you really don`t want your boss to be able to fire you, even if you suck - oh, and your entire country just takes summers off - working is hard, right, even though you can`t be fired! - yet you wonder about your lack of economic might.

Its funny that they ALL closely follow American foreign and domestic issues - while we have zero reason to care about what they do, since they are internationally insignificant.

Topperhey - tell us what country you are from so we may better tailor our insults to match yours.

And there was no "explosion&

Nice editing. If the car exploded just as they pulled the guy out, it would have made a noise. I think the car just continued to slowly burn until the whole thing was on fire, then they skipped to that and said it exploded.
