Link: 7 Awesome Super Powers Ruined By Science - Of course, Super Powers are awesome, but you can expect some pretty annoying (or deadly) side effects.

I did like the last one. The inevitable decline of the universe has always been my foremost reason not to want immortality.

Maybe I want to walk around naked, watch myself digest food and produce random piles of puke. Didn`t think of that, did ya? Invisibility ftw!

Unfortunately, that huge mass of subatomic particles... I disagree.

I personally believe that all the mass in the universe will collapse together due to the forces of gravity. Then big bang again. repeatedly.

It would still suck to be immortal though- imagine how painful it would be to have to sit in the middle of trillions of trillions of tons of matter crushing you!

Apparently this Cracked writer doesn`t know how to close his eyes. Maybe he was born without eyelids. Poor guy.

SuperJesus - the oscillatory universe model has mostly been rejected in favour of the heat death model for the end of the universe, because an oscillatory universe would gain entropy from oscillation to oscillation, and that would violate the second law of thermodynamics.

AlmightyBob1, I think what he means is you will see EVERYTHING, not just the things that you want to see.

Also, I had an epic debate with a good friend of mine about immortality. She defeated me with her logic, so I`m to get back at her by showing her this article.

this is why you wish for a book that you can write in and erase all your superpowers into.
first one: "I`m the only person who can use this book"
second: "This book cannot be destroyed"
theird: "this book can be rewritten or replaced if i denounce the item to be the new `book`"

then you could just write in whatever you want, and since it can be replaced, you`ll never have to worry about losing it.
it would also make you really adaptive, and impossible to kill.

some of those are already known and some can be controlled like for instance if you think bout immortality for over 20 mins(it will eventually happen to you) you`ll realize what he said is true but things the compare are off like mind reading; at first it`d be like he stated(Matt Parkman off heroes couldn`t control his when he was in middle of NYC ,but if he spent time working on his(I`m transitioning to Xavier)ability to focus he would be able to read the targets mind or at least read the few mind in short vicinity of his the single him out.

In most superheros Invisibility is able to be turned on and off and even if if you made it to were you only actually just reflect all light like wearing a giant mirror you still be able to see everything.(look up /reflective suits on Google or you tube.)

(Bare with me on my grammar errors because it`s hard to fix it all when you don`t really care.)
But , you should think of all different way of how you would do something before

Teh big thing about "invisibility" is that they believe the body is invisible like it gives off some kind of super radiation that makes it so you get seen through. Thats not how it works

True invisibility is light control (hence you can still be seen by infrared) from the visible spectrum, as in, you control the light around you to not hit you but move around your body making it so your not seen through, but the light orbited you. Since you could control this, the incoming light, whcih you can control, you can specify to hit your retinas, and have all the rest go around you, so you can see :P

    Problem solved :o

I know this is crude but I wonder if you can `pull` one off whilst in space..

I mean.. how freaking bored will you be if you were in space endlessly. D:

And then you`ll get hungry, and won`t that maek you starve to death?

Actually, you would not be floating in space forever. After the sun has grown enough it will tear Earth to pieces through tidal forces. Also it will suck those pieces into itself through gravity. You will be one of those pieces.
Now you will stay for a billion years or so inside a red hot star, endlessly burning at a degree if several billion degrees but unable to leave because of the huge gravity (dont you wish you had super strength now after all). Finaly the sun will run out of fuel and will shrink down to a white dwarf. All matter will be pulled towards the centre and packed evxtremely tight. You are part of that matter. Now you will be locked inside the cooling remains of a superdense object untill the black hole in the centre of the galaxy has grown big enough to pull even the remains of the sun into itself. What hapends then is your guess.

wow, that sux. But superstrength wouldn`t be bad, so you couldn`t lift Gigantic objects, so what? you can still beat the hell out of anyone and lift anything that won`t rip apart from having all of that pressure on a small point.

@ Nirosaki: No you won`t starve to death, you can`t die if you`re immortal so starving to death is out of the question. (unless they are talking about the type of immortality that only allows the person to never die of old age, but they obviously are talking about "Not being able to die, PERIOD)

try combining all of them except for invisibility and immortality, now they work fine! flying and running too fast is no longer a problem because your body has become super strong, anything you lift or hit will crush instead of you. So you would pretty much be like superman.
