2. If we were to fall the rest of the world is going with us, why do you think the whole world is in recession at the same time.
"i are a graduate!"
We`ve lasted alot longer than America, so you have a few more centuries left at least
Back in 2000, a 20 ounce soda cost about $1.10. Now it`s about $1.39. Inflation`s going to happen, that`s what happens in strong economies.
Now I`m not saying that the US will never collapse, but I am saying that it won`t anytime in the near future.
Anyone who thinks the `founding fathers` and their system would stop something like this is sorely mistaking and a tad naive. That does NOT mean i think it `will` happen.
I just mean to say that all that is arguing is that "People won`t break the rule"No rule is greater then the rest of the rules, people tend to break them.
P.S. R.I.P. Crocodile Molester... R. I. P. we miss you, man.
We`re so polite that in the event of invading you, we would probably ask you if we were allowed to, first.
The U.S probably won`t stop being a super-power within our lifetime and even if it did, that`s not a bad thing. Lots of old super-powers are still living it up with good living standards, education, etc. Take England for example.
Besides, just because a country isn`t a super-power that doesn`t mean it`s a bad place or that it`s "failed" somehow.
When the inevitable powershift does come however many years from now, I wonder who`ll take over? Hmn...
maybe the barbarians from the north will finally invade the U.S.
I`m on to you Canada...
Why have a civil war to change from a republic to an empire...we just willingly handed it to them...you know, in the name of security...
My point is, this is the same mentality here. There are loose similarities between just about anything you want to compare. Like water and oil... they`re both viscous and a liquid, but they don`t mix well.
This is an old, old theory. I remember this argument when I was a kid. So it absolutely does not have anything to do with current events. Nor do current events necessarily help or hurt the supposed escalation of this theory.
nation will rise, and nation will fall. It has always been like that.In the end... who gives a flying crap?
the last quote in video has some sense into it, but no matter how much you prepare, no matter how much `research` on wikipedia, no matter how many youtube videos you edit....
You`re wasting the ONE life you have on this planet.
Most of us will spend our lives worrying about the future. I intend to live it.--------------This is one of the most interesting posts in these comments. I don`t even know if I agree with it, but it has thought put into it.
These are the aesthetics of a society. They are NOT what we need to be putting effort into thinking about right now. How about the depression we`re in, eh?
Then again, I also say we have only a few good years left.
Second Amendment, baby!
Did the Romans not crumble because of incest and lead poisoning.
Fact. They were scared of them prolly. They considered them barbarians [like anyone else not Roman].
Hmm, New Zealand perhaps?
It will be much worst then in your wildest nightmare.
I did. No one else listened.
I don`t think in the US that it will happen sometime soon, but it will happen in the future and a new empire will rise elsewhere to take its place and the cycle will continue.
Wrong, the Romans never conquered Scotland. Instead they built Hadrian`s Wall to keep us out.
Spain (I think)-> Britian -> America -> China?
Bah! i really really hope you missed out a decimal point 1.729 years is just about bareable!
As for the video, it doesn`t account for one thing: We don`t have barbarians everywhere around us (just in Canada), so D.C. is not bound to be sacked by Visigoths any time soon. We aren`t funding constant wars now, we just happen to be in a long one at the time, deal with it. Things will get better like they always do.
Most of us will spend our lives worrying about the future. I intend to live it.
Following that logic, Rome even lasted way longer as the "Holy Roman Empire" until 1806. But Byzantium was in fact an empire that held the title of being "Roman" (East-Roman actually) just as a name, but the structure of the Empire was very different actually. To less space in here to expand my thoughts... sorry bout that.
