omg im stating an opinion on the internet dunt hrut me!
Not punk though. Punk is basically just as much rebellious noise as one kid and his/her band can make XD
Not enough men in this world get the kids when they should. I wish you the best of luck.
Quote of the week, Lion.
A bzzz bzz bzz, bzz bzzzz bzz bzzzzz... that`ll be stuck in my head all day now.
It wasn`t a specific band or lyrics that I was pondering. It was a number of different bands and songs.
The site I went to was Dark Lyrics.
But, I do remember seeing a song by Cannibal Corpse. Actually, you can browse any number of songs by them and other groups and see what I mean.
Hey, I`m not condemning these songs or bands. To each his own.
And, what I meant by, "offended," was that I don`t want to eat a meatball sub and read these lyrics at the same time. They`re not something I can appreciate (outside of the shock value) and it`s just not for me. But I don`t think they`re intrinsically immoral or anything.
Puck=Punk, and so on.....
"Somehow, I recently ended up on Wikipedia`s punk rock page and followed that to heavy metal and then to some of that death metal (and worse) sort of stuff, and they were talking about the lyrics and how they deal with death and such. So, I Googled, "death metal lyrics" and went to a site that documented (what`s the word I am looking for here?... not, "documented") the lyrics and they were insane. I mean, scary and offensive, and I`m not easily offended."
What were the lyrics? Who was the band?
Puck did not change drastically from the 70s to the 80s. It started changing in the 90s due to the uprise of "alternative" music wich was loosly based on punk and other genres. That is when I stopped listening to as much punk, and did away with the mohawk.
Now im my opinion the punk genre has been absorbed by what is played on the radio, therefore punk no longer "truley" exists as a stand alone genre. I mean is Blink 182 and the likes really punk?
Part of the problem is that punk was defined by not being mainstream. So, if it is on the radio, how can it be punk?
don`t worry backfat, there`s still good punk out there, mostly stuff that sticks to the eighties mentality. this music scene is just the hideous love child of blink 182, green day, and nirvana.
I don`t know why I felt compelled to share that, but there you go.
