I find it funny how she`s asking him these questions like "were you scared?""did you take time to congratulate yourself?" and he`s all like no. end of story. But really...that dude is awesome.

If you guys who say it was no big deal would take the time and watch the WHOLE piece from 60 minutes you would see the part where the crew and some of the passengers got together.

There was one guy who showed a picture of himself and his niece to Sully and told him that his brother had died in 9/11 and his family would have been able to take losing another brother.

There was also a letter written to Sully from a guy saying that he had a 80-something year old holocaust surviving grandfather who lived in the high rises next to the river and by diverting into the river saved not only his passengers but countless people walking to lunch on the ground.

This man is a true hero. To keep your cool and do as your training says is not quite that easy in the real situation. Anyone who has ever been in that sorta event will tell you that.

the reason this is such a big deal is that its hard finding real heroes nowadays and this guy and his crew are just that.next time any of you naysayers find yourselves in a situation of sheer terror do not think of your life even once , just the lives of strangers , because that is what he did. and he did it well

I don`t even live in the United States and I`m tired of hearing about this, it must be getting unbearable for Americans. There should be an international convention that a story cannot be reported on for more than twice the length of the event itself. Everyone in the western world heard about this after a day and a half, so that`s about right.

To everyone saying NBD about this... I would love to see video tape of you crapping and peeing your pants in the same situation. It is an amazing story.

"Sully, I smell roasted foul..."

"That`s odd, Tom, because the passengers seem to be a bit panicked."

I say this guy did everything he could`ve and should`ve.

balls of steel, and yes overplayed by the media. sully wasn`t looking for recognition for doing his job... it`s being thrust upon him. surely at the insistence of the passeners/media/city of new york. still, news like this beats the usual nonsense

He did what he was trained for, whoop-de-drating-do. People survived and all but supposedly this is nowhere near the heroic crashlanding it`s being portrayed in the media.

THEY`RE LYING TO YOU PEOPLE!

The disaster didn`t lasted 5 minutes but 5 years and there was 345 passengers less then 100 of us survived the crash and the 155 survivors are mostly people who lived on the island. Flight 1549 crashed in the water near a secret island that can travel through space and time I know this because I was one of the pasengers and I returned to warn everyone... JACK`S KILLS HURLEY AND KATE AFTER HE FOUND OUT THEY WERE HAVING SEX!

=D

It was incredible and all, but the headlines for this thing just don`t stop.

I thought we heard what this guy had to say the week it happened, but he`s just now "finally speaking"?
