Really? They couldn`t sedate it or something before serving it? I`m not saying that it wouldn`t be pretty cool to have a little octopus crawling around on my dinner table, but if I pay to eat it I want it to at least stay in the bowl.

Really? Who wants to eat something that`s still moving? It dies anyways. I like how the guy had to stab it with his chop stick to kill it. Why couldn`t the cook take care of that before derving it. EWW.

That is EXACTLY like that scene from Old Boy.

Also, the music to this video SOOOO doesn`t suit the subject matter.

"To the vegetarians: Animals eat animals."

Animals also live in the wild, roll in dirt, and lick their own genitals. Since they do that, do you?

Cool... I want to try one! Oishii!

"Seriously! Looks good to me... I`ve clearly watched too much Bizarre Foods"
I love that show!!

"Do you think octopi wait until their prey is dead to eat them? Jeez, I never understood why people were so anal about eating animals, alive or dead. It`s natural."
Exactly right.

To the vegetarians: Animals eat animals. Humans are omnivorous animals. Thus, it`s natural for us to eat other animals.

Animals don`t always wait for the prey to be dead when wanting to eat. Why should we? Oh, because "we`re moral"? psh.

"ANYONE who eats crazy siht like that... yas are messed up"
Way to be close minded to an entire culture.

Y`know, when I`m going out for a meal with my mates, the last thing I want to be doing is to sit there trying to chat while keeping one eye on my dinner to make sure it doesn`t try and sod off mid meal!

Also, talk about the chef getting a free ride. "Hey, we`ve got a bunch of tourists in!" "great, go give them that menu with the uncooked crap on it, I can`t be bothered to cook today."

Gross. I actually prefer slitting their throats before eating animals rather than eating them alive.

I`m all about eating animals, they are put here to be used to sustain. But, there is something about eating it alive that just seems kinda wrong. I am a farm girl, so I know the animals I eat probably didn`t have a quick painless death, but at the same time, they weren`t chewed to death.
So I guess its not that I wouldn`t eat an octopus, I would just like it dead before I bit in to it. I can`t imagine the squirming would be appetizing.

Well, for the record, it wasn`t actually a ``baby`` octopus. More like half matured.
You could eat a baby octopus in one bite since they are about the size of your thumbnail.

I love the food posts on IAB whenever it`s an animal most IABers don`t eat.

"Omg how could they!"

Yes, how could those weirdos eat something without setting it on fire first?! Or at least slit it`s throat then put it through a blender! Or at the very very least let it suffocate! How can they be so cruel?!

Eating meat is never "nice", and it doesn`t get any better just because it`s done behind closed doors and disguised.

If you have some moral objection, you should really consider why, and if that means you should try being a vegetarian.

If you don`t have a problem with killing for food (like me), it doesn`t really apply. (Although you should still make sure it`s relatively quick and painless).

Uhhh, I kinda like calamari. But no way would I eat a baby octopus. It`d be too slimy and stuff, and I`d feel sorry for it since I think octopus are cute.
Awww look at it, poor thing. It`s all,"Nooooo, don`t eat me! Mama! -wriggles away from bowl-"

"Im sorry i forgot that we are drating cavemen theres a cooker cook the damn thing, animals don`t have cookers do they?"

I`m sorry, I forgot we were cavemen. It`s called culture, we have culture don`t we? Idiot. We sometimes don`t cook vegetables, too. Did you know that? Or some times of sushi. Oh, but you wouldn`t know about vegetables, because you`re fat, right?

Couldn`t pay me enough.

Eating something that`s still alive is just plain cruel.

Then again, I`m NOT vegetarian, but if I was asked to eat a live version of my burger instead of how we get them... I probably would be!

That baby octopus is so cute, it`s a shame that`s he`s getting swirled around in all these sauces and ends up getting chewed up. I dunno how that guy could eat it, especially if it might be wriggling around in your mouth stil. And Rick S, that is an interesting point, I never thought of that actually, and it makes it all the worse really.

I`ll tell you why I`d never eat an animal alive (unless it was a survival issue). They still have poop and pee in them! You just stick the whole think in your mouth and start gnawing, and you`re eating their pee and poo, among other things.

grody. i heard this is actually very deadly to eat them live. their tentacles supposedly will atch on to your throat and choke you from the inside out because they reaize there is a threat.

i`ve had baby octopus before... it was cooked and whole. it`s the weirdest sensation when you`re chewing. something bursts (its head?) and then you go from a rubbery texture to a liquid-y rubbery texture.
it was almost like a game at our dinner table. we would take our chopsticks, and pick one up, someone would count and we would all stick them in our mouths. lol we all had some crazy expressions

animals. i`m not against strange cultural delicacies but theres no reason to eat it live. if u killed it within an hour of eating it all the texture and stuff should be the same so i see no reason for this.

i would eat it if 1. i could guarantee that i couldn`t get sick from it (after all, it`s raw) and 2. if it weren`t so cute, in a weird way, it`s just so tiny lol.

I can`t even watch, especially after the earlier video with the octopus opening the jar. The fact that they`re so intelligent somehow manages to make it worse than it already is. I know you should try to respect other cultures, but c`mon...

So, does he realize by not eating the octopus right away he was only making it suffer more?(hint: it was suffocating)

I have no problem eating meat or seafood, just eat it and have the experience already!
