I`m sure everyone has some form of gymnophobia, who wouldn`t have some anxiety over the prospect of being seen naked by other people? If this isn`t true, what are locks for? Oh wait I almost forgot, they are to keep the monsters out.

I had a really bad experience with a horrible clown (he was called JoJo) at one of my birthday parties when I was really young. He made me cry and I developed an absolute hatred of clowns and didnt have another childhood party after that. I also refused any of my friends` clown parties!

ani: i have like the same problem but probably not as bad. I`m good at swimming but water still horrifies me. I grew up in montana and i didn`t even get into my first river until i was 20 years old. my husband sometimes in the shower will slowly move my head under the water just to the point of it rolling down my face to try and break me of the fear, but it doesn`t work.

Aquaphobic, sometimes referred to as hydrophobic, though hydrophobia is fear of rabies... Anyway, yeah, scared to death of deep water and drowning. I`m the least fun person to hang out in a pool with. I don`t like to get water on my face, so no splashing and no dunking. In fact, no touching me at all. I don`t go in natural bodies of water, like lakes or rivers because you can`t see the bottom. In fact, if I can`t touch bottom with my head above water, I won`t get in it.

Unintentional I know, but worth noting.

Clowns scare me to death. It`s just that they are so abnormal looking, with the white face and the big red hair and big nose. It also doesn`t help that I had seen an evil clown thingy when I was younger.

I have always hated people in costumes too. When I was five and at Disney, I never hugged the characters, I never sat on the mall Santa`s lap or anything like that.

In fact, an elementary school BOYSCOUT crappy haunted house had me sobbing and screaming because there were people in costumes all around me

I used to have emetophobia. I had a panic attack whenever even someone in a movie or cartoon threw up... let alone myself. Then I got a horrible stomach acid condition and was kind of forced to get rid of the phobia.

Neophobia. I have that fear. I always dread going somewhere I`ve never been to before.

When people ask to meet me somewhere I`ve never been I always try and change it to a place I know of.

One fear mentioned on here is the fear of clowns. Personally, I don`t think it`s all that strange. My friend Lisa is like that. I am an arachnophobic. I also hate needles (but I`m getting better at it), any kind of bug/insect at all, and I hate public speaking. I know I have others, but I can`t think of any right now...^^;

Woah!! Boadicea I feel exactly the same. I always cover up my head from the top of my ears down while I sleep. I am severely arachniphobic and cannot even touch or look at pictures of the things. It is terrible. I always thought i was the only one that covered up their head while they sleep.

I don`t know (or care really) if this has a name, but I have this phobia of bugs crawling or flying into my ears. That`s why I leave my hair down in summer and keep it over my ears when I sleep. (Or else have a blanket over my head). Crazy? Well most likely. Oh well.

Ithyphallophobia -- It explains everything.

Most of the women I met in college had this disorder. And here I was, all along, thinking it was something I was doing wrong.
