Meh, I had the world`s most obedient dog, I told him to go make me breakfast one day, he got bacon out of the fridge, put the kettle on, pawed the stove on, filled a saucepan, hard-boiled me an egg, then came and put it on the table, went and got a knife between his teeth and brought it to me, then did a hand-stand in front of me. My mate said "That`s one clever dog mate, but why is he doing a handstand in front of you?" I said "Cause he`s so smart he knows I haven`t got an egg-cup."

Look, I hate to be the one who calls `fake`, but I seems highly likely that it is. Either the dog has a massive vocabulary, or it is fabricated. A dog could not understand, `Don`t get it until I say 3` from him just saying the number. It is just footage of a dog who is rather skittish about approaching the ball, with audio overlaid to time up with the events in the film. That or it is some form of sentient canine.

But you`re so smart you figured that out... oh, wait... NO YOU DIDN`T.

    Idiot.

Perhaps you should have looked closer at the comments you claim to have "researched", then it would have been apparent that it had nothing to do with the video, but MY dog.

Oh my... was that the sound of your ego deflating?

And by the way, the correct spelling is "self-righteousness".

    Anyone calling "fake;"
Dogs are highly intelligent predators that form social structures both on their own and with human companionship. This dog obviously has a desire to please his owner, and has a large vocabulary.
I believe this video because dogs are capable of mocking their owners. My dog occasionally humps a pillow, and my mom always tells him to cut it out, while I laugh. One day, she told him to stop and he did, but as soon as she turned around (I was in the room) he started humping the pillow and I started laughing. He watched her, and when she turned around to see what was so funny, he stopped. She turned around again and he started having his way with the pillow again, but this time I told him to stop, while laughing, and I told the whole deal to my mom. While we had our backs turned, we could both hear him going after the pillow.

@ Grossen: Rock ON bro! The people here who don`t live with dogs don`t have a clue. I give my dogs commands in plain English, and speak to them in complete sentences. Even a less than intelligent dog is capable of understanding a vocabulary of over 400 words. The dog in my profile pic will go to whatever room I tell him to, ie: "Kitchen", "Den", "Bedroom", etc...

On a side note, it looks like rgsupergrove doesn`t want to crawl back out from under his rock with any more "self-righteous" BS?

    Has he learned his lesson?

Or will he just find another website to troll on?

@ McDuff: You obviously have never lived with a dog. As humans, we would be (and are) incredibly arrogant to make assumptions on what a domesticated animal is capable of understanding.

I repeat the fact that I currently live with a dog that understands and comprehends words. Since I`ve lived with dogs since my early childhood, I`m going to go with nearly 40 years of practical experience, rather than someone with NO practical experience pontificating.

That said, every internet message board is full of pseudo-scientists like McDuff. And McDuff ol` bean, if it`s science you require, may I suggest reading the book entitled "The Intelligence of Dogs - Canine Consciousness and Capabilities" by Stanley Coren BEFORE you reply here with any MORE pseudo-science.

Or, maybe try living with a dog.

    Jerk.

I know the man who made this, he is a friend of my parents. All he did is film his dog behaving erratically, playing with a ball and then add voice over.

@ Martomator: You`re full of sh*t. The dog in the video has already been identified. It died awhile back, and even has a website.

It never ceases to amaze me the number of people who log on here and talk sh*t like they know something when they really don`t know anything at all.

Hang your head in shame douchebag.
