as far as internet content goes. I would have to be the ratios as thus:

Porn - 40%
Advertising - 35%
Education - 10%
Useless crap - 10%
News - 5%

although, I feel the bottom 3 are actually less and the top 2 are more. needless to say, porn and advertising easily compile more than 60% and maybe closer to 75% of the internet`s content.

It was the all that info we got from the aliens at Site 19 located outside of Area 51 that has allowed for our scientific renaissance. Seriously though, nice informative piece.

"I still wonder what the internet looks like from the inside. Like on that episode of Futurama."

If you picked it apart to its base it would look like this 00011101010111000011100110101110011100 but about a million pages of that.

It was at CERN where the French internet malarkey was first created, me thinks. Before they got their amazing idea to destroy the world. Joking, there`s some crazy things kicking off at CERN. Don`t know how legit some of them are though, those in the Da Vinci Code for example.

"Professor at ucla started that rumor to see how many people believed him and he won"

Well, that, and the fact that Al actually DID say it may have something to do with it.

you don`t respect technology then yudontn0me...its takes a respect and slight understanding to be interested in that video.

Had ZERO idea France had anything to do with the internet, but they had alot.

I knew about the military part of it, its what makes newsgroups such a precious resource. they will never make newsgroups illegal for the simple fact it is the basis of the internet. if it wasn`t for military newsgroups, the internet wouldn`t be around (well, maybe but not the way it is today).

Also, does anyone here NOT know what dial up was?

Just out of curiosity; I met someone who has never heard of it.
