This is a JET powered train, not a rocket powered train. There is a rather large difference between the two.

So THAT`S what they did instead of general hygiene...

PS if you`re French, you have full reign to rip one on America.

It was invented by a room full of French military generals who asked the question, "How can we all run away from an invading country in the fastest way possible?" Hence, the Aerotrain!

Can`t most European and Japanese trains hit an average of 235mph? For that matter, can`t Bugatti Veyron do that on the open highway?

----------

The Veyron in theory can do that, in reality not because there`s always some bastard in the way unless it`s a German Autobahn at about 2 in the morning and even then what little traffic there is is so much slower than you it`s not a good idea.

As for the trains, the bullet trains in Japan and several train types in Europe cruise at around 185. The French are bringing out a new generation that`ll be 220 but they spend crazy amounts of money on their trains, it`s a national icon and costs them billions a year.

It was abandoned because there was a better high speed train developed. The TVG
I trust wikipedia on the whole its when you go into detail you need to buy a book.
