"We found that the extent to which people used positive emotion words like `great,` `happy,` `love,` tended to be happier in their relationships

I`d say no sh*t Sherlock but looks like people did already.

Not exactly true. I use `I` when typing purely because I like to use the English language correctly. And my boyfriend could be better..

:o not supposed to start a sentence with `and`!!

only joking, the only thing i got from this is

I=Love NBC=Useless,

nah i couldnt care

"i wonder if the findings are even relevant.

Statistically relevant, absolutely."

10 days of instant-message conversations from nearly 70 U.S. couples who had been dating for about one and a half years and had an average age of 19.
Perhaps you didn`t finish the sentence:
Statistically relevant, absolutely stupid.

So:
"Love you" ----> be worried
"I hope you get polio" -----> you`ve got her, you great big macho loverboy you.

That takes a weight off my shoulders, I can even cancel the tests...

Or it could just mean that the women who use "I" more frequently are self absorbed. :p

"Women tend to be more emotionally expressive in general and tend to be more DISCLOSING in general... beyond women wanting to DISCLOSE more and DISCLOSING more in their everyday life, that when they do DISCLOSE more in their relationships..."

Also I`m noticing another trend in everyone agreeing with the first poster`s general attitude. Just like every other post on IAB

Ok. . . this is exactly what gives us Psychology majors a bad rep.

What a complete sense of BS to even conduct this study - and then publish it?!!

Results: The text messages mean what the say!

Cost: Less time spent on something important.

That was dumb.

My grandmother was married when she was 14, and the marriage lasted until her husband`s and her own death. She didn`t have a computer.

That was a worthless read. Everything stated in that article was obvious. *rolls eyes* It irritates me how people put money into these sorts of studies, when there are clearly more important things to be done.
