WTF is wrong with the interviewer? He`s sweaty and bearded like a somekind of hobo. Almost like a drug addict who is in need of a fix... Other than that, the game looks cool. I can imagine "through fire and flames" being quite challenging.

it makes an interesting point that if u do get reel good @ GH and spend so much time on it there`s nothing for the reel world [i personally dislike GH] but u sort of get to make music and by doing so shouldn`t the controller be considered an instrument?

i duno .. i , like many, was self taught .. the hardest part is pushin urself through the caulused finger tips and getin the whole "pressin down the chord" hard enough thing .. it isnt jus a button .. n then kids wil go bak to noobin it up on GH lol ..

This has the potential to be great. Not to sure about the whole disney thing, i love disney movies but a serious computer game made by them i`m not sure. $200.00 is a bit pricey. It would be cool if they could give you the program for say like $50 or $60 and let you play whichever type of guitar you wanted through it. But hey they could still do that... its not out for a while yet probably.
I still won`t buy it mind, i`ll stick to drums, guitar frustrates me lol

Or you could just learn to play the instrument without paying $200 for a game and crappy guitar made by Disney...

Call me crazy but that`s what I did.

Disney? $200? Computers? Ah... sounds suck-ish. First off, it`s Disney, so I think we can all think of the songs that are probably bound to be on it... 200 bucks? Really... and Computers? GH is played off the TV, and now we`re moving to computers?

No, thank you. I`ll stick with GH.

the game will probably cost $80 or so, which isn`t so bad considering its a teaching tool. It would be a nice pick up for a school to teach a group of kids guitar, my only problem is they are doing it more like guitar hero meaning you aren`t teaching the chords, just what strings to press to play songs/notes. that isn`t much better thant he kids who search for tabs online, and you ask them to play a chord and have no idea.

I hope there is more to the game than just that. and btw, people complaining about the price. isn`t guitar hero $100? this is a REAL guitar that can be played outside the game. go stand on the street corner and play your guitar hero controller to make money...

and this is aimed at the "tween" market (whatever that means), so A) the guitar isn`t a full size, and B) they are going to play the crappy music the tweens will know.

I wonder if the interface just plugs the amp plug into a USB plug or if its more intricate. how is this different than a

Erm... not their cartoons on T.V. Those are just as bad as Hanna Montana from what I`ve seen.
I meant the songs from Aladdin and such.

Is the $200.00 the game with the guitar?
If so, how much would just the game cost?

Also, while Disney made the guitar, the songs may not be from Disney. That hasn`t been specified. But, of course, if Disney is a part of this, then they would have taken the opportunity to put their songs on it. Maybe the songs won`t be Hanna Montana and the Jonas Brothers, though.
Maybe they`ll put in those better songs from their cartoons. But, this too may not be the case since Hanna Montana, and the Jonas Brothers are so popular now. :-/

To all those whining about the price, it`s hard enough to find a decent electric guitar for under $200 and this game comes with a guitar and the software. So I actually think this is a good value for this sort of thing.

"It`s a great idea, since Guitar Hero is slowly being recognized as - *shiver* - a real instrument. Real guitar is just cooler.
As long as we can play songs OTHER than Jonas Brothers and Hannah Montana, it`s good."

Amen, to that. I need some Real Rock to play that.

I don`t know...somehow i feel that unless you have the patience and willingness to learn how to play the guitar without notes scrolling down the screen, you probably won`t have it with said application either. If you go "learning guitar is so boring, but this game makes it fun!" then you are fecked right from the start. You`ll never learn.

Sounds good, but 2 questions:

1. What`s up with the Disney partnership? I dont like where that is going...

2. $200? Seriously? What are they charging you for? It`s a GAME.

What is it about Guitar Hero that makes "real" guitarists come out of the woodwork and try to masturbate their ego into the faces of Guitar Hero players?

"zomfg u fags lurn to play a real guitar liek me lol"

And both of those guys in the video were creepy as poo.

Next step will be creating learning games for piano keyboard, drums, flutes and other musical instruments... then there will be math games etc...
Combining teaching and fun would be great if they can pull it off.

Is it just me, or do any other real guitarists think this is a terrible idea? we dont want a bridge between the guitar hero kids and real guitarists. it`ll undermine everything ive spent years learning how to do and result in people asking `hey, did you learn this off the video game?` or `i dont remember playng that song on the game, is there a new version out?` both of which will result in me punching people in the face, and likely jailtime. no thanks disney. you fail again.

Finally. Now they`re going to put some reasonable price tags on the plastic guitars for the guitar hero games.

It`s hard to make a PS2 collection when you have overpriced controlers like those guitars. 80$ for a plastic guitar with some buttons on it... no thanks.

as an actual guitar player (the real thing.. not something with plastic buttons) i can safely say that i WILL be buying this. sure the songs might suck. but all of you morons are too accustomed to playing a fake guitar about half a meter big to see that this is something revolutionary. it might not help me with any theory. but i think its worth it to be able to hit the notes on the screen without looking at the guitar. theres alot of good to come of this
0

Male 2,788
So the game can`t actually teach you EVERYTHING about playing the guitar, but it MIGHT if they release a newer version with more applications on teaching other things.
0
Reply
Male 2,788
I think you would have to be moderately accustomed to playing the guitar first before you can actually play the game.

I mean, there are the other things..

-Sore fingertips(not callused enough)
-knowing where the frets are and being able to press them in time
-playing NOTES on a real music sheet
-using a tablature

Female 105
Everyone is really angry that this is Disney, but you have to remember that this is the first STEP with this technology. Think of its potential, instead.

Also, does it benefit advanced guitarists, or just beginners?

Pros:

-You can actively learn and practice chords and the stuff needed to play guitar
-You can plug your own guitar into it

Cons:

-Songs will suck. BAD.

If Disney had any brains(so it`ll never happen), they`d make an offshoot site so that, for a small fee, you could download/add additional songs.

OR, they`d have a section where you could add/make your own songs.

That`s a good idea, in theory, but think about...It`s one thing to have a game based on rock guitar, another to actually try and play music. That not what music is all about, and it`s not going to make anyone a rock star while you stare at colored lights on your laptop. They already have keyboards that flash on every note you are supposed to play, but nobody actually learns anything from matching lights. Play in a real band if you want to make real music.
