I doubt he did it the traditional way s0rd by twisting and turning, but by taking out the coloured cubes are replacing them with different colours individually.

    And boo hoo, a swastika.

Before you all get too excited, the swastika is a symbol of good luck and prosperity in some parts of the world and balance and harmony in others. Looking at the name of the guy who made it, I doubt he intended to use it for it`s Nazi connotations.

"The swastika means indominable peace," this is true Red5TheFinn, and it is 2009 not 1952, but as time goes on, things, symbols, and words often change meanings. for example, how bout the word gay, at the time of WWII if you were gay you were happy, now while gay still means happy, if you call someone gay the first impression is not happy, but rather(well you know). so the use of the swastika by the nazi party has forever changed the meaning of that symbol. thats life

    Damn it people!

Ok, that symbol was ORIGNIALLY used in southern asia as a symbol for peace. GOT IT.

When the Nazis came along, they found it and used it as their own. In case it wasn`t obvious they did that for a LOT of things.

The film could have been made from an asian country who still views the symbol as a symbol for peace.

Now can we kindly move back to the fact that it is a nerdy box with lots of little parts to make people frustrated while trying to go OCD and color code it?

I did this once with my 7 layer cube, and I can tell you it was an ordeal. Just as I was trying to put the last piece of the first half in place, which is pretty much the fail safe point, the thing fell completely back apart. Extremely frustrating, though I did get it back together after that.

    From the guy`s YouTube description:
"Some people have complained about the alleged presence of Nazi influence in the video at about 1:10, but I must insist again that it is nothing of the sort; simply being a stylized logo of my initials "Yh" which bears a remarkable similarity to the symbol."

It is sort of a remarkable coincidence, `cause this guy`s stylized initials are on a 5x5 grid pattern, just like the Nazi swastika (I Wiki`d it, of course).

I do see how it looks like a YH, so I completely accept the guy`s contention that he happens to innocently share the symbol with the Nazis. I just wouldn`t use it on business cards if I were him.

And Unsub, as Sporka kindly explained, it`s a 7x7 Rubik`s cube, the parts of which are assembeled using stop-motion. I`ll add that the author creates a number of shapes and patterns during the sequence on the sides of the cube, and the swastika (which I`m surprised Germany... or any country... could be so on the ball that they prevented this from being shown on the internet there) is only shown for a couple of seconds.

Ugh, I hate explaining this, and it`s been mentioned earlier, but there`s nothing offensive about a straight swastika. It`s a Hindu and Bhuddist symbol of luck (or peace or some other similar positive subject, I`m not that well-versed in these things). The only reason it`s got a bad rep is `cuz Hitler stole it for his Nazi version, which is always diagonal, so there is a difference.

Wiki it if you want. And as previously mentioned, it isn`t even a swastika on that cube. It`s actually just the creator`s initials (bad decision on his end, though). Please try not to be so ignorant, people.

    agree with Req.

It is originally a buddist and hindu symbol that represented life and prosperity. Hitler took it, and turned it in the opposite direction to mean death and despair.

On a completely different note (though, by all means, it SHOULDN`T be), that`s one hell of a production. I`m impressed, especially by how each side filled up in a unique manner. And changing the cube into those designs musta been hell, taking it all of then putting it back together in specific patterns.

    You mean Neo-Nazi cubes?
Because the prefix neo doesn`t have anything to do with Nazis... It means new.
