The swastika is a sign of peace in many countries.
You mean Neo-Nazi cubes?Because the prefix neo doesn`t have anything to do with Nazis... It means new.
I`m not sure if that`s what you meant, but I just wanted to clarify.
It is originally a buddist and hindu symbol that represented life and prosperity. Hitler took it, and turned it in the opposite direction to mean death and despair.
Yup. Duck is right... the icon was clearly designed after that level.
Wiki it if you want. And as previously mentioned, it isn`t even a swastika on that cube. It`s actually just the creator`s initials (bad decision on his end, though). Please try not to be so ignorant, people.
It`s not a swastika! It`s the Level 3 of the original Legend of Zelda, the first quest.
Opie... I hope you realize how out-of-context that can be taken.
I do see how it looks like a YH, so I completely accept the guy`s contention that he happens to innocently share the symbol with the Nazis. I just wouldn`t use it on business cards if I were him.
And Unsub, as Sporka kindly explained, it`s a 7x7 Rubik`s cube, the parts of which are assembeled using stop-motion. I`ll add that the author creates a number of shapes and patterns during the sequence on the sides of the cube, and the swastika (which I`m surprised Germany... or any country... could be so on the ball that they prevented this from being shown on the internet there) is only shown for a couple of seconds.
It`s like, BULGING out of the sides, good god. How do you solve something like that!?
Yep, and the thing looks like a headace to try to do.
unsub - It`s a giant Rubik`s Cube being assembled with stop-motion animation.
Ok, that symbol was ORIGNIALLY used in southern asia as a symbol for peace. GOT IT.
When the Nazis came along, they found it and used it as their own. In case it wasn`t obvious they did that for a LOT of things.
The film could have been made from an asian country who still views the symbol as a symbol for peace.
Now can we kindly move back to the fact that it is a nerdy box with lots of little parts to make people frustrated while trying to go OCD and color code it?
The damn Nazis ruined the symbol for what it means.
but awesome cube
Jeez, get a grip people it`s 2009 not 1952.
"The swastika`s Indian name comes the Sanskrit word svasti, meaning good fortune, luck and well being. "
If you take a LONG time to learn, you can make patterns.
was that a swastika?
And boo hoo, a swastika.
