I`ve eaten some of these dishes and they weren`t really the weirdest. Mostly they were quite ok. Scorpions are nice and crispy, bamboo maggots a bit dry, giant bugs are quite tasty. What`s the deal?

It`s weirder and more dangerous to eat my sister`s cooking.

BTW: I miss Haggis in this list. never tried so far. pity.

Have fish eggs then have fish sperm and make fish in your stomach!
The only one I wouldn`t eat (probably) would be the eye. Fish eyes creep me out. >.>

Balut is way worse than most of these. No, I haven`t tried it. No, I don`t care, even if it does taste downright scrumptious.

Must be the drunkin bums in Chi-town that eat bugs, cause I`ve never heard or seen such a thing.

Raw octopus is weird? The author must have not eaten sushi for a long time, or never at all.

Raw octopus sushi is delicious!

There`s this one dish my dad cooks with pig blood and vinegar, then puts pork and pig`s liver in it.
It`s tasty. :P

Yeah those are sperm sacs. Considering that I eat fish eggs all the time, and think they`re yummy, I wouldn`t have any problem eating the sperm. Actually, I would be just fine eating anything on that list.

the raw herring is commenly done in norway.

the raw whale meat i don`t understand why`s on the list :S

its just meat... uncooked proteins. i have had whale meat on several ocations and eating it raw /rare is just like having a banana.

but the eye (p1) freaked me out :P how do you eat that? where do you start? isnt it just 0 nutricion and 99% slime?

And aero:

Most chinese people would find raw octopus weird. Take it from a chinese person (the japanese wouldn`t though, I saw it on bizarre foods)

Eating bugs is *not* common in Chicago, at all. I don`t know anyone who does it or has done it.

Personally, I would eat the bugs, the crocodile and raw octopus. Maybe the Chitlins.

I`ve already had chicken cartilage, it`s not that bad... Tuna Eyeball doesn`t sound too gross, but it`s not for me.

But the rest are a bit too much for me.

Well I don`t eat meat (or cheese or... semen) so I would be the rude foreigner who doesn`t want to eat their crazy crap. The only thing I could possibly eat would be the rotten soybeans, but I`m not even a huge fan of non-rotten soybeans..

So yeah, that basically crosses off everything on that list.

"lol im mad that chitlins made it to the list lol. they are quite common down here. i, however, hate them[theyre kinda gross smelling]"

"I wonder why raw harring from Holland is on that list, we eat that here in Belgium too, nothing gross about it, I don`t eat it because I don`t like fish but you can`t compare that with an eyeball or a shoe horse, come on!"

That`s because you are from that region, so you would think it`s not weird. I, however, find both of those things to be weird, and someone from china might not think raw octopus is weird.

I cant imagine some of the bacteria that lives in these fish and things. I mean dogs have thousands of bacteria in their mouths that could kill us. Thats probably the reason for diarhea. The thing i am least likely to eat is anything alive

Reminds me of the TopGear Vietnam Special (US people make sure to watch it when it crosses the pond - it`s downloadable at Final Gear as well)

[spoiler">
They ate cooked snake, a still-beating snake heart, drank vodka with snake blood and later had crispy sparrow. Well, two of them did. Richard just had rice crispies.
