First of all, did anybody pay attention to the description of this video??? wtf? "This is precisely why they tell you to check your shoes before you try then on when you wake up in a place. "

And no there are not roo`s hoping around everywhere! I mean, on like 70% of the land there is, but thats because its mainly outback
But the places where they are lots of people... definitely not lots of roos

"i`m not going to australia now"

Wimp.
The most you have to worry about there is getting too hot. Just go in a pool to avoid the jellyfish.

"Question for people from Australia: Are there really a bunch of kangaroos hopping around everywhere? All the movies and pictures always have kangaroos. Is it true?"

Rofl! Oh god no. If there were kangaroos hopping around the city people would be terrified to go outside (unless of course they were tame somehow).
Kangaroos are pests, but you`ll only find them in the outback and in zoos.

God you guys are a bunch of wimps. I live in Queensland (Australia) and there is nothing to be worried about. I have never once had a problem with snakes or spiders...or crocodiles. It`s the Koalas you gotta watch out for with their beady little eyes and big flappy heads. If you turn your back on a Koala it will eat your soul. Also Pinkand green in repsonse to:
Question for people from Australia: Are there really a bunch of kangaroos hopping around everywhere? All the movies and pictures always have kangaroos. Is it true?

Yes, yes it is. If you have anough time, patience and skill. It is possible to train them. My kangaroo Jo-jo fetches the mail for us every morning.

Holy freaking crap!!!! I`ve come to a decision and decided NOT to go to Australia or South America. If the poisonous creatures don`t get you, it will be the plane ride home in which one could become LOST. Whereas you`ll get trapped on a crazy freaking island and encounter way worse monsters than the mentioned ones in the article.

How do people in Australia not lie awake at night in a cold sweat when they think about all the evil things that live there? Not just in the water, but all the bugs and snakes as well. *shiver* Oh, and mushie, it`s octopi.

Just make sure you stay away from the wombats... and drop bears ;)

Yes, because as soon as you step off that plane a big swarm of jellyfish and octopusses(?) jump on top of you and start eating you...

has anyone else noticed how many animal lists have been cropping up lately? Is there some kind of correlation with only having 6 hours of sun a day and being obsessed with creepy animals?

Come on, Australia is not that dangerous ... sure, there are many poisonous and dangerous animals, but it`s unlikely to come across them.
I`ve spent several months in Australia and the only poisonous animal I`ve seen there was a dugite (a snake).

There`s so many dangerous animals in Australia, it`s kinda silly.
Kangaroos are dangerous (I`m sure their kick can kill you), Cassowaries can kill you with their kick and they`re ugly, there`s a load of spiders and snakes which can kill you and there`s various fish, jellyfish and octopus there which can kill you.
I lived there for a while, I remember being taught in school to shake our shoes in case there`s a spider in them. All the spiders I came across weren`t deadly poisonous though, and the only snakes I saw were in enclosures in zoos. And I remember whenever we went to the beach there`d be a bunch of man-of-wars washed up.

Australia`s cool as long as you stay away from the water! And the desert. Basically, just hole up in the cities. They`re pretty awesome.

that`s not the worst of your troubles! there is a subspecies of the box jellyfish called the irukandji. It packs a punch known as the "irukandji syndrome" which includes excruciating limb cramps,, severe pain in the back and kidneys, sweating, vomiting, headaches, restlessness and high blood pressure! and it all lasts for WEEKS ON END! yaaay! Oh yeah and you know what`s worse? they are FRICKEN INVISIBLE! they are so small that it is virtually impossible to see one before they sting you and send you into hell. Oh yeha, and those jellyfish nets that australian beaches put up to keep OUT the box jellyfish? irukandji is small enough to swim right past `em.
