Well, I`m okay with it, as long as they stay away from me.

It`s a little late now, but that was still awesome.

The whole thing against it was "Think of the children"... screw the children, they can figure things out on their own. "Think of the Money" is a more accurate thing.

Supporting Gay marriage well help the economy, helping the economy helps America, helping America is part of Patriotism, so supporting Gay marriage is patriotic... apparently those "patriot" Bible thumpers are only patriotic when it gives them an excuse to discriminate.

"Oh dear", says God(`s sycophants), "I(we) hadn`t thought of that," and promptly vanishes in a puff of logic(if only)

"We should all be able to practice whatever we want, to believe whatever we want, and not persecute those who think differently."
A gay rights activist once told me this. Then he found out that I was a Christian and promptly told me that I was wrong about my beliefs, that I was a piece of sh*t bigot, and that if there actually was a hell, I would be going to it. All because I simply answered his question when he asked me if I was a Christian.
This whole let the gay people marry thing doesn`t bother me much. What does bother me is when the same people who constantly say that there is no equality have a fcking conniption when you disagree with them.
I`m sorry that I don`t always see eye-to-eye with you. I`m going to disagree with you sometimes; everyone is going to have different ideologies. But don`t stand there and bemoan the downfall of civilization because of inequality, and then tear me to shreds because I have different beliefs.

Homosexuals need to get it through their heads, Gay is not a race. This isn`t a civil issue. You have rights as we all do. What you want is to shove your choice to participate in this evil practice down our throats but label it as acceptance. It is a choice. And just because some liberal celebrities make a mockery of the Bible doesn`t mean that homosexuality should be accepted. It is wrong and forever will be. Should those who have homosexual tendencies be free to practice them? Yes, they already are free to do that. But when i share my opinion don`t call me a bigot unless your willing to accept feedback on my part. I say let everyone practice and participate in whatever you wish but don`t expect everyone to think as you do. Even atheists have that right but you don`t see them picketing churches and destroying property. Be civil, that`s all.

To be honest, I think a lot of the reason why the Pro8 lobby has failed in their efforts is represented here in this video... 53% (or something) voted for prop 8, yet you have represented all of them in this video as uptight, ultra-conservative religious righters... call me crazy, but after 30+ years in CA, I`m SURE less than 53% is ultra-conservative, uptight religious righters and evangelicals... trust me on this one... and BTW - if you want to talk about bigotry, why are Pro8 people all being cast as bigoted, ultra-conservative uptight evangelicals... that`s pretty bigoted...

For the same reason the opposing side was full of thin hippies and gay guys with lisps. It`s supposed to be like a musical where the costumes and acting is supposed to show you the character and clearly define who they are. :|

Myrikal, have you seen the "Atheists Group Protest State-Owned Nativity Scene" post? I bet there are some atheists that picket churches and destroy property. I think that no matter what group people are in(not just the homosexuals), there are always going to be people that are not civil and take thinkgs out of hand. We just have to deal with it.

This is all complete bull crap. All gay people just need to understand that they`re all going to hell do to their immoral practices. So are all of the adulterers, pedophiles, and other kinky people out there with deviant sexual practices. However controversial or silly this musical was, there is the point that separation of church and state exists. But, I do have to say that denying the right to marriage based on homosexuality is indeed a violation of basic rights in my opinion, or at the very least a form of blatant discrimination which as I believe that most rational people consider themselves to be non-racist in america, there should be no question of whether gays have the same legal rights as other heterosexual people. With that in mind, gays should be allowed to marry however, they`re still going to hell by christian standards and in my opinion they are living a sinful life. I am entitled to my opinion and they to theirs, but all this commotion is unecessary.

I`m not sure entirely where it states specifically that homosexuality is wrong in the bible. however, I do recall reading in Numbers certain laws concerning men sleeping with men and or emission of semen between them that put such practices in a negative connotation and require some serious sacrifices to make amends. This establishes it as a sin in the same category as other immoral sexual practices. Look at the story of sodom and gomorrah(sp?), or have you completed neglected your study of the bible. where do you think the word sodomy comes from? And besides, even though you misquote me by assuming I said christ is against homosexuality, I believe that Jesus was jewish and therefore believed in the torah, which includes the torah. I also believe he accepted that God`s punishment in sodom and gomorrah(sp? again) was justified.
And to Monsdurr, to which parts do you refer as "uneducated?", do tell, do tell?

oh and as a note, I do not believe that all gays will go to hell. I only believe that those who do not accept the tenets of christianity, along with all others who fall in this same category, and have sinned/lead a sinful life will end up in hell. That`s just how christianity works. And btw, I do believe that a majority of the united states does practice christianity or some version of this, and therefore, a majority of the united states should be opposed to sinful practices. included in this should be divorce. Why do christians seem to always be quick to overlook this, but are fast to condemn gay people.

Either way, Christianity teaches not to judge those who are outside the faith, but to hold accountable those who are within the body of Christ.

No, I don`t agree with Homosexuality...but I also don`t agree with theft, lying, cheating, divorce, and many other "deviant" ways; unfortunately, the church needs to correct themselves before damning others.

The Bible teaches that Jesus died for all. It is just a matter of whether or not a person chooses to accept and believe.

However, just like those who are of other faiths (or non-faiths) have the freedom of opinion in America.... I choose to stand by my morals and beliefs and say no to gay marriage. No person on this earth can make the claim that two people of the same sex copulating is nature`s intent.

Yes, because oppression and hate are epitomes of moral fiber.
And what do you mean, "nature`s intent?" Nature doesn`t think, and, therefore, can`t have intent. Anything that occurs in species is due to natural selection and evolution, and, despite what many think, the beneficial stuff is not all that survives the process. Every once in a while, due to pure chance, a trait that is either completely non-beneficial or even hurtful to a species may survive, simply because of chance circumstances. The idea that only strong traits survive is illogical, because of the nature of both circumstance and random chance.
Besides, we know that homosexuality is not a conscious choice, because we`ve observed it in many species - not just humans. Even unintelligent species have been observed to engage in such acts. So unless people who believe it is a conscious choice start to say that all of those species have the brain power (or in religious peoples` case, a soul) they`ve got no

Marriage as a legal title should just be done away with. The government should only recognize civil unions no matter who you are "marrying" and leave the actual matrimony thing up to the church you decide to have the ceremony in.

Then we can all have the same legal rights (which is the most important part) and homosexual couples then will be equal with every other couple in America.

Marriage is a religious ceremony that should be left to the churches to take care of and should stay out of government. I can somewhat understand a religious person not wanting homosexual couples to be married since they feel it is some intrusion on their religion. I don`t think they understand though that term marriage has transformed into a different meaning for many people who don`t even think about the religious aspect of it.

Does anyone know if hetero couples can be in a civil union? If they can, that is what I`m doing,

There are many problems with this argument (which gets used alot). Stoning, not eating shellfish, not eating pigs, etc. are all OLD TESTAMENT laws that Jews had to follow. Yes, Homosexuality was banned in the old testament, so it seems as if it should be thrown out along with the others once Jesus came. The problem is, Homosexuality is talked about in the New Testament. That`s why Christians did away with the old stuff, but kept the condemnation of homosexuality.

I`m not trying to argue either side, but if you are going to argue, you need to get your facts straight. Christians didn`t "pick and choose" which things to throw out and which things to believe.

Does anyone know if there is a party/group against extremism? The only thing i hate are people who are totally convinced of their own opinion, thinking all others are idiots. Arguments of this nature are pointless, people do it to beat their chest at someone else and say "i`m right, you`re wrong" Does anyone here think someone is going to come out and post "your argument has moved me, i now believe gays have the right to marry."? come on. People like this are scum. For anyone to hate another for religion is folly. To the truly religious, the idea that gays are going to hell is as clear as the sky is blue. Nothing will change in this manner. The only thing i know is that we, as people, know nothing. Anything is possible, whether our feeble mind can agree with that or not. All we can do is try to be open minded, not viewing the other side as an enemy, but as a person. A person with just as much room for correctness and error as we have. So stop hating each

    I agree kmuggee.

Marriage should be about love and love only. And people should be free to love whoever they want no matter what gender they are!

@CEFKA: and HOW would gays "corrupt their children"

    ways you will probably answer:
"THEY WILL RAISE THEIR KIDS GAY!!!!"
not true, gays will raise their kids to be who they are, not who gays are.

"THEY ARE PEDOPHILES, ALL OF THEM"
the definition of homosexual: someone who is physically attracted to their own sex
the definition of pedophile: someone who is physically attracted to minors.
    two radically different things.

These Christians DO pick and choose! They choose to skip over the "judge not lest ye be judged" part of the Bible.

Notice how I said `these` Christians. Not all Christians are screwed up jerks. A large majority of them are very wonderful people, actually.

smartbomb314, What cefka would want to say right now is that America is a free country. No one should be forced to accept or support anything. I am guessing that you are a liberal, gay supporter. The last time I saw someone like you "accept and support" president Bush was... never. Everyone in America has the right to their own beliefs, but they should not have to force others to accept it with them. That is the beauty about America. You don`t have to accept or support anything if you don`t want to.
