i think they might do it again next year, since it is detroit and because the lions suck ass. i almost feel sorry for the detroit fans, but i dont because they`re most likely Red Wings fans so i dont have sympathy.

can`t put a blanket statement that nobody will do it again. there have been in the past 3 years plenty of 2-14 teams and even a 1-15 team.

charlie palillo was just having this conversation, he`s a sports talk guy, and he is confident that a team with go 0-16 before one goes 16-0 again. it will probably happen again in most of our lifetimes, its only been 30 years since the merger. and lets not forget the bucs went 0-14. just because they were an expansion team doesn`t leave too much excuse, the Texans won at least 1 game their first year, in fact they won 4.

I have to say, I was rooting for them to go 0-16.

I feel oddly ashamed and satisfied at the same time.

""We have nobody to point a finger at other than ourselves," said Marinelli, who planned to report to work and watch film today, like any other Monday."

At last, someone breaks the "I`m a sports manager and if I fail epically I`ll pass the blame onto someone/something else" mould.

"No other NFL football team has done this and no one else will."

I wouldn`t bet that no one else will. My Rams were 2-14 this year so they were close. I could see another crappy team having a crappy year and doing it. Granted, the Lions suck harder than a black hole but I think it`s a lot easier to go 0-16 than to go 16-0.

    Hahaha!
    You cheer for the Rams.

as a Canadian, I don`t have a favorite NFL team. I decided to cheer for the Titans this year, and I am amazed they`re doing good considering I cheered for the Vikings last year.

I think that this is just the sort of record the sport needed after last year`s "16-0" cheat-a-thon. At least this perfect record was earned the honestly and it sets a benchmark for teams to aim for. No one else will ever be the first team to go 0-16, they can only hope to be outscored by more points to be "The Worst Team Ever."

I am from Detroit, I am a Lion`s season ticket holder. $750 dollars a year. I am embarrassed and done with them. My wife and I just had a little baby boy, Ive always dreamed of taking my son to Lions games. Guess I will have to find a new team. The organization will never win as long as William Clay Ford is the owner. They fired Marinelli and Millen but kept Tom Lewand and Martin Mayhew as president and GM. Might as well have kept Millen. IDIOTS!!!!
