Not even an all powerful god could save GM now. Sure you can delay the inevitable for a while longer A year, maybe 3. But That company has been taking a dive since the 60`s...

Hah, we don`t go to church anymore. XP
Love how some people only turn to God during the bad times, instead of really making him/her/it part of their lives..

I live near Detroit and all my family have worked in the auto industry.
Glad my dad and grandpa are retired. :P

This is the death of the last 3 free auto industries in the world. Now the big three will be government supported like all the other car companies in the world, why is this bad? Do you think the U.S. government is going to allow competition to get the upper hand over it? We won`t get American cars cheaper, they will still be grossly overpriced, foriegn cars will now become unaffordable from import taxes and tariffs, thus eliminating competitive pricing.

Well, Detroit is 100% ependent on the auto industry, and a lack of one may result in another craaaazy riot. They have much more of a right than those retards paraying for low gas prices.

Norris, the unholy secret to Wal*Mart`s success is planting stores in areas with a lot of mom-n-pops. They suck the business out of those like a succubus does a soul out of a man`s dick.

We need money to bail out the buggy-whip industry, the manual typewriter industry, and prop up all those blacksmiths and stone-masons that are in danger of losing their jobs

bailing out businesses is anti capitalistic.

You make bad choices, you should go down, the OOONNLY industry I can think of that needed saving was the airline industry a few years after 9/11 here..and thats it.

BUT, what they should do is get rid of all those union workers, Walmart is a prime example, bans unions and fires workers who try to form them. and look at how the company is.., biggest chain of stores on the planet!

Hahaha Christians are funny XD I think this is actually less weird than praying to before an image of, say, a torture device. We all laugh at this, but remember how weird the religious practices we consider "normal" really are.

We now pray that GM and Ford learn to make functioning cars, and we also pray that the lazy-ass workers in Detroit do some work.

Lord Hear Our Prayer.

Due to the bad financial market, Daimler Chrysler has merged with the Church. It is now known as Jesus Chrysler.

If you didn`t have to pay union workers $90 an hour and give them 3 months paid leave to hang fenders none of this would have ever happened. At Toyota factories in America the same job pays $27 dollars an hour. Unions will bring down this country.

unbwogable it`s good you have a backup plan in case things go belly up. My mate and I plan to go up to his Dad`s area and get a place in the mountains, where life isn`t really heavily effected like urban and suburban is. Living off the grid can be very beneficial in times like these. At least this is what I have been told.

I live in Michigan, albeit far from Detroit, and I can tell you, if the auto industry falls as far as it is poised to, the ripple from that disaster will be felt FAR and wide.

Incidentally, my failsafe plan is a relative in Texas with a large house.

i don`t even know what to say about these bailouts. when the government starts throwing around billions of dollars it just becomes sort of surreal to me. anyway, it seems incredibly perverse to me that we are resorting to socialist methods in order to save big business. it all just seems very contradictory and desperate.

Dakkar, they can just as easily write their congressmen, mayor, and other elected officials and tell them how they feel.

People can`t do anything by themselves because a bunch of twits with credit cards ruined credit for everyone.

The car industry is hurting because no one can get a loan, I`m sure we all know this. Therefore, these auto plants will continue to close and regular people will continue to lose jobs.

Anyone criticizing this clearly hasn`t seen Detroit recently. If the auto industry goes belly up the lashback on those citizens will by and large eclipse the downfall of the steel industry in Pittsburgh.

Come on, the prayers to God are not the real motive. The real motive is to get a message to Congress that a lot of citizens are concerned about their welfare. Detroit and the whole of America need an auto bailout. Plain and simple.

You know what, from this kind of behavior, I don`t think people WANT to take responsibility for anything! No, why bother, GOD will do it FOR us!

How...CHILDISH!

First people prayed for lower gas prices, then people prayed for rain on Obama`s campaign, now people are praying for corporate bailouts.

You get the feeling people just tend to turn to god when they could JUST AS WELL DO SOMETHING THEMSELVES?!

why do these pastors feel like they can interject politics into religion? its the dumbest thing they could possibly do because when they offer up all these prayers unto god and the economy still fails, they might end up losing a member or two. and nobody likes to take a paycut. |-X

alll these priests have banded together to do this so that when something does work for them theyll say it was allmighty g*d that granted their prayers or some such bollocks. I hate them. Its really childish. Lets pray for lowered oil prices and some other stuff.
