I agree with atlacatl. How are you going to call someone crazy for having emotions?
Maybe he has memories of the place stemming back farther than the birth of our parents.
It`s ridiculous that you`d label him "crazy" or even laugh at him for this. Generally, I like the things on IAB, but this seriously impacts my view of the operators.

Pendejos...

So now people who like books are crazy huh?
People who have pleasant childhood memories torn from them are crazy huh?

What a sickening way of thought....

Thus the ridiculing of those who are normal continues on...

I`d cry too if a the Barnes & Noble around my house closed

I love books

It`s the same thing like if someone said to an animal lover they couldn`t have pets in the area or someone who`s a hermit doesn`t have internet anymore

Tragic.

I think that books are now considered barbaric trophies awarded to forest butchers.

Wait no that`s the beer talking,.

he sort of reminds me of george costanza when he cries on seinfeld.

but i agree with people who are defending this guy. there`s nothing wrong with sincere feelings like that.

Wait till he discovers that he could get more than a million libraries worth of information on his computer the entire time.

its a little funny because he`s got the whole high-pitched voice, angry old-person crying thing going on, but its also sad because it must be hard to see something that was there all your life go away.

Certainly nothing funny about a grown man crying. It`s actually rather heart wrenching to watch.

I think he`s upset that THIS is what`s getting shut down. It`s a library. Let`s close some things we don`t need as much.

Taxpayer supported buildings that provide free information to the masses closing everywhere is a more important issue than some poor sentimental bastard being fodder for emasculation. The rich get richer and the poor get the picture.

I also agree with pindragon, and find it sad that someone is classed as `crazy` simple because they show human emotion over a place that obviously means a lot to them. To belittle his feelings even further, this video is posted in the `wierd` section.

Are you crying?? AREN YOU CRYING???

THERE`S NO CRYIN` IN THE LIBRARY!!!

FTW?? Talk about getting all emotional and such.. someone smack him with the dictionary then open the page up to the definition of "Wuss"

I agree with pindragon, I was just about to say the same thing actually. It`s really irrelevant that it`s a library, and he is definitely not crazy.

It isn`t about the books here, people. It would be like someone taking away your pet, or a toy you had as a child. It isn`t about not having a place to read, it is closing and destroying a place that is very special to the guy.

Seriously, some of you guys and especially the one who posted the comment on the video itself are complete careless non-nice individuals! The man is emotional, not insane. Hell, I hope the next time you guys are hurt to the point of crying someone mocks you mercilessly and calls you insane.

Have a heart people... Damn...

I shouldn`t have found this as funny as I did. Yes, it`s a shame to tear down a place as important to society as a library, but come on guy... he`s probably going to put a bullet in his brain over this.

Libraries are an important asset for information to the masses, especially in cities, the fact that the US doesn`t use them a lot is deplorable.

We`re getting to be some of the worst off people in the world as far as intellect, culture, understanding and tolerance, and shutting down libraries is just another step towards this nation sinking into deep pit of stupidity that already grips us.

Libraries are a resource that are used far too little in North America. Now Scandanavian countries, they`re among the highest users of libraries in the world, and I can only think that they help contribute to their culture.

People (especially in PA) complain when buildings are scheduled for demolishing, or shutting down.
They always say "Someone should buy it, someone should buy it."
They never find anyone to buy a failing business/church/library etc.
