I`m surprised a moth`s proboscis can do that - usually they`re quite feeble, although having said that, the hawkmoths seem quite strong.

    To Davio...

DRINK blood, DRINK blood. You don`t EAT liquids, or plasma`s if you want to go deeper.

They evolved to suck blood because what they ate didn`t have enough sodium. The take the sodium from blood. They EVOLVED in order to have the ability to drink the blood and take the sodium.

And just wait until it becomes a vital part of the species` diet. THAT would prove a form of evolution at work.

So us beginning to drink milk to get calcium was humans evolving?

I`d call that adaptation. She said they BEGAN using their hook and barbed tongue, which was previously used to get juice from fruits, to drink blood to supplant thier low sodium diets.

Adaptation is different than evolution. Evolution is just a hot keyword right now.

That`s not proof of evolution, if it was then it would be lawyers evolving to suck blood, not moths.

    > Altaru
    > They evolved to suck blood because what they ate didn`t have enough sodium.

This is the sort of statement that DISPROVES evolution. Simple logic, if what they were eating didn`t have enough sodium to keep them alive, they would have died. Therefore they already WERE getting enough sodium, therefore there is no need to evolve to do so. You`re calling adaptation evolution, as usual. The ability to do it was already in the moths, they`ve just adapted to do it better.

It was obama becuase he`s a jew, we all know the holocaust was a lie to cover up the scandelous truth that football is really soccer and soccer is actually football. Something about the economy. It is likely the moths were all homosexuals and, as a result from too much aids and buttf*cking, became blood sucking parasites that hold weekly cult meetings to discuss the weather and other such things. It cant be proved but its likely theyre the reason our troops are dying in Iraq. God doenst exist. Charles Darwin doesnt exist. Mccain is a bastard.

There. I`ve summed up an entire I-A-B debate so you dont have too. I probably offended several *fill space here* pride orginizations just then but I`m sure you`ll thank me later

This seems like adaptation, not evolution.
Evolution is a change in the gene pool of population over time.

Adaptation is an individual response to an environmental factor. Since this is standard in a population of moths, it should be considered evolution. Adaptations are normally the spark of evolutionary change.

It`s all part of the conspiracy to make us not fear nature. Zoologists won`t tell you, but in fact all moths feed on blood. They fly in at night, and if they can get to your eyelids, hands or others parts of your body where the skin in thin, they`ll drink all they can before you notice it. It`s not dangerous for humans, only when the moths are swarming, or if they happen to carry e.g. rabies disease.

scientists say the moths will also evolve into a race of supper intelligent beings after realising that our blood actually has the genes necessary to transcend to a god or similar powerful force of nature.
