I live at Mt Coot-tha, right near that news station. It was pretty nuts here last night, lightning striking tree`s in the yard (it`s mainly bushland). My house is cyclone rated though, not that I ever thought I`d need it...

Intense storm!

Hi to all fellow Australians, good to see an Aussie story bring you all out of the woodwork. Anyone that was near this storm, my sympathies. And whomever built that TV Station`s building ought to be arrested for shoody workmanship, no matter how bad the storm was.

We got stuck in a petrol station for half an hour on the way home... and the massive roof above the pumps was wobbling. When it was at it`s worst, we couldn`t even see the cars that were parked 10 metres away, and people were running across that 10 metres to get inside. A maximum of 3 seconds outside, and they were completely drenched.

lol when it hit, i swear it wasnt that bad and I was in the city. Until I went for a drive to get pizza that night then i saw the carnage. There were suburbs of traffic lights off and trees down. Crazy night. I love my Brisbane

I miss the storms in QLD they were wild. If we left the chairs on the balcony when one hit they would be gone the next day.

I know! Australians unite! Aw, I want to visit... Here in Florida - it`s just a little cold (not too cold that we have to stop wearing the flip flops) and we get all the horrible/crazy/crappy news headlines that makes all look like complete morons.

If I come over there . . . can I have a dingo?

pweez?

She didn`t look too upset about it not being a positive outlook for work tomorrow. Bet she`s dreaming of a day tucked up in bed. I would be. Unless her house has flooded.

yeah we copped that storm, its was nuts. Hail stones bigger than golf balls. Our sister in laws house got trashed with a tree and their garage is written off too. We came out ok but I was driving around town as it was coming over. That thing was MASSIVE.

Nice lightening show though :D

Typical, this war between NSW and QLD keeps going and going, first it was fruit flies being sent across the border to ruin the banana industry, then QLD retaliated with cane toads, now its NSW sending rainstorms. They say the first thing you should attack in an invasion is the media centres, I guess, but that`s just cruel, by the time the QLD`ers remembered what rain looked like it was too late to save them... what`s next, sending millions of Japanese tourists to QLD? Oops too late that one`s been done already.

I hate news stations who think their problems deserve a whole story on air. So your floor is a little damp... your insurance will pay for it. Go talk to the guy living down the street who`s entire roof caved in or something.

Reminds me of when a local station here in Nevada aired a story for like a week when one of their news vans was tagged. Funny stuff.
