monktoast: "you are free to wish whoever you want dead in this world. atleast in america. "

This thing here that posted the above quoted, ladies and gentleman, is... a... voter.

Did you dress as a voter for halloween?

Please, oh for the love of all that is holy, pull your head from your ass before you infect the rest of the world with more stupid. Oh, and please do not have children.

Haha. They`re kids. Didn`t know what they were doing. When I was in grade 5, me and other 3 members of the "Meow Club" would circle around students chanting, "doom on you!" Once we started chanting "you`re gonna dieee" the teachers gave us a talking to.

im sorry but freedom of speech doesnt stop just because someone is offended enough to be provoked with violence by it, in that case all politicians are breaking the law by opening their mouths.

you are free to wish whoever you want dead in this world. atleast in america.

your rhetoric is bullcrap

Lol Amen Splurbyburbl

Some of the dumb asses on here are acting like they understand what "free speech" entails when in fact they have NO CLUE.
This kind of ignorance is EXACTLY what causes people to get up in arms over an issue of "censorship" because they don`t know their own rights granted by the Bill of Rights.

Freedom of speech stops when it provokes violence or incites illegal action (clear and present danger), fighting words, libel, slander, and there are a few others that aren`t as relevant.

Learn what the hell you`re talking about before you spout of the nonsense that is making up all of the "award" winning comments from the `winners` below

That`s right HarlequinJ, Monktoast, Jaellot, Lionhart2, yen223 (although you have an exception): you all just won the Dumb ass award.

They`re kids. They`re ust messing around. Clearly, because they added the names of other kids, they`re just saying stupid things because it`s fun (or was back then). Don`t worry about them, maybe worry about the parents though.

Monktoast: "freedom of speech"

Can someone please explain to this yoohoo why our freedom of speech becomes dead in the water as soon as you yell fire in a crowded theatre... or vocally wish to kill the president.

I would do it myself, but I lost the last few IQ points when I read his snappy one-liner.

That`s NOTHING. When I was in 3rd grade back in the day, they pulled the whole bus over and brought it back to the school because one kid told the other to burn in hell. Hell was apparently a bad word.

When twin brothers yelled "Stupid Jew" out the window at one kid every day after it dropped them off, the bus driver just told them to sit down.

Why is this a huge issue? Agreed, it`s a terrible thought, and I myself support Obama...but freedom of speech is freedom of speech no matter how old you are. These kids shouldn`t be treated like they`re doing something wrong for saying the words.

I`m concerned on a couple of fronts.

1- Death threats from kids who don`t even have body hair is always creepy.

But also 2- Teaching the children that they can`t speak out against an elected official is a gross violation of the First Amendment.

Saying Obama will be a sucky president is one thing, wishing him not merely dead but assassinated is a whole different level of not liking some one.

"Children now love luxury... have bad manners, contempt for authority, show disrespect to their elders... They no longer rise when elders enter the room... contradict their parents, chatter in company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and are tyrants over their teachers." "assasinate Obama... and Katy" lol. u can`t rant politics to a third grader. as a parent that should be held off until they are atleast 12. my classmates were just blurting/coughing drat mcain in my highschool and the teacher was snickering on election day. but NO ONE gives respect to bush so y should obama get any. death threats are wrong but that show "little bush" disgusts me. he`s the president let him leave with a thread of dignity. on second thought, elected officals shoudn`t get respect anyways we should be allowed to throw them out of office thats democracy.

Let`s see, what were the schoolyard chants when I was a kid.

I hate you, you hate me, let`s hang Barney from a tree...

Joy to the world, the teacher`s dead; we barbecued her head...

Scooby-dooby-doo took a poo, Shaggy thought it was candy...

I think that sometimes kids just get a kick out of the violent and/or gross. That doesn`t mean they actually want to do the things they`re chanting. Most of the kids probably did understand what they were saying, but didn`t mean it literally.

Do I condone it? Not really. Do I think it says something about the state of our society? Of course. (It`s the same society that invented South Park, isn`t it?) Am I at all worried by it? Not at all. I would be, if I thought it was a rhetoric of hate inspired by the parents of the children, but I really think that this is a case of kids` "humorous" exaggeration.

I didn`t vote for the guy because of his ties to his reverend, however, I wouldn`t want to see the guy killed. He didn`t win by getting the "Black vote", he won because people were afraid with McCain another Bush would be in office. Racism is Taught, children repeat what they learn, since Idaho has "Skin head type" organizations galore there, I would imagine mommy and daddy would be the ones to bear the blame where these kids are concerned.

Saying that you are going to assassinate ANYONE is wrong. The only reason the school is saying not to do it to people who are elected officials is because it`s easier to explain. They`re only 6,7,8 years old and shouldn`t be going around screaming they want to assassinate the president or anyone. It isn`t about freedom of speech it`s just respect.

"I`m freakin` moving to Kenya. It`s safer there."

Because Kenya has less racism? This just in JokeWolf, the rest of the world is as racist as America is...except for Canada of course. But they aren`t apart of the rest of the world.

As for the video, 3rd graders don`t know anything...I`m concerned about the parents who MUST have said something for them to pick up on that..

The SHOCKING thing is that, no one is actually trying to put those kids in jail, those parents are exercising their free-speech rights to criticize the kids, fancy that

2nd graders would most likely laugh at the use of the word that has the syllable `a$$` in it. To be honest i would`ve i don`t know many who wouldn`t have.

One parent says it, one child repeats it, begins to chant. Friends join in. More join in, it`s disgustilating. But when it comes to so called `sheeple` elementary school chilluns are most definitely rather high up there

Yeah! Go kids!
No, but seriously as much as I`m against Obama this isn`t appropriate in any situation.

And to expand on akijade`s point; what if a student (after all, we don`t know what grade level this particular schools from) were to make valid points about an elected official, that may, or may not, degrade them? What would happened then? Would they get sent to the principal`s office?

And KeePay, no, that was half the point. The point isn`t that they were saying it, the point is that someone (most likely) told them to say it.
