"but all the random waving in the air imbetween was complete BS"

I think that was because it seemed like he hit the guy kind of hard, and he was waving his hands afterwards...

"10 seconds on google would`ve told you that the vagus nerve runs along the neck, and has nothing to do with having a vagina."

From now on I will put a disclaimer to my "jokes" so all the slow people will understand I am not being serious. It will look like this:

GO OUTSIDE!

That wasn`t the same as a stroke. Impact on those arteries causes a temporary but very noticeable shift in blood pressure to the brain. With normal, healthy arteries blood pressure would and did resume normal flow. Thing is, the student wasn`t even protecting his most vital area. Which probably meant he was young in the art. Which also probably meant this shouldn`t have been performed on him.

But yes, for certain, this type of move would send your average folk into a 2 or 3 second period of total shock. Enough for anyone trained to do whatever else they wanted to at that point. Meaning game over fatality move coming next. A good sternum punch would do the same for most, `nuff said

Oh by the way, I can use a massage on the same area to slow the heart down when it`s in an atrial fib with a rapid vagal response.

Again, many idiots on here.

All you Judo, Kung Foo experts are idiots...
It`s a Vagal response as the nerve runs right where he hit him.

No air loss
no blood stoppage
just idiot karate experts
__________

Ok...can`t really expect everybody to know that kind of stuff.

Gotta wonder how many times the people who came up with this had to do it until they realized "Oh, you just have to rub and slap the back of the neck to keep them alive! It`s so obvious..."

I really like this video. After studying it a few times I realize that he used a fast and efficient blood choke. (blood choke= cutting off the oxygen rich blood flowing from the heart to the brain knocking someone out within 8-12 seconds) Not to be confused with an air choke that could take minutes.

He most definitely shocked the bodies two main arteries so bad that the poor kid was unconscious in a split second. I would not recomend trying this unless you want to run the risk of killing someone.

Furthermore, that slap to the back of the neck send a shock down the spinal cord stimulating most major nerve clusters in the torso and radiates down to the legs. This you can absolutely try. Just have a friend slap that area with a cup of their hands. Not too hard, but you will see the effect. Not exactly painful, yet not comfortable.

VVVVVVVVVVVVVVvv

its actually a way to keep the collapsed carrotid (sp?) arteries from killing him. the guy collapsed both of them, which is the equivalent of a dam strong stroke if he didnt do that

but all the random waving in the air imbetween was complete BS

why are people so convinced there`s such thing as a judo chop? First off, there is no hitting in judo allowed. Second off, even if there was, all the moves have crazy japanese names, it sure wouldnt be a `judo chop`

Itsallfake: If you are going to oversimplify it grossly the way you have just done then you are correct. However, learning all this stuff and being trained to the point of muscle memory at the very least teaches you about how a body is made to move and more importantly, not to move. Plus you learn how to use a persons` momentum against them... even a flailing drunk. Over time and with training you gain a much needed muscle-memory. I agree with you about the commercialized crap with "gi`s" and such, but what I say is true about the muscle memory and ergonomics of it all. It served me well in some combat situations and it served me well bouncing on Bourbon St. Hopefully it will continue to do so. Even more hopefully I will never have to use any of it again.

see i hate crap like this... karate and judo instructors always show you crap in some sort of scenario where your attacker is going to grab your gi. Well guess what, unless you want to be ridiculed and made fun of, you`re not going to wear your gi everywhere you go. And your attackers don`t grab clothing... they will grab a pilsner and break it over your face (seen that done) or they swing wildly and quickly without any form or discipline... attackers are usually not disciplined and to train against disciplined opponenents and then go up against a drunk guy flailing haymakers your going to take 1 or 2 shots before you realize you have to change your tactics a bit. I worked a rather rough bar when i was 22-23 years old and have a martial arts background and i know you have to rethink how things are done when you get into a streetfight. That`s why i recommend this: Link<

"Hmm, whats the purpose of clipping the guys leg with his foot, look at the video and see what I mean. It another pressure point or just to knock him off balance so he falls cleanly."

As a MCMAP instructor I can say with confidence that he kicked the Femoral artery running up the leg and used both hands to quickly collapse the Carotid arteries in the neck at the same time. This is why he messaged the area because otherwise he could have died fairly quick. They don`t teach the Marines this, but it makes sense just by what I can see. I will be sure to remember it in the future, that`s for sure.

"So it isn`t judo... what is it?"

No idea what it is, but striking isn`t allowed in Judo. It could be one of many disciplines, but it`s possibly something like Ju-Jitsu

In Judo in Japan to reach a dan grade you supposedly have to be willingly knocked unconcious by a strangle hold, so this may be the same sort of idea

He actually hit 3 pressure points. A little bit of overkill because either of the 2 on the neck could have done it, but he also hit a pressure point on the inside of the leg.
0
Reply
Male 4,793
"It`s because he hit a pressure point. Seen it."

its because he compressed the juggular (and w/e the other big blood vessel is called) quickly, which changes the pressure in the brain quickly and drats you up.

P.S. is htis a repost? seems so familiar.
