My.. One of the gems of the internet. v.v;

Animal harvesting is, when done correctly, humane. Often times more humane than vegetation harvesting which grinds up bunnies, field mice, foxes, and puts a lot of animals out of their homes.

I liked the remove the organs part though, cuz its pretty realistic. I`ll be doing a little of that during deer hunting this weekend.

How dare PETA make such a violent game based on a game marked towards children. Which makes them seems to also being marked to childern. This "game" also disrespects family values by using phases such as "meaner than momma" and then showing a woman with blood stained clothing and a knive.

Also this game seems to be hypocritical as the food as well as the woman cooking the turkey looked bad in comparison to the tofu turkey. Vegans often complain when people make fun of their food choices. I dislike that they are using stereotypes such as people who eat meat are aggressive in a game targeted towards children.

Come on people unite we need to act fast against groups that use such tactics on the innocent children.
Or will we continue let them insult family values and put violent images in remakes of rated games.

I used to support PETA strongly but now i`ve realised that there are far more important things to worry about in this world such as AIDS, cancer, child abuse, poverty and famine. Compared to all these animals suffering isn`t all that important. Think, would you rather have a cure for AIDS or an end to animals suffering?

if I was stuck in the mountains I would eat a human just to survive.

Why do the eggs bleed? I love Cooking Mama and this game wasn`t unfun to play, but it sucks

They have no legal rights? THEIR TURKEYS!

Oh, now here veggie Mama. Suddenly she`s good because she has no knife. Pledge to be Veg? Sorry, I like meat. I like not dying from lack of protein. WHY WEREN"T THESE GUYS SUED AFTER PETA CHICK SISTERS?!?!?!

Hmmm, chimmychang - I am sure the statistics vary according to different sources and the rest of your diet, (like if you eat lots of eggs you don`t need as much meat.) I`m not too worried about b12 deficiencies for vegans, as I said it can be gotten through other sources, where do you think the meat you eat gets its b12?

PS. All the vegans I know play sports and/or go to ivy leagues, so I`m not sure where all the malnourished vegans are, maybe they are the ones hanging out with the malnourished "omnivores".

to tankity... yer doin it right. i believe in the ethical treatment of animals, as in i think all farms should be free range with a minimum space per animal, and dairy cows should be hand milked not attached to a machine that is uncomfortable and more than likely over milks and draws out puss. Americans not only eat way too much meat, but th equality of meat is questionable due to the large corporations feed lots antibiotics and hormones. humans are omnivores bottom line, we are supposed to eat mostly veggies and grains and occasionally eat animal products. and to garble, i have read over an dover that its 3 ounces every other day not once a week. and i have to say, most vegans i know are weak, malnourished, and their brains arent functioning correctly due to lack of b vitamins, b12 in particular, so if you are vegan, make sure to get your 12. mental illness and depression are both linked to vitamin deficiencies.

I think it is interesting that you think that i am trying to impose my personal beliefs on you. Notice that I never said that I was vegan. I simply thought that people were having irrational emotional reactions and unfounded and making stupid points. My original point was about inhumane treatment of animals and overemphasis on todays society on meat as a source of nutrition. The amount of meat you need to eat to receive its benefits is maybe a 3 ounce serving a week, much less than the average American consumes.
There are many reasons to not become a vegan, none of which were mentioned here. You could say I have been playing devils advocate i guess. ;P

Although I still think that all the points I have made are valid.

Oh, geez - look my bottom point is - the people that care that much - let them have it. Now, people rage on till the end of time to stand beside their personal beliefs. This is how we evolve and I completely respect that fact. However, I do agree with the testing factor. The testing can still be done but in a way that acknowledges the animal`s feelings. We have advanced to coming up with different ways of researching on humans - same will happen with animals.

Moving on - I am with quick sand8 - I hate debates that the key point is to drill your beliefs into the other person`s head. I am not the type of person that likes to impose their beliefs upon another person (*cough* religion). I respect and validate what each of you believe to the fullest extent. So - my mistake for voicing my opinions and not being accepted. That being said - I can`t wait until Thanksgiving to eat that turkey!!!

I wasn`t aware that majors decided what was important in life, and being a psych major Im surprised you haven`t been schooled in the ethics involved. There is definitely a real debate raging on about the ethics of testing procedures, and that argument is still evolving. Not too long ago what was considered ethical treatment of human test subjects would be criminal today. You can argue, though you have to tread very carefully, that the procedures for information gathering are ethical because a few are sacrificed for the greater whole; not because the few are animals.
In the case for eating animals, this is not the few sacrificed for many, this is many sacrificed for the few. furthermore, arguing that we would be eaten if the case were reversed would then be to argue that we are no different than animals. But it is a philosophical truth that we are because we have a conscience and follow ethical and moral values, of which animals follow only very primitively.

Oh, Boadicea the reason the comments are vague is due to it being a topic that doesn`t matter much. I major in Psych and we conduct numerous research studies on animals. Honestly, you should see half of the things that are done with these animals. That`s something to advocate for. U just know deep down that the actual findings benefit overall. Same principle applies here. Now, I am an American and I do believe that we take it too far with how many animals are killed. I have also done extensive research into being a vegetarian/quasi-vegetarian. I stick to my vague comments because it comes down to one thing: THERE WILL BE RISKS TO ANYTHING WE DO. IF WE EAT MEAT/DON`T EAT MEAT. Honestly, unless you major in Vegetarianism or Hurtfullness to animals who gives a damn? And as far as I know - there isn`t anything like that in colleges yet. . .hmm. . maybe because people follow their own beliefs. Eat what you want. The ultimate question is: will you die from not eating meat/eating meat? Nope.

You will *not* have a "huge risk for numerous deficiencies
You do *not* need "a lot of nutrients found in meat products"
And it`s not stupid to think it`s wrong to kill animals - the roles are not, nor will they in our lifetimes be, switched.
If you don`t think anything is wrong with killing animals, then good for you (incidentally I just want to mention that some veg people aren`t against killing animals in principle, it`s their terrible treatment in practice in factories etc.)

You`re just spewing out general and vague objections to vegetarianism but you don`t have any real knowledge about it.
You should look into it.

omfg - ok, first - I don`t eat pork or beef. only chicken, turkey and seafood.

technically - you can live without meat but in the long term you will have a huge risk for numerous deficiencies. Your body needs a lot of the nutrients that are found in meat products. Now, it is a risk. You may go your entire life and be healthy as can be. Just as someone that eats red meat every day of their life may be in excellent health when they die. These are all risks people. You make the ultimate choice what to put into your body. Now don`t make the choice because it`s "wrong to kill animals." That`s stupid. If the roles were switched - we would be food. Make the choice because YOU CARE WHAT YOU INGEST.

Oh, I heart the banjo too.

PS Boadicea has a great point, if you know about opportunity cost then you know that the more meat you eat the less space you leave in your diet for more nutrient rich food. Many "Omnivores" today eat way too much meat and not enough nutrient dense food (veggie burger waaaay healthier than real burger) I dunno how many people have figure proprtion problems or bad skin and complain that theres nothing they can do about it. A lot of it is diet related and people don`t realize it. Even if vegan isn`t the ultimate solution it is definitely closer to the ultimate solution than the FDA guidelines -- and people eat way more than the recommended daily allowance at that.

To Lionheart
"Vitamin B12 is needed for cell division and blood formation. Neither plants nor animals make vitamin B12. Bacteria are responsible for producing vitamin B12. Animals get their vitamin B12 from eating foods contaminated with vitamin B12 and then the animal becomes a source of vitamin B12. Plant foods do not contain vitamin B12 except when they are contaminated by microorganisms or have vitamin B12 added to them."

Certain fermented foods such as miso and tempeh have naturally occurring B12 as well as certain types of yeast. The Bedouin tribe in the middle east has been vegan for ages and has baffled scientists until recently, they get B12 from the fertilizer. and While we`re on it, the Bedouins are a great example of sustained veganism from birth. and unlike many small ethnic groups they have no plagues upon their genes.

Also, anybody can be unhealthy if they`re stupid, omnivore or vegetarian or whatever else. Generalizing all veg*ns as underweight/pale/nutrient-deficient/etc. is as easy as generalizing people who eat meat as overweight/greasy/disease-ridden/etc. Each is as true and untrue as the other. How many nutrients do you think are lacking in somebody who lives off of fast food burgers? Just because you eat meat, doesn`t make you any healthier or less than somebody who does not.

Female 1,677
Lionhart2: B12 is produced by microorganisms or something and USED to be present in soil and therefore vegetables grown in that soil, but these days we`ve overdone everything and now the soil is basically lacking in any decent vitamins, so its left to animals to provide it to humans. But one vitamin missing in a veg*n diet isn`t exactly unmanageable and hardly fatal when people are informed.

I think PETA is 100 percent correct about calling attention the meat people are eating today, PETA may be radical and dumb, but thats almost the unofficial definition of a special interest group. Not only is meat completely inhumanely harvested, but it is dangerous as well. The hormones and toxins they inject in the the meat doesn`t just disappear, it stays all the way to the plate and then gets digested. Not to mention that the meat today is much less nutritious than it was before (more fat less minerals because of the feed etc.).

Humans may be omnivorous but it is widely accepted that seafood enlarged brains not meat in terms of turkeys and reptiles. And no matter how omnivorous we are we were in no way designed to ingest meat with the frequency or in the amounts we do this day and age.

To Caboose117:
There is not such thing as omega10 fatty acids and there is no essential mineral oil or anything else that cannot be naturally gotten from plant and bacteria sources.

"Plants have feelings too, you know."

They have reactions to external stimuli, but no central nervous system. And if you believe those specific plants you mentioned have feelings, then avoid eating those.
I hate the `plants feel too dur!` argument because even if that were true, then eating meat would be that much worse when you consider the sheer amount of plants used to feed them. It`s double the pain being caused. So... that whole argument basically amounts to nothing.

k, well our messiah Obama will fix the people problems so you dont have to worry
(im being sarcastic)
Boadicea- the Bible says not to stone people for committing adultery, have you even read the Bible? Do you know exactly what the Bible is? There is parable that goes along to say that a woman committed adultery and the crowd is about to stone her when Jesus says "Let whoever has never sinned throw the first stone." (obviously he didnt say that exact phrase, i dont have a Bible on my person right now, so i couldnt copy it straight out)
So where in the Bible does it say to stone people who commit adultery and people who are dicks to their parents???
No where.
It seems that you were the one who was irreparably brainwashed.

Oh ok, well my original point still stands. Can you actually envision a time in your lifetime or even your great-great-great-grandchildren`s lifetime when all of human suffering will be ended and everybody lives happily ever after? If you can, well you`re pretty optimistic, but definitely delusional. I think if there are people who want to work for animal rights, then fine. If you have a problem with that, then you can work for human rights. But one should not overshadow the other, they can all be working simultaneously.

"yah im definately insane because im a normal human being who eats meat like everyone else

i was referring more to your harassment of peta and your quoting of scripture as to why you can eat turkey.

my point is that you chose several examples that suggested that we should help these people instead of those people. my issue with peta is that we should help people before we help animals.

there`s a difference between issues affecting animals and issues affecting people. humanity has the ability to have compassion. if we just left animals alone they would still interact in the brutal way that nature intended.

...And your point is? Is that supposed to be an explanation for something?

Also: the whole "Dominion" thing - nobody wants to hear crap about the bible when it also says people should be stoned for adultery or being dicks to their parents. I`m sorry you`ve been irreparably brainwashed.

I didn`t even go to the game, but had to put my two cents in about PETA...

As a long time vegetarian (20 years) and a recent vegan, I have felt conflicted about PETA and their tactics. But one thing is for sure - killing animals just to eat seems pretty cruel and unnecessary to me. I know lots of people like to joke about eating meat, but the reality is pretty horrible. I challenge all the meat eaters to go to meat.org and watch the video. If you aren`t disturbed by it, fine, but keep and open mind. If you have any pets, imagine what it would be like if your pet was treated this way. China and other asian countries have been using dogs as meat for a long time. It`s hard to see a difference between a dog and a pig - a pig is as intelligent as a 2 or 3 year old human!

Just take a look - meat.org

This will be the third time I posted this, but this time it`s directed towards Silverlake`s lightbulbing.

First PETA`s Super Chick Sisters, parody of Nintendo`s New Super Mario Bros., now a parody of Cooking Mama.

As much as I would like Nintendo to sue PETA, under international parody laws PETA is legally allowed to do this. That`s why Weird Al doesn`t get sued. And since this is not making PETA any money they don`t have to pay royalties to Nintendo.

To quote Penn and Teller, PETA is BS!!!
Youtube search Penn and Teller and PETA, it`s a video of the BS that PETA does, including the fact a former VP of PETA used bovine insulin.

Rigged game. it`s almost impossible to do any of the real tasks. but the "tofu-turkey" i did nothing and still won (all i did was spray that brown stuff everywhere but in the "turkey")

kinda sad really. people arn`t just going to stop eating delicious turkey and beef and stuff just because they tell us to.

even worse though is that they do get people to join their cause. if thats how they feel, fine. but groups like PETA don`t always have to pelt us with stuff like horrible games and boring, but still rage inducing, propaganda. But the weak minds of people already brainwashed people are easy to sway *cough*Westboro Baptist Church*cough* and they are only adding weak peon to their ranks, if any. the people who have good minds and think with logic realize that it is sensless to fight human nature to OM NOM NOM animal flesh... tasty... seared.... animal flesh.... mmmmmmmmm.

"but in most places, animals are killed in the most humane way possible"

unfortunately that`s not true. the meat industry is absolutely disgusting. the animals are treated like any other industrial resource. but in contrast to the atrocities committed against other people around the world, peta needs to get its head out of its ass. don`t support industrialized meat processing if you have an issue with it, but if you are going to create an organization and spend large amounts of money, you should really invest it in addressing some of the more pressing human rights issues still happening all over the world.

im really only against PETA, every post of mine has been against PETA, not the cause, they exaggerate their cause, sure, some people torture animals, but in most places, animals are killed in the most humane way possible, if they disobey, they get a punishment thats proportional to the animal, a whip on a pig is like me pinching you (the wide, painless pinch, not the one with the small amount of skin between 2 nails, those ones kill) no one cracks a whip on a turkey

hell, the vegetarian/vegan movement wasnt even possible until the 1950`s, when we started making artificial nutrient supplements (vitamins), before that, it was eat meat or die from deficient levels of the nutrients only found in meat (protein is in milk, so that doesnt really count)

It`s been proven that actually, lacking your omega 10 fatty acids (from fish) actually makes vegan`s brains smaller. Seeing most vegetarians are women, and women biologically have smaller brains, I`d have to say that`s a double whammy.

Einstein had an usually small brain; scientists realized that because his brain was smaller, signals from his brain did not have to travel such great distances, and his thinking time was reduced. So smaller brains actually mean you`re smarter.

Although the 2nd point i put in was worthless, lacking omega 10 fatty acids DOES lower IQ, it`s essential to brain health. where can you get it? fish. We can`t produce it yet, so either you accept being inferior in intellect, or you eat your fish. done deal.

From PETA`s website:

"“Animals kill other animals for food, so why shouldn’t we?”

Most animals who kill for food could not survive if they didn’t, but that is not the case for humans. In fact, we would be better off if we didn’t eat meat. Many animals, including some of our closest primate relatives, are vegetarians. We should look to them, rather than to carnivores, as models of healthy eating"

“The animals have to die sometime, so what`s wrong with eating them?”

Humans die, too, but that doesn’t give you the right to kill them or cause them a lifetime of suffering.

Etc Etc Etc.

It`s an unrealistic view for the whole world to be vegetarian. People obviously shouldn`t be forced to do something they don`t want to. But it`s something to at least consider.
Like I said, I don`t completely agree with PETA,
But as far as the animal mistreatment on farms, etc. standpoint goes, I support them in the least.

We are Omnivores for a reason.
Not so that we can choose whether to be a vegetarian or carnivore
but to eat a balanced diet of meat and plants.
Being a vegetarian may be healthier than scarfing down meat, but it is not at all healthier than an omnivore diet.

And, BTW, the bleeding effect you get is mostly just gravity pulling the blood out. However, even then, there`s blood clotting, etc. the one has to deal with. When the hearts not pumping, the body doesn`t just spurt blood randomly.

So they are saying that if your not vegetarian, your a bloody thirsty, animal hating monster?

I like my meat too much. It`s the cycle of life for me, eat or be eaten.

AND (sorry) I have in fact kill things before in my life to eat. Like fishing and preparing ckicken, I used to live on a tiny island. I eat meat, gosh darnet, I eat meat and am grateful I can!!!
That doesn`t mean I hate animals, like my pet dogs eat animals and my cat eats animal and I EAT animals and I love my pets!

meh my turkey dinners looks wwayyy tastier then theirs lol

anyways,I`m all in for better treatment for animals.I do make an effort to eat meat from animals that can room in the fields and live in better conditions. Here,in the stores throughout the country, you can choose to eat animal from free range farm or not (forgot what they call it)
But my point is,I am not going to give up eating meat, because I eat meat. Peta, believe it or not,not every man or woman Wants tofu dinners.
Though cutting down on meat is always a good thing,I am not going veggie

Dead things can bleed. When prepping an animal yourself you have to drain the blood first with arteries and such.

I posted this earlier, but this is for MMCD.

DuckBoy87: First PETA`s Super Chick Sisters, parody of Nintendo`s New Super Mario Bros., now a parody of Cooking Mama.

YAY! I`m officially meaner than mama!

Maybe I should go try to cook a turkey myself now!

I`ll slit it`s throat while it`s alive, scald it in hot water, pluck it`s feathers while it bleeds (keeping in mind that the thing is already DEAD, and dead things don`t bleed anyway), rip out it`s organs, make some stuffing with them, and have me a feast!

@doodlydoo727

I can`t speak for peta, but I don`t think the problem is just eating animals, I think the problem is that there are billions of us and that means that in order to feed us all companies have these pooty places like in the video where animals suffer and whatnot.

All in all I say just wait a few years and support cloning. :P We aren`t too far off from having factories that grow fields of headless animals to use for food. Same exact taste but they have no heads (also brains obviously) so no cruelty.

Petafags are happy and meat eaters get to eat the exact same awesome goodness!

Igmo, how does it feel to support hypocrites; people who say animal research is wrong, then go and use the same animal research to survive (bovine insulin, for diabetics), or people who say killing animals is wrong, than goes out and kills animals they rescued?
PETA = Hypocrites!

Silverlake, make sure they do video tape it, then upload it here. lol

The stupidity of this game is that they are desensitizing us by showing us with an exaggerated depiction how to prepare an animal. I have never touched a real turkey (before it was ever on my plate) yet now I have simulated chopping off ones head.

PETA is not too bright.

"wat i dont understand about peta is

Not necessarily all animals kill.
Herbivores don`t.

However, humans are "omnivores" and have the ability to move away from a carnivore lifestyle.

Honestly, PETA, as well as other reasons, urged me to go vegetarian 3 years ago.

I don`t agree with all of their views, but I still support them in the least.

I see the problem...they used fertilized eggs. The eggs that you get from the grocery store are not fertilized which means you really aren`t killing anything when you use them. Also what were they doing to get all of those parts into the gravy to begin with. The only thing that should be in the gravy is the juice the turkey was cooked in and some flour. I don`t think children should play this. It is way too violent and might damage their sensitive minds. I think the ESRB needs to rate this game.

"PETA euthanized 1325 animals that year at it`s head quarters. ... They only took in 2103. So, PETA killed almost two-thirds of the animals they rescued." ~ Penn Jillette

"Nothing like a little graphic violence for the holidays. Makes me so look forward to the next eight weeks. You should make this game available on peta kids. Kids need to get used to this message at a young age so they go off meat as early as possible."

you hear that? they wanna feed their bullpoo ideas to kids! no child should play this game or enforce their ideas. I say, we should BAN PETA from the country. Anyone with me?

Humans are still technically animals and we are omnivores. It`s like telling a lion to stop eating zebras because the way they maim them, bite their neck and/or drown them (some lions are smart like that) isn`t humane or whatever.

Here lion, eat some grass.

PETA are stupid.

Y did this make me want to punch peta in the collective face? Animals were put on this earth in the first place to serve man in whatever way that man be see fit. Some are used as beasts of burden and some are sued for protections and other jobs. There are even more that is used for food. A turkey is so dumb that it will look up in a rain storm with its mouth open and drown. What other purpose can an animal that stupid possible serve. This thanksgiving i think i`m going to eat nothing but meat Some turkey, and ham, and duck, and maybe some beef. i say that if it taste good, and it wont kill you then EAT IT!
