Flip Throw To Face

Submitted by: pinner458 8 years ago Sports

Soccer might not have as many broken bones and compound fractures as the NFL, but it does have head shots like this...

"Anyone else want it to happen again on the second throw?"

I was really hoping it would happen again. If not to the same guy, then maybe the goalie. Alas, we are disappointed.

And was the butt-smack from the coach/ref really necessary?

Erm, even before watching the video, the video still was pretty disturbing.

OH SNAP! I saw that coming from a mile away, man. And despite him hitting that kid in the face dead on, that was flip was hot. And I mean hot in more than one sense of the word. (;
Okay, I`ll stop.

thecranberry, he was marking someone, the kid doin the throw in, makes it harder if you`ve got someone standing right in front of you.
Ruswut, you wanna know abot a sport with injuries, take a look a field hockey, I was playing a game where someone got their cheek completly ripped open, and broken bones, especially in you legs, ain`t uncommon

Yeah that was a good flip throw (they`re not that unusual in amature, but pros don`t really do them because they can do a hell of a lot more with their feet than ANYONE can do with their arms). The only thing that I wonder about is that kid standing in front of the throw. What the hell was he trying to achive?! You should be marking someone you prat.

Can`t you see the distance he got from that flip throw, that was insane, you cant get that from just throwing it

What was that kid doing? A freaking flip in a game? That was stupid on his part to do that flip

A bit lower, and he`d be raking in 1,200,000 $

Not in the UK he wouldn`t... we don`t sue the moment we scrape our knee (although pro footballers cry every time they do) that`s why rugby is the man version of american football. I put my stud into someones knee once, look liked i knee capped him... he didn`t get a penny.

Backfat: "ouch. So what was the point of the flip? It did not help his throw in anyway except for distance."

I can think of two things. Distance (like you said), and distraction for the person right there in front.

And after all that, it was a foul throw!
When the ball is thrown, he hasn`t got both feet on the ground.

in soccer, standing so close at a throw in is somehow considered impolite. its a common reaction to throw the ball into the players face. he will probably not do it again.
0
Reply
Male 1,153
thats why you dont stand in the way for throw ins. they can easily throw it over or just hit you in your face lol. thats pretty sick way to throw tho.

Male 1,364
its his own fault if he stands so close.

Flip throws can get the ball out to the attackers nice and quickly, but yeah...you really have to make sure you know where you`re aiming.

My uncle had his leg amputated below the knee due to a football (soccer) injury and my other uncle`s arm faces the wrong way at the elbow because a football injury.
And if you want football compound fracture look up David Busst - I`m warning you it`s not pretty. - On wiki "The match had to be delayed for 12 minutes while the blood was cleaned off the pitch. It is reputed that Manchester United`s goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel vomited on the pitch upon seeing the injury and had to have counselling afterwards, along with a number of other players. The injury is cited as one of the worst in the history of the Premiership. Busst`s injuries were so bad that he at one point ran the risk of having his leg amputated."
I can`t imagine Peter Schmeichel needing counselling - he is a big tough Danishman...but it was bad.

One of my brothers was playing soccer once and got kicked in the nuts and he was rolling around and trying to move away from the other players and the ref never called a time-out...
Anyways the player throwing the ball in should be kicked out for A. showing off like a douche and B. injuring an opposing team-member even if it was accidental.. he shouldn`t be such a douche and throw like everyone else

Well deserved. It`s stupid for a defender to stand that close because the guy throwing it in can just disregard you - if he hits you it`ll bounce off to the sideline and he gets another throwin. The biggest douche is the coach telling his player to stand there.

nicholelibra, why? he was being the douche. you never stand next to the throw in, and it is illegal to be that close to the sideline on a throw in, much like it`s illegal to stand right in front of a free kick.

kid deserved it, notice the kid in the white shirt came over to make sure the other kid was alright...hence HE wasn`t the douche. and then the blue team player has the audacity to stand in the SAME spot? I would`ve done it again if I was the kid in the white, the second time on purpose.

Actually, sharp, simple moentum is what he was doing.

Nobody can throw a soccer ball that far with just a simple two handed overhanded throw.

""is that even leagal in soccer?"
ya dude, you can pretty much do anything in soccer as long as your going fro the ball.
And any one who plays soccer knows that he was trying to do that"

The actual rule is that you need to do an overhead throw with both feet on the ground, right? And that is what this kid did in the video: He threw the ball over his head, and both feet were planted firmly on the ground at the time of release.
