I wish there were more markings that you could see flying by. Cuz just the background wasn`t really doing anything for me.

You always see things go fast on tv, but seeing it behind the handlebars certainly is something else.

To Max_Normal and BlackiPod. Anything over 100mph has a factory inaccuracy of up to 10% intentionally put the by the manufacture. And all mph bike have the speedo max out at 189mph. But if you ever see that speed you really doing around 150 mph or so.

And you not hitting 170 on an 1100 with only a stage 3 jet kit. You will need a little more with such and old/heavy bike.
Why`d they keep that obnoxious audio on?
At least at one point, you could hear them say what speed he had reached thus far. Either that, or they were to lazy to dub some cool music in. :-P

I`m trying to figure out what that guy was doing with the rag in the beginning of the video.

I really don`t get what is so special about this. I did 170mph on the A2 between Canterbury and Dover while racing a Hayabusa on my stage 3 dynojet Gixer1100, a fairly normal tuned road bike (Yeah, I know it was foolish, and I won`t be doing it again, I have a Bandit with no fairing now anyway). You can buy a tune-up kit to make a Hayabusa do 200 mph on the road, and F1 cars do 200 mph as a matter of course.

so 200 MPH looks like an endless expanse of nothing. Who knew?

Land speed records are like ALWAYS done in the salt flats.

I`ve always wondered...

Does the ground taste salty?

So was the world record broken?

I would literally be crapping my pants if I did that.

It would be nicer to see some points of reference, just so we can appreciate how fast it`s going. A blur of sand doesn`t really tell me much...

Oystah - they had to keep reving it because the tranny`s are set to such a low ratio that it would stall if it wasn`t continually getting gas - just like a lot of dirt bikes. Screw it, youre not even reading this

Yeah your right, but in the first video, he tops out at almost 320 kph, which is almost 200mph. If you think thats all he could do, or even that this video is a world record, you sir, are mistaken

This is NOT a record. If it is, I know a few people that have broken it. Check out this link.

You can see the mile markers going by... that should be enough to tell you how fast he was going.

Yeah, not a very well thought out video. No landmarks to discern how fast he was going, just horizon. I mean come on, go out and buy (or steal) a bunch of traffic cones somewhere.

Hell, they couldn`t even put a mock speedometer on the video to show you what speed he was going at what points.

Can`t really tell. The Salt Flats are barren so it was difficult to get a comparison of how fast he was going :s
Oh well...
